When you alt tab out of the game and when you quit the game the brightness is unusally high. This is annoying and new to C4. My suggestion is fix it.

Actually this is a bug. Notepad doesn't change my brightness in windows. Lineage2 shoudn't change my windows configuration or whatever it's doing. My windows brightness is off limits to you.

Nothing like that happens to me, and I alt-tab quite a lot (like now while I sit regaining hp on my newbie alt :P). So it's not L2's fault I think.

I have actually seen this on my computer as well, i'm not sure what causes it or how to fix it. I think it has something to do with the ingame Brightness level being adjusted doesn't revert to desktop defaults when exiting the game. So if you don't touch the ingame brightness it won't cause that. Just a guess, but it's annoying none-the-less.

Do you have a new monitor? i have an old one and it happens every once in a while AND when i alt tab out then in my in game brightness is on very high, but its very dark, so i have to set it one setting down, hit apply, then set it back to the top and apply again.
Now i do have a 3-4 y/o monitor

Yeah its kind of a quirky side-effect of C4. I have it to.
I am going to try to figure out a fix for it to, maybe updated video drivers? Maybe an in-game setting? If I ever find anything I will let you know.
On another note, do some of the new glow effects have really wacked out colors???? Wondering if the 2 are related somehow?
I have an ATI video card. If you have the problem or not, say what card you have and if you have the problem. Might be an ATI problem?

I have it, too. the ingame gamma overrides the desktops gamma. not really a problem, as such, as it reverts as soon as l2 is closed.
however, if l2 crashes, the gamma does not get adjusted back to desktop default. worse, the desktop thinks the new gamma IS the default. restarting l2 (or the computer, for that matter) fixes this.

I have the same problem as well, and it wont always revert when l2 closes. If you critical error out of L2 which a lot of people do for some reason.. some times the gamma wont re-correct. The only way Ive found to fix it, is to load back into l2 and then actually CLOSE l2 via exit game button. It's HORRIBLE for people who run a buy shop/sell shop and alt tab to read emails/forums and such. It has only started it since C4, it never did it to me in C3... New bug.. New Problem...
