Auto Shots - ...

Sign this thread if your auto shots lags, or missed 2-3 times before loading the shots.

Personally, not only is this annoying because of the decrease damage for when it doesnt load, but takes me more mp, having to attack the mob again to make up for it. Very detrimental to leveling.

Lets see this get fixed so we dont have to go back to the finger spamming of C2 >.>

It's not the soulshots, it appears the entire "items" section of the server (Item Server for simplicity, like the NPC Server) is having problems on Hindemith. Not only does manually hitting the soulshot button not help, but during those periodic delays, nothing that relies on items in any way works (potions, buying things, whatever)--it all waits for a resynch then goes off.

also at gatekeepers, sometimes after clickin on port, my char just stands there like nothing happened for 3-5 seconds, and then it starts porting.

another thing is, i dont see the SS explosions on mobs when my SSed weapon hits the mob, sometimes i see it, sometimes i dont, ,,,buggy,

very annoying bugs in c4.

I believe it's the famous SS (soulshot) lag (also called item lag). It happens w/ normal pressing (the soulshot key) and not only in auto mode, it happens with potions and getting the loot. It's the SS lag.

If you have played on a stolen private C1 server (depending on the hardware) the SS lag is really famous. So one cant miss it.

There is an item server that obviosuly lags... or just keeps too many locks alive. (that results in 'lag')

And, yes hinde is permanently full for a few days now.

Yes, actually it does look like a downgrade. Server performance (item lag) and network performance (ping) has consistently been worse after C4 than before C4. For example, before C4 I always had a ping of about 120ms in the server select screen. Now it ALWAYS is 300-330ms o.O

I have macros for some skills (e.g. 1. use bsps 2. greater heal) - many times, the heal will fire off and the sps will load AFTERWARDS :(

Call it C4 phenomena...many players are joining L2 just to try out its new expansion...I bet NC is happy now and their new release really worked for them.

If they saw this comming they should have prepared better (imo)...now we are having lots of full servers, a ping raise, people on Teon not being able to log on, etc, etc...

I tryed grinding las night but having to wait 5-10 secs after every click is not only annoying but very dangerous...almost died because a mob was hitting me without me noticing it...bless you UD. :p

but this is not just C4 its really since they "upgraded"... after that upgrade I started noticing this bug in C3. Alot of you were on PTS, but I was grinding hard during that time and it was the same as now, but in C3.

That's true and it was noticable with loads of Hinde players on the PTS, even. Now with all of those back here it's even worse than ever before...

Well, after 6 pages of sigs for the most part, being as not everyone reads these forums, or posts here even if they do have problems, NCSOFT can see that it is a prominent issue ingame, and people would like to see this fixed.

Since NCSOFT staff reads all posts on these boards, lets at least have a post from a moderator, or some kind of statement that addresses the problem, or at least lets us know NCSOFT is aware of the problem, AND working to fix it.

have you guys also noticed some of the mobs standing there and not fighting back?

I was just at the edge of BS earlier and some of the Wyverns weren't really doing anything as I nuked them. Wouldn't happen all the time but it happend often enough that I started to wonder.

Same with some of the orc archers. they would amble over very slowly and not realy draw their bow.

They sometimes saunter over to you while you shoot at them, they sometimes just stand there for a few seconds ("Wut's dat pain in me back, I wunder.") before reatcing and some aggressive monsters seem to have a variable distance/time to actually aggro you. Very weird, all that.

This is STILL a problem (after oh.. about 1-2 months now) and all I got out of support was "client-side lag" (which is obviously total BS)

This little "bug" or whatever you want to call it is slowing killing down easily by half most of the time, and even getting me killed here and there... VR can't even keep me healed because I don't do enough dmg when soulshots don't activate...

I wish we could get official word on this/ at the very least confirmation that it's being worked on ><

Denial is the standard operating procedure of NCsoft.

On a side note, it seems to be much worse on the weekends then it is during the week. Anytime from say Friday night to Sunday/Monday morning. Probably cause all the weekend warriors play all weekend and the rest of the week we just have all the guangaun02392's playing.

I can't even play my main anymore cuz its so bad. Not only do my shots and other items lag, but it seems the whole character does. I click for her to walk somewhere and she just stands there like an idiot! Than finally after about a minute or 2 she'll walk over. I thought it was just lag so I waited for things to load....and I waited......and waited.......and nothing.

Finally thinking it was my computer I rebooted and for good measure I signed on a different character. No problems there. Thinking it was fixed I went back to my main and it still had the same problems! So after going back and forth between people and seeing its only my main I've figured theres got to be an issue here.

What does higher latency have to do with it, anyway?
If it was traffic, we'd expirience it in higher overall lag, which there sometimes is but not really as bad. These item lags are totally random, seal off everything to do with items but there is no lag in things like running, attacking, casting...

It's as if we had an extra item server now that has lagspikes all on it's own...

Shouldn't the item server be a slave to the "main server"? So anything your character does (serverside) "does" soemthing with the item server. I don't see how a client would influence that. A client is nothing more as a looking glass with a keyboard in what is happening on the server world. Unless of course the auto SS feature is something that is present on the client and tells the server "SS click" every set amount of time. If that's the case I do not understand why they wouldn't make it "client: server, I put on auto-SS. -- server: SS will be used every hit now".

[/ QUOTE ] That won't help. The problem isn't just the auto-soulshots, it's items in general lagging. Manual or auto, sometimes it'll still fail to activate until after you've hit the enemy.

Funny how we have no problems with skills going off/character movement yet problems with items... why not just mimic the skill/character movement servers onto the item servers ;p (assuming that's even how their precious new server architecture works)

I think what happened was that when they installed new hamsters, they forgot to install new ones on the item servers.

They still need to upgrade to Hamster 2.0 IMO. v1.9 Beta just doesn't work properly all the time, which causes the server to go offline for periods of time completely at random.

Support broken? It would've had to work at some point in time during the past for it to be broken. How about creating a support team that's staffed properly?

The real solution, limit the number of accounts that may have Hindemith characters (each server for that matter). More people keep joining game. There need to be more servers period.

lol, a clannie submitted a petition complaining about this in-game. a gm responded, blaming either his computer, his ISP, or some other cause, on his side. because of course as we know, since those amazing "hardware upgrades" pre-C4, it couldnt be ncsoft's fault :)

(at school bored) This problem is still going on? If so, I'm sorry to hear that :( Also, I read the current redguards thread by MyIvy and am disappointed by the information, and lack of GM support. Such evidence as Red8 having INGAME confessions, and with anyone who has played this server to level 52 knowing who RedGuards are, and what they do... there is really no excuse. :(

Yes DXDiag doesn't take long, adding the txt file to the support ticket doesn't take long either. It's about as useless in this case as adding a photo of a donkey in drag though.

Seriously, this 'do a DXDiag' is just a bloody stalling tactic and it looks like it works...
I even append that non conclusive file when I'm sending in tickets for purely ingame crap (music crystals playing wrong music -> DXDiag ... wth?). I hate automated support...

This is also a petition, yet, has not been closed because we are talking about game mechanics, instead of eula violations which we get no/slow support.

The opinion for legit players is slowly spreading to just leave L2. You can say it won't happen, but after all the grinding, and not being able to advance our characters due to flaws like this (auto ss) and closing off real questions and concerns from over 100 players, will.
