Meh, we kept saying that on gustin since all the ppl high enough lvl to do it were always fighting one another. But as you can see it can happen.

And if ppl consider pvp going on everyday somewhere on the server at just about any time of day to be carebear then I guess that's what gustin is. The castles keep changing owners with a few exceptions because the defence is just that good, and I see gank squads, pking, clan wars, open field pvp going on all the time on gustin. Also consider this, 210 - 220 ppl could very easily just be one alliance. Several alliances on gustin are well over 200 ppl strong.

The korean server attempted it ALOT earlier than us... we just shyly started to attempt him, while korean they attacked him at the start of c2.

We waited to have the firepower, the organisation, and trusty allies to attempt it, and most of us didnt even think we had a slight chance to kill it. but we did it.

WTG Gustin. I don't know whats going on with other servers and whos in power, but Lionna has a long way to go before we do Anthras or any big raid like that. Current Power=Invincible alliance thats unofficially allied with Mirage Alliance and Nemisis alliance. Im the other side of the inv and fightin them. Too many of the people that fight inv will never be in the same room with them outside of town. Not to mention that they bought premade accounts that are already 75 and have botters/farmers on their side. The bought accounts ive heard but hey if thats how they play then ok. Ill play my game and they can play their game. Ill see some weird name that wasnt known before in inv. Like meingbei or something (some PW my friends and I killed last night). Recently added BeyOnd clan (straight up farmers). And then we got some other people fighting them. BUT BACK TO THE POINT! GG GUSTIN! Lionna will attempt Anthras in Chronicle 6!!!

ty, those are what im talking about. I assume those are the dates you posted for each server. Except for the first date, all those are around the same time that we are at in C3. Remember, they got it all earlier then us too. Like I said, i wasnt trying to take anything away. Was asking if the koreans really suck that bad, or if NA really did tone down Antharas.

One thing I would have to disagree on is the firepower of korea. They have characters with +16 top A, +20 top B. Lots of +10 or more top A. They have a lot better equip then the NA servers. Remember when NCsoftKorea released some info about highly enchanted weapons over there. There was a lot of them that not even 1 NA server has yet.

Hopefully, our powerhouse alliances on Lionna can set aside their differences long enough to take out Antharas there. They seem to be able to work well together during PTS... why can't they work together for a couple of hours for Antharas?

The people who are red at the end are red because they PKed a couple of idiots who couldn't follow directions that were shouted at them in all channels of chat and on vent multiple times.

For example, if you look at Urkelian's post earlier of the "death shot" you can see some of the last of those warnings in chat:

As it was said earlier, a great deal of the success of this raid was due to organization both on vent and in-game. People following the raid leaders' instructions is very important. People who are consistently not following instructions are better off dead (PKed in this case).

They will probably have a lottery between the clans. They could even have a lottery for numbers once the numbers are "won" they just go down the spoils and assigne one spoil to person down the list... as far as things like A grade enchants... they could just divide those equally.

A boss of that size needs to change targets more often and not be held with Hate so easily. There is a chance, I guess, that the video just didn't show his rampages. But, from the video, it really looks like Antharas did relatively little actual attacking, instead just running around chasing whoever held his aggro at that exact moment.

Don't get me wrong, it's still an astonishing feat. I just think it looked a bit easier than it should have been.

The whole organisation and "how to do antharas in" is way more complex than that. The first test run they made a month ago was to test Antharas aggro and such, and build a viable strategy, test his damages, the way he gets hit, etc...

One thing i can tell you, is it's way more than just a Tank hating it and nukers in a corner...

btw it wasnt a tank hating it around :) also u cant kite antharas @his normal runspeed ;) the AI might be stupid to not change targets so often but i think that comes because it changes target after he killed a player and nearly everybody is 1hit for antharas so he changes targets alot if he comes to kill someone also every attack off him is aoe in some ways :)

ppl like Koga came to Gustin from other server(s).
They didnt raise a 3rd side in pvp but still if you come maybe! : P

Gustin has imo only 2 sides with 3 allies vs 3 allies or so Oo
But ask most ppl on Gustin - PVP is best since long long time.
And Antharas was just a good hidden plan and no fixed date
till 24h before the actual raid!

actually the rest of the server wasnt made publically known about this attempt. HonorGaurdians' leader Bighands had made a post saying it was time to kill anthares, and when he asked what the other alliance leaders thought he was met with hostility ragarding the issue from the three that did it just now (mostly M and LCN if i remember correctly.) We thought they were just mean spirited that someone would suggest fighting alongside the enemy, however in retrospect, they were actually just angry that someone was trying to steal their spotlight to be the first alliances to take down big A. I believe out server will still slate in as the server to kill Big A at elast the next 2 times, maybe more until other servers get their stuff together. N, SVP, and HG will probobly take the next spawn (i wonder how long of a spawn that is btw) followed by a second raid attempt by M LCN and H.

I wonder if big A drops that good after each death? sarge do you know if that stuff was jsut a one time deal and now will drop only slightly better then current raid bosses (as the rumors ive heard say this)

We wanted to try kill Antharas very quickly and efficiently. We had already done the test run on him prior to Bighands post and I was amused at alot of the posts in that thread, people that really didn't know what they were talking about really gave me a chuckle. In order to accomplish what we did so quickly and smoothly we had to have a good plan together, not just run in there with half the server. Im sure now that we have killed him, others will use our video and talk to players that were there and use the same tactics we did.

I am confident we can do it in under an hour and with less people next time now that we got the hang of what to do. To the negative replies that call Gusin carebear, they obvious are lacking alot of information about our server. Server is in a state of mass gank war that has the server almost divided in 2. Those people should check out our siege or pvp videos we have posted in the Gustin forums.

It is my understanding now that The 3 alliances who took Big A down were planning it before I ever came out asking everyone to throw in and get it done.

Sorry guys, I honestly had no information of what you were planning at the time, although I do believe I saw you all run by when you went on your test run, I actually just thought you were doing Raid Bosses.

Had I known it was going to be so easy, I would have most likely taken a different approach.

For anyone who cares, all you need is about 130 high level mages, about 50 recharges, and the rest people with Cripple or Entangle.

Organize your mages and recharges, spread em out, have the entanglers/cripplers stay in there and keep the beast on slow.

Then it's just a matter of aggro kiting the thing around. Mix in some Lure to go with it if you have some high lvl PW's and you should be good to go.

Unfortunately for us melee types, we are more of a hindrance than anything else.

Did you notice a change in any of the prices for the items that dropped? It seems that that is a very substantial increase in supply of top A items and helms especially - or is there so much demand that it didn't really make a difference? Or all or most of the items were used and not sold by the participants? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

Antharas' defeat has special meaning for me, because I seem to recall quite a LOT of cynicism and naysaying on the subject. This is not an I told you so to anyone in particular (but if you find a shoe that fits, I'll let you have the other one for free :p), but more to point out that in the end, organization, cooperation, planning, and simple good thinking made something seemingly "impossible" not only possible, but look easy as well.

I'm on Ash's ide on this one.

Nyasayers got it wrong.... but I'll ponder by server environments.

If you want to take Antharas or Aden Castle on some servers (say Sieghardt ?) you can't do it if you don't ninja it.

All the alliances watch each other and if someone plans such a thing it will just become a pvp encounter with griefing and ninja looting involved.

You simply can't expect to gather a sufficient force there and stay A: unnoticed B: ignored.
Period.

So yes it takes some carebarism to achieve those goals. Not from the killers, but from the watchers.

MXG took Aden this WE on Sieg.. Ninja style.. 20 mins.... (from NPCs I remind you..)

Something else that I'd like to point out is that our servers aren't that different from KR ones on a population basis.

They have about 3.2k players per server where we are about 2.65k. They are a lot more overall but they have 30+ servers mind you... So the difference can only lie in gameplay and ontime.

UPDATE:

For u non-Gustinians The NM + SVP alliances (at war with the Male alliance) just took Anthras as well, proving again he is not impossible (and that Anthras raids can be done even in the middle of large scale gank-wars).
