Just saw a thread in the forum about this and saw a link which showed some undies and stuff. Just wanted to get some more attention to it and vote YES on getting underwear/swimsuits. Come one NC SOFT! Look how many ppl want this! :p

Yes i know the game designers were venting out their frustrations when they designed female dark elves and fettered souls, but that doesnt mean OPs have to as well :P

Besides it would cause an overflow of support petitions for repetitive strain injury and loss of eye sight.

Seeing that, I really don't understand why we don't have them in NA.

I think as a DE, the underwears are a lot more tasteful then the ********** outfit I have when I take off my armor.

Male Lineage 2 underwear <cough>

Human Mystics: Undershirt and boxer shorts. Darkish white, not quite beige, not quite grey.
Human Fighters: Long Boxers Beige.
Dwarves: Long sleeves and legs, like super old-fashioned underwear you'd see in period films. Brown.
Male Dark Elves: I'm not so knowledgable about underwear names, but they're small black briefs.
Male Elves: White briefs that don't make me want to gauge my eyes out. Yay for underwear that covers!
Male Orc Mystics: Also small brownish underwear.
Male Orc Fighters: Didn't have the misfortune of seeing a picture of this. Yay!

Human Mystics: Red Longjohns (they have no fashion sense whatsoever and momma said to wear warm underwear)
Human Fighters: Boxer shorts
Dwarves: Those old fashioned beachwear form the victorian ages where all skin had to be covered.
Male Dark Elves: Dark leather tongs and some assorted leather straps for good measure
Male Elves: frilly white thingies
Male Orc Mystics: loincloth
Male Orc Fighters: Loincloth with some feathers attached

I really don't understand why they didn't have underwear. Censorship shouldn't even be a problem. I can turn on the TV and see a Victoria's Secret commercial or look at a newspaper and see Target has a sale on bras and panties. WTH, why would in-game lingerie be any more offensive than the crap we have in print ads and television commercials. It just sounds to me that NC Soft censored themselves out of the belief that all Americans are die-hard Christians or something and that people wouldn't buy the game with underwear.

I think the problem is, Most other MMO's / RPG's have Underwear when you take off all the cloth/armor.

Actually its not a discussion about religion so there is no reason for it to be locked. I love the look of the underwear and swimsuit and I'll be very pleased if it's put in the game in a futur chronique.
But a friend of mine told me that lineage 2 in korea is forbidden to people under 18 years, so I understand the position of NC North America, Lineage 2 is rated for teen and they don't want to take the risk to get a worse content rating.

Knowing asians and anime, I'd say the lack of Lingery would not be due to DE or large Orcs in Loin Cloths but more likely due to Female Dwarfs, which I never see mentionned in this thread.

Long thread but bottomline is that the L2NA office most likely had a visit from some old dudes with value's of 2 centuries ago (about what is and what is not appropriate to view when it comes to underwear etc).

It is silly and it remains silly that we are not "allowed" to see the underwear in the game. Frankly I would care less if it is/was viewable at all but that's what you get from old prunes in charge of cencureship.

Well then, I think we can all say that what we do see there could be deemed inappropriate in the first place. Hell, with that kind of cencureship we should enforce PG13 beaches and what not.

Hooray for people placeing their values on me (I happen to be a cristian just not the crazy tell other poeple how to live their life kind) and as for children playing this game Parents should always know what their kids are up to and if this game is objectional to them then keep them from playing it..what a novel idea parents parenting and not relying on games and tv to babysit. I can think of many better reasons to keep kids from playing L2 then underware, ie. violence in media can corrupt the mind of children at certain impressional ages However the news does a great job of giving the wee little ones there daily dose of Violence and hate. But I really don't think NC/NA is influenced at all by Christian values.
It's more the ESRB, which as far as anyone can tell, is of no faith. Gotta keep it teen.

And honestly, some of the players of Lineage ][ don't give me confidence that there wouldn't be lots and lots of underwear stupidity.

By underwear, we're not talking about the current set of graphics in the game.

There's an actual underwear equipment slot, but currently we have no items to put in those slots.

I know what you're talking about, Wyzeguy. It's just that the notion the NA/EU users aren't, somehow, "allowed" to see underwear just can't be true, because we do see them. Just not when our toons are naked, strangely.

Either way, given the imagery already in game, it's hard to believe indeed that there is a rating restriction in place preventing its introduction.

People got sick of /socialwaitinga on dark elves eventually - I'm sure if that has mostly diminished as joke material, so would underwear.

Yea Dark Elf women in Majestic Robe or Talum Plate would serve quite well for underwear textures lol. This is already in the game and these armor pieces look a lot more risque than any typical underwear they might add.

And if it's a censorship issue, exactly why do all the females who wear skirts have them fly up in the air to show underwear whenever they make the slightest movement? I'm a female and I'm not offended by it, but I think it is kind of amusing.
