Hi 2 all !

I have 2 DSL connections and 2 PC's ,1 in my apartment and 1 at my parents house ,which is in totally different town.
I can play L2 fine from my place ,and i used to play from parents house fine too (2-3weeks ago),untill now.

I log in and my characters speed IS SOOO SLOW , like having slow and freezing strike at the same time *lol*.
The movement is slow but smooth for some time and then teleports to the place i've clicked.Everyone in game see me running normaly ,so the problem is what I see .In game messaging or menus etc dont lag at all and my DSL's Speed is fine i've tested it.Also my friend gave me a private server (c3)which a joined and i created a char and my char runs there perfectly. So it doesnt have to be the vga card (ati asus a9250) cause i wouldnt be able to play on that private server then.Oooh And my sister told me that it all begun after a server update or something.

I've read almost all threads here ,and the only similarity to a problem ,was with a nForce lan ethernet card (or something like that ) ,which i own too .I bought another card and installed it but problem remains the same.

Also i think all firewalls etc arent a problem cause i've put them off or closed them.

Need all the x-mas + administrator help i can get .
All feedback is welcome :(

Ps Im newbie ,and dont know how to configure routers and stuff (could that be the problem?)
Ps2 Ive downloaded the net info tool in case that helps
Ps3 Merry Christmas

i used to randomly get a bug like this but it was never consistent. in message box it would say 'irregular system speed' for me restarting l2 fixed it. (altho i dont think this is your problem)

do they perhaps a dual core cpu?

you'd get the exact same symptoms with a dual core as your explaining....

Do you have Cool&Quiet, SpeedStep or some other automatic slow-down system on? Do you have automatic overclocking software?
If yes, try to turn it down.

I have had this issue with y dual core once. Only once, the time I initialy turned on Cool&Quiet support for my system. Later I have got no problems with it. It works well for me now.

Let me describe the source of the problem from what I understand.
When you see load screen on your computer, game engine measures processor speed and adjusts animation speed according to the current speed of your machine.
Then game shows character animations with that speed. It does not matte if your computer becomes 2 times quicker or slower. Game doesn't always check actual machine speed - it takes time, precious gameplay time. Game engine does not use timers every so often as well (timers in Windows are very inaccurate, so it was hard for game engine developers to use them for every animation).
All in all, you have different machine speed at load-up screen and during gameplay. We don't know the actual reason - it might be your notebook switching from stationary to battery, or some overclocking software, Cool&Quiet driver, some software you run in background etc.

How it can be avoided? Don't run processor-consuming applications during game load-up. Due to inconsistent multi-tasking technique Windows has, machine speed measurement might fail miserably.
Try to avoid auto-overclocknig software if it causes problems.

That said, you can try to pinpoint problematic software and apply petition through support site. It works at least somtimes - if developers agree to your arguments and have some time to fix the issue.
