I don't know if any devs actually read this, but rainy days wuold be a cool effect in grinding, just to make the world seem a bit more realistic. When your toon runs, splashes of water could come from under his feet and maybe show the drops splashing off the armor.

As well, seasons would be cool. Maybe a different season every month so there would be 3 game years in a real life year.

i think that wouldnt be such a good idea

im not a computer guru or anything but i think that would lag you more than anything

Yeah, some of the effects that would be cool, might not work out so well in the virtual world, but still some change in season and weather would be really cool. Increased cloudy days, clear days, perhaps some colour changing in the leaves. These would all be really cool effects that are environmental and shouldn't cause lag...

well to be properly implemented, there would have to be a way to turn the effect off. Just like with the shimmer from bodies of water. People without top notch video cards would just need to turn off the effect.

In castle sieges, I am on low rez, because my computer just can't handle it, heh.

it would be another huge download for sure if they did add something like that. We need to give the option to disable it as well cuz it would really lag ppl out

Edit: Sorry, it would be a great idea, i came back to l2 from eq2 and the enviroment effects were pretty in that game. this game takes the cake though in all round visuals

I'm not sure it would cause issues.

I've seen several online games that have weather effects and have never noticed any hit in the computer's performance.

I think you could do rain with fairly small system resources. I'm not talking about rendering every individual drop and having water collect in puddles on your armor or anything, just a simple rain effect and maybe some goodies like the puddle splash when you walk. Small things like this really add a good effect to the environment and would take some of the monotony out of the grind.

Plus then we could get a kickass new event item, UMBRELLAS!

Or rain cloaks O.o I want a cloak, cape whatever T_T

Anyway, weather changes would be nice. A world that is always sunny gets a bit boring after a while so I'd like to see some thunderstorms, blizzards and heavy rains. Maybe a bit of snowing at some locations? And yes, other games have nice weather changes in them so it cant be that hard.
