I was checking out the vids since the server is down. I DLed and watch the Lineage II Animated Short by following the "More Movies" link off the front page here. After watching it I was left with a lasting feeling.
WTH??
So I thought I'd post here and see if anyone else feels the same. :D

Do you mean the fan-made animation? I thought it was neat too. :D

Is that the movie that looks like a cartoon.. everything seems a bit cute and you wonder what happened at the end?

that video isn't fan work. it's from daily comic strip that was featured on the korean main site, and characters from it appear as mascots in different sections on the main site. The mage in mithril, kayshalee, has her own little spot on the main page called kayshalee's question, which is a question of the week sort of thing players can discuss.

You guys dont know what is going on because we don't get the strip! It's just another example of nc's halfheartedness when it comes to dealing with our service.

Il summarize what the video is about for you: the video is a summary of all the strips to that date. Kayshalee started out as a newbie on ti, and was saves by a clan while being chased by spiders. She she later joined that clan and over time they had quite a few misadventuers. The video ends with them all 'grown up' raiding baium.

It's just a shallow gimmick... why bother bringing it over?

Is that the video where original soundtrack is much much much more better, happier and suitable than the one you can download from this site?

Or is it just me, my codecs or soundcard drivers that hear the difference?

It's cute. I have a number of the strips translated and I like it a lot. I wish we got the comic here.

Sorry splat; stabby's funny goes up and down whereas the korean thinguie is a bit more epic and serious, with asian comedy all over it... if I recall correctly they even went over who they were IRL with very nasty results. (apparently their BH is an older male player who likes small girls... it isn't as shocking there as it is here; wich is why I believe they didn't bother translating. Asian humor is really sick)

Oh and the heroine of the strip is trying to convince everyone in the group that she's wealthy and very popular, and then the webcafe clerk tells her they are about to close so they disconnect her :)

Yes, but then again I've read the strip over and over. It's really quite clever. And the **** female DE is actually played by a corporate male employee or something.

I actually got all that by watching the video. The parts that confuzed me was the orc making googly eyes at the other toon. The DE female resting her breasts on the head of the human female sitting in front of her, and what appeared to be the human female with no top on near the end. There were some other funky stuff that happened that was like, "Did I just see that?"

I thought it was neat that they used a clan saving a n00bie from spiders who later joins that clan. That happens a lot in game where someone is helped in some way by a clan when they are new and ends up joining them.

I like that Korean comic a lot. First off because I am an anime/manga fan (one of the reasons why I play L2 actually :) ), and in addition that comic is really fun. I would be happy if NCSoft translated all of it and put it on this website. And yes, that episode where everybody revealed who/what he was in real life was one of the highlights :)

Yep, my stories are not "epic and serious". Just having fun with the game and situations that pop up. The Korean comics are pretty cool and look nice all colored in the way they are. I think though that "being official comics" on the Korean site, the artist was probably paid for their hard work. When you read a new edition of "Mini-L2/Stabby" remember that it was done for free for your entertainment. I get my comics done during "slow time" at work and do the tones and letters at home.
If I spent more time on them, yeah, they'd look "nicer".

Your humor doesn't appeal to me, personally, but I appreciate the work you put into your comics. Keep doin' your thing, man. Don't let trolls get ya down. ^__^

Haha, I um... like the ending lol. Weird stuff. Wish they made a full length L2 animated movie though.

About comics, L2Grind had the best imo. They were just hilarious. Especially the one with the orc on TI getting mistaken for a mob by newbies rofl... :D
