While traveling, the Great Magus Ahuron Raulian of the Ivory Tower helped a poor injured pixy who had broken her leg. As a special gift of thanks, the pixy sent him a box of pumpkin seeds. However, the pumpkins grown from the seeds have begun annoying him by asking for nectar day and night.

Refusing to throw the pumpkin seeds away for fear of angering the pixy, Magus Raulian has asked his agents to travel across the land and give away the pumpkin seeds to whoever can get the nectar to raise them. Those who grow their pumpkins and give them nectar just may hit the jackpot (http://www.lineage2.com/archive/2005/11/hit_the_jackpot_1.html)!

Nectar Collectors

Event Managers are stationed in villages across Aden and Elmore. Nectar can be found on monsters throughout the world and traded in to the Event Manager for pumpkin seeds. After planting a seed, feeding the Young Pumpkin enough nectar will make it grow. Hitting a pumpkin before it has fully grown will cause it to wilt from lack of nutrition, so be careful!

Once grown, you can break it open to receive a special prize. Prizes can include potions, armor and weapon enchantment scrolls, A Grade Crystals, soul crystals, and more. You must work to break the pumpkin open quickly or the pumpkin will vanish.

Large Pumpkins can only be broken open with a Chrono souvenir weapon, and will require many people in order to break it before it escapes. Chrono Campanas may be purchased from the Event Manager during this event.

Raises a few questions tho...

Will the nectar drops be affected by manor seeds ?

Do you have to plant the seed and wait for the pumpkin to grow, or you just feed it nectar instantly to see it get fat ?

And how fat can a pumpkin get ? At wich point do you need more than one player to break it ?

Oh, I can see greifers hitting your pumpkins as we speak...

Well.. all the Chronicle items are No Grade. So, no enchanting is possible.

I'm a bit puzzled by this, 'Large Pumpkins can only be broken open with a Chrono souvenir weapon, and will require many people in order to break it before it escapes.' While it is clear the Large pumpkins are party or clan specific and require the Chronicle weapons to break, doesn't this mean that you can hit the other size pumpkins with any weapon?

This Event is screwing me over real good. Since im a collector of Chrono Weapons and the value of my collection will become a big fat zero on first day of this new Event.

Stated on the information section of official Lineage2.com the only way to get these valuable items is by: 1. Have active account with active char at the time of a chronicle shift/update. 2. Buy or trade from other players ingame.

"How do I get the souvenir item for each Chronicle expansion?

With the launch of every new Chronicle update, a special souvenir item like the Chrono Cithara or the Chrono Tambourine is added to the highest level character on every account. Only players that have an active account during each Chronicle update are eligible for souvenir items and they are automatically added to each active account as announced on our official web site.

Even if you did not receive a souvenir item because you were not playing at the time of a Chronicle expansion, some players do sell or trade their special souvenir items in the game."

This is not shown by the picture, but think problem has been resolved, so im no longer as worryed about my pressius collection, maybe this event will even urge me to collect even more of them. Wonder where i put the next 100 of them :p

To be honest, I'd rather they sell some "temporary" Chrono weapon that disappears after event or at least make them really expensive :p

Even though it's just the Campana this is totally going to nuke any potential market-value for that item, ever. Since the reason they will sell them is to let people that started playing after C3 to participate I'm guessing price will be like 1k. People will be throwing these around forever, which is kind of sad IMO. Oh well :)

Remember folks not to mistake Wombles for Pumpkins.

Although this might not be so easy to avoid since:

Both are quite rotund, and require lots of feeding. If whacked will burst open and upon death have a tendency to leave stuff on the ground.

All Wombles are to be issued with special headgear and ear muffs.

But what's the point of selling chrono weapons? I couldn't understand this - chrono itemes are given to highest char on every server while new Chrinicle going to retail - so,now you wanna kill whole idea? Please NC don't do this - there isn't any explanation for such a move.
Maybe this will be 'new' chrono weapon? Can you give us any clue/respond in this matter?

I read the 'strangeness' of recent events as attempt to limit the event rewards gathered automatically by bots/farmers.
Events that ran only on weekends (more players then, more bots on weekdays,) events where special mobs in varying locations had to be killed (outside bots 'targetting' list,) and so on.

In this event, the bots/farmers will get a lot of nectar, but they would have to stop botting/farming and plant/nurture/harvest the pumpkins to get the event rewards.

I suspect if they tried planting near where they are botting, the nearby players would hit their pumpkins early and 'wilt' them. So, to get any event items, the bots would have to leave their area and do the planting away from players. THIS is not likely, since they could not bot while doing this.

So, I see the strangeness as an anti-bot/farmer feature.

I read the requirement to have many players hitting the large pumpkins as playing right into the botters hands. Most bots have a full group on AF so they should have no problems destroying the larger pumpkins.

This element simply seems to prevent the players who like to solo or to play in smaller groups from achieving the higher rewards from this event. Time will tell.

Event already running on Teon. Here's a quick report on my experiences. ^_^

Event Managers - Puss the Cat, will trade one seed for 1 nectar, and a Chrono Campana for 2 nectars.

Nectars are dropped from mobs. Like the Event Medals during the Bashtal's Medal Collecting Event. I have gotten a total of 4 nectars in about two hours of hunting green-white mobs.

Pumpkin seeds - you double click on this item and a young pumpkin will appear. You can do this anywhere - even on town squares. The pumpkin will start asking for nectar. I only had one extra nectar left and I gave it to the pumpkin, afterwards I proceeded to whack it to oblivion. The young pumpkin was dark blue to me after given one nectar. I am guessing the more nectar you give it, it would change how it would con to you in relation to how big it grows. I got no prize after successfully "defeating" it. The pumpkin will plead with you to stop beating it. Example : Young Pumpkin: "Woe to me! I am going to wilt!" One Pumpkin in Dion even said "Let me go! I will give you 10 million adena!" - I am not sure if that pumpkin really gave him 10 million adena though.

I am not sure, however, if you really need to hit the pumpkins specifically with the Chrono Campanas, there was a young pumpkin in Gludin town square and everybody was hitting it with their normal weapons. Since it says that you have to be quick in opening the pumpkin once it reaches the correct size, you can use your normal weapons. With the Chrono Campana, you only hit the pumpkin for about 20-30 damage each hit.

Note to all Event'ers:

To grow a small pumpkin it takes 6 seeds.

1 to buy the seed from the event manager and 5 more to grow it to full size, so that you can break it open.

So far Rewards vary.

1) A single A grade Crystal
2)1 EA-C / 1 EA-B / 1 QHP / 4 GMgHstP

At L50 w/chrono Unitus it takes maybe 10 seconds to kill.

More to come once we find out how much for the Big pumpkins.

Takes only 5 nectar to upgrade a large pumpkin aswell. Chrono's do 1 damage to it regardless of buffs, and skills so it takes 4-5 people to break one open.

hmm... the small pumpkins u can use any weapon u want to open so it will be 1 hit kill..

yes.. u can use ur dual sls or whatever weapon u have..

but on the big pumpkins (the 50 seed) u need to use chronos..

who cares if farmers sell nectars. "legit" players also sell them. all u have to do is buy nectars from those players, if you ever need to.

this will never happen. they will just sell nectars.

also on the note the player summons the punkin and has a green name above the punkin dont think the bot program will allow the ppl fallowing the leader to hit it.. at lest i dont think it will going to have to watch some farmers for that lol...

A few things I have noticed:
I was on a lvl 29 dark wizard doing AOE type runs with 2 others. We got about a total of 35 or so between us. The mobs were green / white to us.

I was later on my main with 2 others. The mobs were dark red / pink to me. After about 2 hours - we had roughly 175 of them.

Does color make more of a difference?

I will try my level 29 on yellow / pink mobs when I get home form work to see if that has any bearing on the drops.

Also, as far as level vs the enchants, my 64 main got D armor enchants when I smashed the pumpkin and no B enchants.

These events and all the questions, suggestions and rumors crack me up the most when I think of the GM's who read these posts are laughing at all the ideas we come up with to try and solve how these things work. Obviously someone had to program it to work a certain way, and it just eats away at me to know how the events actually are setup, and how there really could be a neat little "cheat" so to speak that people just can't figure out. "Stop all the laughing GM's you know you laugh when you read some of these things- like the idea of it being day or night and the influence it has on the pumpkins, LOL!"

worst was one of these pumkins exploded at it ended up killing a clanmate :eek: The only not funny thing about it was a an enemy guild picked up his +4 doom armor and ran for the hills. Havn;t heard of any other killer pumkins but be carful

I stood in Giran and watched someone work on a large pumpkin. I tried to target it and could not. I selected one of the PCs that was hitting it and assisted him and was able to target it. This would seem to indicate that anyone can hit on a pumpkin (including a bot-train if that were the case).

Does 1 damage even reflect 1 damage back? And from what i heard, big pumpkins have like 200hp, hardly a lvl1 char dies from that.

Busted a couple Big Pumpkins last night. Got a bunch of enchants for C and D, and 1 A Grade Armor Enchant. ALOT of Swift Attacks Pots and Greater Hastes. Couple Quick Healing Pots, few "A" Grade crystals, and some magic haste pots. Gonna bust a few more today, see if I'm lucky to hit the "jackpot" :D

Well, my cleric was hunting light blue quest mobs and got some last night. I only hunted for about 1/2 hour, though.

Insanely high for me last night. I logged in a quick session, took me about 1 1/2 hours to get 55 nectars.

I wanted to test the theory of soloing large pumpkins.

Note to all : YOU DON'T DAMAGE LARGE PUMPKINS with a normal weapon.

I whacked at it with a chrono afterwards, but eventually my pumpkin fled and my 55 nectars were gone with the wind...

**** ! Back to opening small ones !

I can usually get a party to help me in Aden with the big ones, no problems yet. I friend of mine can solo the large ones with the fist Chronos and fist fury i believe, but i wouldnt want to risk it.

NOT a chance.

If I follow the assumption that large pumpkins have 200 health, you have to succesfully whack it 200 times in 1 minute 30 seconds.

Alone : 200 hits in 90 seconds. Nope, don'T think so.

Two people : 100 hits in 90 seconds. Long shot...

Three people : 66 hits in 90 seconds. Can be done.

Four people : 50 hits in 90 seconds. Can easily be acheived.

It's one damage per hit so....Chrono Campana's are the worst Chrono's to use. (The ones the event manager sells to you.)

The best chrono to use is the Chrono Unitas. (Fist weapon) Simply because it hits twice for each swing. So Unitas = 2 hits for every one of the Campana's.

The Chrono Cithara is probably the second best to use, as it has a fast attack speed.

Now add in some buffs like Bezerk, Haste2, Dance of Fury etc. (Only Attack speed buffs will help.) And it becomes possible for two people to take down a big pumpkin easily.

It might even be possible for a Tyrant with their Attack speed Totem to solo one in the right buff/equipment setup!

Using Campana's It takes about 4 people to be safe. 3 is Possible but you will take almost all the alloted time to do it.

2 people with the two handed chrono + haste + zerk = ok.

use the two handed one. since all atks do 1 dmg, using a 1 handed chrono to break it open is stupid. use 2 hands!!

Does 1 damage even reflect 1 damage back? And from what i heard, big pumpkins have like 200hp, hardly a lvl1 char dies from that.

As a Tyrant, my P.atk is 121 when I am using the dual fist chrono..... I kill the smallest one with one hit!

Since my atk.speed is also close to 900 I wonder if I would be able to solo a big one ?!?!?

I think I should check the damage per hit on a small one first!

You can use any weapon on the small ones. My assassin one shots them, too.
