Is it true that if there are multiple items set for sale in a bulk shop store then you gotta buy em all at once?
If that is, it's funny to see those shops where there is an item in it that you want, but can't buy it cause there's are other items you don't care to buy or can't afford to buy, like a A grade weapons, multiple A grade weapons.

Yup the bulk stores are for multi sales....great for those people who wanna sell complete armor sets or sets of keymats.

At first glance, it sounds like a good idea...but from the sound of it, in the end, it's just a tool to help scammers. If someone wants a whole set, they'd buy each piece anyway. If someone doesn't want a full set, they'll just not buy anything. So it really doesn't help the buyer or the seller in legitimate sales.
Who it does help is the scammer, always on the lookout for "that guy" who currently falls for things like switching the quantity and price, buying instead of selling, etc. Just sell something at a good price, but tack on a stem for 10M. If he didn't see or understand how bulk sales work...
Unless, of course, I'm misunderstanding how it works. I wasn't aware of any documentation of this feature, so it's safe to assume a lot of the playerbase has no idea what it is, which makes them marks for the unscrupulous...

I think its a very good idea for some things. For example C grade robe sets...the basic items can be hard to resell since they can be made for crystals in Giran... whereas everyone who wants the set wants those elusive gloves that make the bonus kick in.
ANYTHING can be used in some way by scammers. We still have graphics the same for BoP shafts and stems for example, you just have to be careful when shopping. Check, check again take a breath and recheck before you click that button.

[/ QUOTE ] That's practically a scam in itself, though--even in your "good" example, you're making people buy things they don't want in order to get something they do want. How is that fair to the buyer? Aren't you still cheating him?
It's not about how "anything can be used by a scammer"...we all know that. What I was saying is that, if this works the way it appears to, we have a feature that only benefits sellers who are trying to cheat buyers.
I agree. Check, recheck, and never buy from a bulk store.

Its no more a scam or a cheat than 1 designer making a suit you have to buy together and another making a similar looking outfit which they sell as a skirt and top (yeah I'm female heh)....and we see this all the time in the 'real world'.
Yes it could be used by people to overcharge but people do that now with single items. I don't hear them being called scammers or cheaters just cos they overcharge....greedy yes but thats another matter hehe.
Just trying to make 1 item this week I had someone tryng to charge me 9mil for an item I paid 2.5mil for and 10k each for supplies I later paid 3k for. I didn't think of them as a cheat or scammer.
However, we should also remember that it can also be used to offer a deal such as "Buy the gloves and I'll throw the boots in free."
I guess its all in a person's perspective *shrugs* I like to try and think pretty purple thoughts *wanders off to play with the fairies in the garden* ;)

I do understand what you're saying, and I suspect the developers thought of it pretty much the way you do.
So far, however, the playerbase isn't using it that way. I only found one bulk store up in all of Giran between my last post and this one. It was basically a normal store, slight overpricing on 3 of the items and a good price for the fourth. Of course, if you buy the fourth...
I don't consider that one a scammer, it wasn't even close to as bad as a "stem for 10M" deal, but I think it shows that people don't understand how they work.
A system that encourages people to buy things they don't want, which isn't understood by most players? It just seems like a bad formula to me...

Exactly why I posted this, most players seem to have no idea what they are doing with this new option. It really is bad when you find something you need, but cause they got other items in the store, it's needless or simply beyound affordable to buy the whole store.

Guess what, nobody forces you to buy it, heh? And this shop mode is good there are many examples how it can be used.
For example selling some parts cheap but only if you buy all and so on.
Stop whining about scams they were there allways, however I am playing more than year but never fell to any scam yet.

I did not once whine, I never claimed anyone was being forced to do anything, and I resent your false accusations.
What I have done is pointed out that a system is now in place that is poorly understood by the playerbase and has extremly limited utility in standard, legitimate play. My critique was directly in response to the OP, who noted some issues and has been discussing it with me throughout the thread.
If we're going to be on pedestals, I've never fallen for a scam either, so move over and make room right up there next to yourself.
Witch hunt. Bad form. :)
on pts, i saw a strange shop i clicked on it, saw all items dropped and thought "hey cool a mass buy shop" never a doubt in my mind. if there are people who DONt see all items drop down, they should get glasses.
and it aint inforced to buy all the items, you can just not buy them. and when people wanted to sell whole sets normally they couldnt even set up shop, instead thjey would shout for it creating alot of spam in giran.
