Hello everybody! This week begins a new series of posts asking your input on a number of topics. This week's topic is Game Statistics – there are many kinds of stats we could wonder about, such as how many A-grade weapons are in players’ hands? What percentage of the population is a female Dark Elf? What percentage a male Light Elf? Now, not all of these are simple to gather – or possible for us to report – but what kind of in-game stats would you be interested in seeing? Why? Keep replies constructive and on-topic, please.

I would be interested in
- Class Distribution, possibly with levels (although not of single characters, obviously)
- Server population (total characters? total accounts with active characters?)
- Total wealth in adena
- Quest statistics - how much are which quests being done?
:D ... but say, shouldn't this go in game suggestions?

Simple answer:
Do what they used to do for L1. They still have those folks around? Go talk to them.
Stats by class, level, server populations, etc.

% of race and class on each server is very important to me.
AS WELL-- I would like to know the exact # of each class on the server.
I want to proudly look at the Gustin statistics and note that there aren't even double-digits worth of Elemental Summoners on Gustin...yet.

About time someone asks about statistics :)
Now lets see. A lie, an even bigger lie, statistics.
All this per server:
% of races
% of each class in each race
% of male / female characters total / race / class
% of each race by levels, say 0-20, 21-40, 40-52, 53-62? (A-grade) and 63-70 and 71+
# of level 75 characters / race / class / gender
Most popular subclass
Average level of all characters
% of each grade weapons (NG, D, C, B, A) i.e. 15% NG, 25% D, 40% C, etc...
% of grade armours (NG, D, C, B, A) i.e. 15% NG, 25% D, 40% C, etc...
% of grade jewlery (NG, D, C, B, A) i.e. 15% NG, 25% D, 40% C, etc...
Most common/scarce weapons / grade
Most common/scarce armour / grade
Most common/scarce items / grade
Highest enchanted weapons / grade
Highest enchanted armour / grade
Highest enchanted items / grade
Total amount of adena in circulation
Average adena / character
Top 5 most common materials with quantity
Top 5 most scarce materials with quantity
# of characters
# of accounts(that have characters)
# of connections / day on average
# of petitions made
# or % of clans / clan level
# of alliances
These are the ones that popped into my head now. I'll possibly add more later :)

% of each class
ACTIVE accounts on each server (logged in once in the past month) and then % of total population
Most commonly dropped items (mob & player combined...SOE will be most common of course but it'd be interesting to see)
Distribution of playtime (% of total accounts playing > 40 hours a week, 30-40, 20-30, 10-20, and < 10). If you have a way to break this out into ACTIVE playtime (ie not in shops) that would be good.
Number and then also distribution of 75s across all servers (% on bartz, sieg, etc.)
Breakdown of level 75s by class (15% of 75s are SR, 10% SH, 10% BD, etc)
Breakdown of active subclasses.
And actually for me, I'm going to construe the OP as a promise to begin a series of posts asking our input via a Question of the Week. I'll take the mocking that may come along with my assumption of a promise for that :)

Top 10 (or so) Wealthiest People (names aren't needed, just curious)
PvP/Pk numbers
Highest Enchanted Items
Most Hours per week played (again... no need to name names)... maybe top 10 people

yeah to the class breakdown (we know dwarves will own this since everyone has at least 1 dwarf buy shop.. lol)
Class breakdown by level would be better.
I want some economy info too:
Total Adena Value / Periodic Growth (weekly or monthly)
Number of Failed enchants per period vs Successful enchants.
I'm not sure what other Economic indicators you guys look at, but come on and share!!

I think an interesting few would be
Total XP Earned. (Per Server & Total)
Total SP Earned. (Per Server & Total)
Total Adena Earned (dropped by mobs). (Per Server & Total). Please don't include the number dropped on the ground then picked up again. Would be nasty to see one server that had 100,000,000,000,000,000 adena earned in a day.
/Complain
Keep the Stats very general in a player sense....
Don't link Main and Sub Classes together...bit too much info for some.
Stop posting asking about bannings and bots....those are silly and pointless questions.

General demographics would be nice, i.e.:
Class breakout
Level breakout
Subclass breakout
Nothing too complicated, just simple numbers or percentages. :)

Number of raid bosses killed in the last week, and since the beginning (if possible).
Number of PvPs/PKs in the last week, and since the beginning. This one should settle all the interserver arguments over which server is the real PvP server.

I would like to see: Clan Creation Date of the Existing Clans so one would know who the oldest still existing clans are. I would love to see that :)

I am also curious about the difference in taste/playstyle of the other countries. So I would love to see the demographics (class/race/gender) of other countries such as japan, South Korea and China.
It is often puzzling for us why NCSoft sometimes makes their decisions about which class to boost and so on. It might help if we know what the others are playing.

I would like statistics for these personal things:

# of kills vs every character (long list but cool; helps legitmize PVP counts too)
# of PKs vs every character
# of kills for every mob I've killed (log and scary but neat)
Combat stat logging to file so we can examine battles
# of failed/successed over-enchants on what item
For Dwarves: # of failed/successed crafts
Siege kill counts (why dont these count for PVP score?)

Top 100 with the biggest amount of adena, per character and per account (cumulative from all characters).
As above, but cumulatively with every item owned (using items' base prices).

Thats the most wanted IN-GAME statistic ALMOST ALL player wanted since Prelude.

I too vote for items dropped/spoiled, by mob, possibly with a percentage drop/spoil rate.
Well, if you open yourself up to requests for drop info you deserve all you get. You'll learn. :p

I would be happy for a list of mobs that drop/spoil Reinforced metalplate recipe :) and at what %. Been trying to get that one for over 4 lvls now

Average price of all crafting materials in all private stores per server, for buy and sell shops. Updated every minute.
Most overpriced item on the server in a private store based on the store value.
% of all people who shout in Giran all day and never leave. Broken down by level and class.
Top 10 slowest levelers in the game. Based on amount of time it takes to kill the number of mobs to level up.
Average delay sorted by server of the time it takes after you kill one mob till you attack the next.
As someone said before, most popular quests, and least popular.
Oh, and how about a thing about who has actually won the lottery each week. Sorted by server.

drop/spoil info is the most important thing.
aside of that everybody would love to see with past data if you have it, charted:
Definitions:
Networth = adena + aa + item worth (the adena you'd get by selling the item to shop times two);
Account Level = integer of highest level character on account divided by 10
everything is per server:
- total pvp kills and deaths by clan;
- distribution of total server Networth per Account Level;
- distribution of number of accounts per Account Level (and per class would be awesome);
- average daily account Networth change per Account Level (and per class would be awesome);
i know such queries would take many hours to complete so:
as somebody already said, make some raw/log file available for download for peeps to make their own analisys ;P that would be superb and would prove to peeps why they need to study math better in schools to have advantage in computer games. what a great idea isnt it! now NCsoft can have the BEST marketing ever! new NCsoft slogan: "We increase world living standards, health, boost research into all science fields that will feed the worlds poor and starving and find cures for deadly diseases. all of that because we promote world education as a whole!" and NCsoft can do all of that just by opening their log files to the public! no cost, enormous benefits! hire me now? ;P

this is clearly the number one thing we want ...
but i am surprized that no one has mentioned the second most important statistics ...
% of mob deaths resulting in equipped weapon drop (even if it is not actually supposed to happen)
% of pvp deaths resulting in equipped weapon drop both for pk<5 reds/flagged/white and pk 5+ red/flagged/white
% of mob deaths resulting in equipped armor drop
% of pvp deaths resulting in equipped armor drop both for pk<5 reds/flagged/white and pk 5+ red/flagged/white

Is the success rate constant or are there other variables?

I owuld like to see statistics on the average time played between a level range, divided into classes.
For example, on average, how long does it take a dark avenger to level from 60-70? How long does it take a bishop?
Only game time should be included (the ammount of time the character was logged in), and the results will be a little scewed because of private shops. I think it would be interesting to see though.

Stats I would like to see:
1)Distribution of levels across each server
2)Number of male and female characters of each class on each server
3)Probabilities of quest item drops
4)Number of mobs of each level across each server
5)Distribution of adena per character per level for each server
6)Average adena per person for each server
7)Max/min, IQR of adena per character per server
8)Average price of each item per server per day
9)number of weapons of each overenchantment amount per server
Basically any and all economy related stats would be nice

Today's trading tip : Stockpile you mats until you get a REALLY good price for your wares if you can't afk sell.

Given that some information aren't released(enchant rates, drop rates) i'd break it down to three points which would interest me the most:
- total amount of adena per server
- distribution of classes/subclasses and their level (per server)
- amount of active accounts per server
And in case you keep older backups, this data would be ideally also in some sort of graph, with one to three month steps.

Whats the most used skill in the game? I bet recharge, or craft, if every craft count as one skill.
How many damage is dealed per min by server? Should be a mad number O.o
Since Open beta, how much mana has been used? =O (mad number again, I must have a problem)
So, how much adena has dropped from mob since open beta, and how much is still circulating until today;
Now, on a more serious base =p
Avarage players per server;
Average age of players;
How many players online at Peak times;
Avarege level os characters.
Theres some more, but the thread is not that new =p Maybe ill drop some more later.

I agree that I'd like to know the % of each class per server. It makes a huge difference when going through class transfers for those of us who want to be most useful to our clans.
I disagree on a lot of the game mechanics requests. I personally think the spoil/enchant/drop percentages are better left unknown. (sorry guys)
My bf has asked me to add that he'd like to know the percentage of new players joining per month.

I think some of the best stats would be things like Average lv of players on the server or % of players at such a grade range. As well as number of subclasses chars. A really cool one would be times such and such raid bosses have been slain.
