Why is it the server status on the home page is not accurate? Right now it shows the servers are online when login screen shows they are down. The server status should reflect our ability to access it and play, not whether it's "available internally".

Maybe the server status is taken from NCsofts internal network.
Luckily there is also an independent server status site:
http://www.glop.org/lineage2/
However this site cannot detect problems for your internet connection. In rare cases you cannot access the servers even if they are up.
