On Devianne I've seen at least 5 people with Red Glowing weapons. I don't know how highly enchanted, but just getting to +16 is an accomplishment. Why try higher when more than likely you already have a weapon -- unless it's D grade or low C grade -- that has S grade stats.

Of course, we all know others that have tried higher than +16. Some guy even made it to +18 before his C grade duals went poof. Not red anymore, just pink mist.

yea sry, its +17 Draconic w/ Focus, +16 Forgotten Blade w/ Health and the Kris was +23 w/ Focus.. this was on pts though so doesnt matter

playa from erica has had a +16 [censored] since mid C2.
has 188 M atk.

But it will atk fail once you get higher lvls, cause those weapons arnt as strong as higher lvl weapons.

Actually a friend of mine tested that, From his finding you dont get any more spell failures while compareing OE-C to B grade weapons.

On Devianne, PM Queensryche in-game. She has the +16 Homu. She may not answer, though, if she's grinding. I hear she is going to try for +17 and +18 in order to reach 200 m.atk, so you better catch her before she blows it up.

Tiffi has the +16 B grade Duals. There is at least one dorf with a +16 weapon too. I've seen maybe 2 others with red weapons, but it is possible that it's the same person using the weapon on alts and exchanging with the BS Mammon.

There are at least 3 +16 Homunks on erica and a +17 bloody orchid (which I hope he puts focus on and stops enchanting before it's +18 or crystals.)

theres also 10 or more +16 or higher D grade and C grade weapons too, duals and bonebreakers.etc

theres also a +10 Soul bow, +16 BOP, +13 Carnage and other stuff.

+16 is nothing compared to smth +22 (have you notice the difference between +8 and +15). well quite the same w/ red glow.
Also I myself dont care about the glowing color, the attack boost is so much more important.

Well, even then overenchanting beyond a certain point just to get a bit more patk/matk is not necessarily the wisest thing.

If I could change anything, that would be it. I would give a higher bonus for weapons on a tiered basis:

+4 to +9 would receive the normal bonus (speaking of mage weapons only, 6 matk for each higher level of enchant on C, B and A grade weapons).

+10 to +16 would receive an even higher bonus (8 matk for each level of higher enchant);

and finally +17 and above even higher still (10 matk for each level of enchant)

For mages after they rich the 2hit break point it's the same, save for some overhits.
For melee pattack is never enough...

Enchanting update: That +16 Homu is now +17. She says she's ultimately going for +18 and 200 m.atk on the Homu.

And yet, I wonder if it's possible to one-shot greens without a mage crit using a sufficiently overenchanted weapon, Nightmare, Zubei or even Demon set given the right mob and buffs?

On Gustin, my last clan/alliance leader had a +8 Soulbow, a very nice piece. He sold it for 900 million adena and a +3 Soulbow, which he promptly evaporated upon trade.
