Are necromancers overpowered?

They have aura flare: No wait... they don't

They have tons of grat debuffs: No wait they don't.
They have transfer pain: Yup. They will wtf haxor pwn you in a 1v1 IF they happen to have their summon out. Most of the time they wont have it out. In sieges, it is a pain.
Necros aren't overpowered. People who think they are overpowered are idiots. Nuff said.
(oh i forgot... there nuke is expensive as hell... and they can't chain nuke like every other nuker... necros are balanced...)

Here is a sugguestion...
Silence...
If a necromancer, or Dark Elf silences a mage such as a race, ELF,Human, that doesn't have silence, such as spell slinger, sorccer,ect. The mage is defenseless, we could hit with a staff, but what good dmg would it do?
If they are going to keep silence, why not make anti silence potions, that is the most thing that makes them over powered IMO
That means that necromancers always win no matter what...
These are the reasons I think they are over powered...
#1 Silence
#2 they can kill basically any other class in this game easy, if they know how to play them, here is an example...
(Silence) any melee job, (Slow) that melee job, Reduce its (MDef) (Reduce P atk) Finish him/her off...
That is how it makes melee's easy to kill, and thats why many think that necros are over powered, is because they can do this, and kill any melee job easy, and they can also just keep sucking their hp out of them untill it hits 0...
This is why many people think they are over powered, because no other class can lower Mdef, Pdef, except by elements, but that doesnt effect all spells, unlike necros, Plus necromancers also got good summon's, so necromancers can summon, and its like having 2v1 in pvp...
How are they not overpowered? They can own stuff, however they do not get any good nukes like us other mages do, but they can 1v1 someone, Debuff one person so much, that that person becomes so harmless, that the Necromancer can just own them really easy...

1) If only there were a way to remove silence...if there were a class with an ability that removes its effect...a class that summons something that means nobody in the party will ever have to worry about silence...
2) So Silence on mystics is bad, but Anchor is fine for everyone. Got it :)
3) Yes, add in anti-silence potions. Then anti-paralysis potions. Then anti-slow potions. Then anti-sleep potions. Then anti-weakness potions. Then anti-windshackle potions. Then...

The only thing that I am really agenst in this class is they have (Silence) Other than silence I do not see anything too wrong with a necromancer, and the same with dark elfs (Silence)? Why do we not all get silence for? (Sleep) is way different, sleep only sleeps the target untill it is hit one time, but (silence) doesnt give a mage, or a player enough time to get one spell off if (Silence) lands, and you were complaining about aqua flare? Aqua flare, it was way too powerfull being spammed like it was, now how about necromancers, and Dark Elfs silence?
But on the #2 Sugguestion people still claim they are overpowered, for the other reasons, and thats why I listed them...
Im scared now! It must be some mistake or what ^^ Necro is unstoppable! Hes summon can kill me without any problems i dont say anything about necro itself. I have no words to describe what i feel about this imba class! NERF IT NOW!!!

Maaan, this same post was in game suggestions, I had just made a long nice factual post, pressed submit and got the "The post you're replying to has been deleted." message, bah. Not gonna write it again.
Silence = means nothing on melees/archers. Has a long cooldown, has lower range than main nukes and doesnt always land. Silence is not the problem, transfer pain, cast speed and high damage of the two main nukes is the problem. Remove transfer pain, problem is most likely solved.
Gimping silence would hit SHs and OLs, perhaps even more than Necros. If you want to balance the game, you dont go hitting 3 classes, of which only 1 needs tuning down.

Okay, since you all will probabily say im a newbie, just because I haven't played this mmo that long, here goes...
Silence should either be erased, and replaced with another skill/spell, or they should just make silence potions
Other than silence, What should be done about necromancer? I already know what I think, but I am going to let you all decide what should be done, because you all will just start a (Flame) if I post what I thought...

- believe me, they dont want it in C4 :p

- not the fastest but same as sorc which is plenty to own people

slow cast speed... short range... against an archer or another mage you should NEVER be able to get it off without sleeping first... and agis stops sleep.. so do other buffs and armor sets...

that's cast speed in general not necro specific... if they had fastest then they would be overpowered...

pvp u can sure... pve costs a lot... and they can't chain different nukes like others can... vampiric touch casts too slow...

does not mean anchor is not a great debuff, it certainly is. But it is more useful fighting a melee. Also theres alot of times you can get within 600 range in mass PvP. And it's usually useless to anchor a fighter in mass pvp, anchor their SE/Bishops or as a last resort.

no. Aura Burn sucks in PvE. High mana for lower amount of damage. You know whats better in PvE? Death Spike. I wouldn't use Aura Burn even if Necro did get it. And Anchor is a good way to prevent a SPS or Sorc rushing you for burn.

Well if BSPS Gloom + Death Spike spam isn't enough then try Arcane Power toggled on, Gloom > Dark Vortex > DS > DS > DS after 76. And endurance is a great feature of a class. If a class consumes less MP per nuke they will often kill more in a siege.

although cast speed is the main reason nukers are overpowered, having the fastest cast doesn't mean they are the strongest. Even if you have 10k cast speed, you can still only go through the same MP. In sieges MP is important and thats why Death Spike owns so **** much. Necromancer is the fastest casting class with Death Spike and with Transfer Pain toggled on they have double survivability!

Doesn't really cost alot in PvE if u spam it 2shotting 1x hp mobs. Actually it costs about the same as a melee user trying to solo. If you were really worried about expensive hunting, roll a Shilien Elder.

Lendek is already on these forums as LostGrace, so although the two may be RL friends and more, they have two seperate entities here on the boards, but still the point remains, TimeCop often as LostGrace does make posts which bring the rest of the L2 world up in arms. Are there balancing issues, which the NC development team tries to address each Chronicle? Yes. Are the suggestions that TimeCop makes balanced? No, they're always extreme and lack logical premises and conclusions.
Necromancers are a powerful class. Their summons through transfer pain give them a lot of HP, and the summons alone are quite powerful. Do Necros always win in PVP? No. So removing silence from the game isn't going to prevent them from winning every time, nor is it going to be useful to OLs, SHs who also have the silence skill. Silence is only usable, by a Necro again a single target. And perhaps TimeCop is not very familiar with sieges, but he'll find that if the Necro is wasting his silence cast at every possible moment, then melee and archers are going to be on him like flies to a garbage can. In 1v1 PvP with summons out Necros have an advantage against a mage if silence lands. Just like an SPS would if sleep/cancel landed. This is a game of fastest draw, and luckiest shot, not as TimeCop would believe of nerf bat heaven. Get quicker or be dead.
