Downloading C4 from Site

When I downloaded C4 from the official website, un-zipped it and installed it, should it still need to download stuff when I start the game??? I thought thats what the download from the Official Website was for?

There should be none to very little patching.....

Lol, its patching right now. Starting with the 0.rtp file, which is going VERY slow. Like its gonna take an overnighter to finish. I have a fulle Overall bar to go :confused: Makes me mad cause I spent 2-3 hours to download the C4 installer from the game, and now I have to wait ALL night to patch? *Sigh* anyone else having this problem?

I need more information...

Did you have C3 installed? Did you have the PTS installed? Did you do a PTS to Live server convert and are now patching to C4?

Can you post a link to the client you downloaded?

Yeah, C3 is installed and ready to go. I was able to play Live server til C4 was released with the patches.

I took PTS off about a week ago. So I didn't need to bother with the conversion.
At first, I tried just to patch C4 in, but I decided to download the C4 installer from: http://www.lineage2.com/pds/game_dw.html

Once that was done (it was a 2.-something gigabyte file). Unzipped it, and installed it. I went to open L2, hoping that I would be able to play, but it started patching (starting with 0.rtp file, which was the first file that was going when I first tried to patch into C4, yesterday or the day before whenever C4 was released).

You said C3 was installed, what did you do install C4 over top of C3?

Have you tried just uninstalling Lineage and reinstall C4?

Yeah, C3 was on here, and then I installed C4 into the Lineage II folder (which I guess would be C3 folder).

Im gonna try to take the C4 installer and see about click its shortcut that it puts onto the desktop and see if thatll launch C4.

Well what happened to me was this.

I DL the C4.zip file from the official webpage. At this time C3 was still running on the servers. I updated C3 to C4, but then it started to patch. It seemed strange, but I was like whatever. I then tried to log in to see if it would load C4, and guess what...it loaded C3...it patched from C4 back to C3. :(

Well anyway, after that and ther live servers were finally up to C4, I decided to repatch with the C4 download. So I did, and it seemed to work, but then it went to update server and started updating (like you explained). I stopped it, because I wasn't gonna do that again. I uninstalled L2 all togeather and reinstalled fresh with C4.zip. I went to update server and it sat there and checked all the files, and maybe downloaded a total of 5 files! Was done in about 15 minutes with checking and downloading a few smaller files.

This is what it did for me, maybe I would just suggest uninstalling L2, and reinstalling with the C4.zip.

So, Uninstall L2 all together. Do I need to reinstall from the discs, and then use the C4 installer that I downloaded?

Or, after uninstalling, just use the C4 Installer?

Just the C4 installer! It is the full C4...and is the fastest!
