I purchased Lineage 2 a year or so ago, and installed it to my computer. I liked it, but another game came out that I was really looking forward to so I cancelled my account and uninstalled the game. Recently I decided I wanted to give it another try, but I couldn't find my L2 disk anywhere so I bought another one and installed it last night.

My problems: When I double click on the "Play Lineage 2" icon on my desktop, and then click on the Start button, a box pops up saying "The game may not be consistant because AGP is deactivated. Please activate AGP for consistancy." I click "OK" and the game continues to load. When it finishes, the main menu screen is all in gibberish. It's mostly symbols wherever there should be English letters. I obviously can't tell if there's an option in the options menu to turn it to English since I can't read anything. After clicking random buttons I found the "credits" button, and all the credits are in English.

Any ideas? If the problems aren't related, then I'm not too concerned about the AGP issue. But I don't remember having any issues like these the last time I played.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There are three points i wanted to cover in your post.

1. You didn't have to buy another copy of the game being you have an active account, you could have just downloaded C4.

2. The error message you got is more of a FYI then a warning, it just means that you would get better preformace with an AGP video card. If i may ask what do you have for a video card: AGP, Pci-X, or onboard video?

3. Did you do a full file check? This may clear up those text issues.

Thanks for the quick response!

In answer to your first point, I realize that now.. after I had to create a plaync account and remembered that I had an account previously. I saw the old L2 game still in there, but actually I saved 5 bucks by buying the new one (lol) Anyway, the 5 dollars wasn't worth the 10 hours of downloading/updating/patching that I did last night!

To answer your second point, my computer is an OK dell that had on board graphics when I purchased it, then I bought a PCI (not Xpress) to upgrade it. I havent had any other problems on any other games though, like WOW and EQ2. If it is just an FYI, then that is fine with me =)

In regards to the last point, I am doing that right now. Thankfully the progress bar is moving along quicker than it was when I was patching. I would like to play the game sometime this weekend ya know ;)

I do have one more question. Am I going to have to download C4 too, or was that patched in when i updated the game last night?

Thanks again for you're time.

As for the video issue.... Yeah, you just cann't play with all the bells and whistles turned on.

If you updated the game to C4 last night, chances are that your just downloading a hotfix. If you have noticed from when the game first went live with C4 there have been at least 3 or 4 maintenance down times since then.

I would take a guess and say those are hotfix down times.
