Player lvl and Fishing

Hi
I can use c grade weapons (lvl 44 dorf), does this mean I should buy a c grade fishing Rod for fishing ?
The guide mentions somthing about a penaulty the using the incorrect grade..?

the penalty refers to if you use higher grade fishing gear...
I'm bgrade weapon, i use a crage rod (only thing i could afford)
and i'm kickin some fish booty

Buy the best rod, that you can afford and that is within your weapon grade limitations.

The rod will determine, how much damage you do to a fish. It will NOT influence, what fish will bite. That is solely depending on the level of fishing expertise and the lure you use.

Personally I am doing good with a B-grade rod and expertise on 8, pump and reel on 10 (never learn these 2 more than 2 steps ahead of expertise. Never let expertise be more than 2 steps below pump&reel). If the fish is not regging, I pull it in 3x pump. If it struggles a lot, I will still get it (doing more damage than the critter can reg while reel cools down), but there are still some fish, where I got exactly 1 sec left, when I get them, so I figure I reached my optimal fishing setup.

And since I solf all my 751 Proof, which I gathered within less than 1h of fishing, I amlonst got the price of the rod back already ;)
