Hero -> Champion

Change the name Hero to Champion. A hero is someone who do great things for other ppl, dont think thats about it here. Champion would be a better name for the winners of the Grand Olympiad. ;)

I think champion will be a rank for someone with all classes at 75 (main and 3 subs). But then I'm just guessing.

Why are there so many?

Wouldn't it make more sense to limit the amount, especially if it was limited to 1 per class type.

My understanding of a hero (or champion as I also agree with the op) is that they are the best (regardless of how some got there :)). If there are several of one class, how can they be the best?

I'm probably missing the whole point to the Olympiad but whatever, to me it should be same class against same class otherwise how are you the best :o

For example if you say put an Orc (who may be slower with slightly lower skills) against an archer (who may have better skills and be faster) what exactly does that prove. I appreciate it can be argued that if say what is meant to be an uber class is beaten by what is considered a nerfed class (any combination you wish in this space) that shows something of your skills and game play etc but a Champion to me should be the best of their class.

I would think that people would have more pride in the hero status to be able to say for a short period of time that they were the best BD/SE/Warsmith etc on their server.

The olympiads are badly balanced

In the non-class bound u need 12 persons to open the olympiad game

Should be 6 in my opinion

And ...

In the class bound u need 5 of the same class to open the game

Too much also, should be 2
like some classes are extremely rare, like for example:
Temple knights, Warsmiths, ...

and even Overlords , bishops and even Elven elders

yes okay there are more then 5 of them on each server
but managing to get 2 togheter is almost close to impossible...

I havent met a Hero yet that meets these qualifications. Most of the ones I've seen come from clan who have made use of 3rd party services to "enhance" their gameplay. There are plenty of people who've done this who aren't heroes, of course, but I think NCSoft made a poor choice of words when designing this uber-****** dog-and-pony show they laughingly call an Olympiad.

Of course, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. Perhaps the Olympiad are a dev tool designed to point out broken class vs class PvP mechanics.

2 for class based would be SOOOO easy to feed points in, if you didn't camp the olympiad every second it was open you would not stand a chance to get hero.

But then again, all the popular classes already feed each other
too easy to get 5 of each popular class
So only would advantage non-popular classes tho

i got hero in 9 fights fighting vs my own clan friends that let me free win, i got 55 points from my friend and i am hero with 75 points, 9 wins, 0 lose, yeah !!! olympiad system ftw

Even if you fought for it, it has nothing to do with whether or not you are a hero (although it would disqualify you as a champion as well :p ).

my friend from my clan that stoped playing a few months ago let my other friend buy a game card for him and log the char forr play olympiad, he get 9 fights and 75 points and he is the hero, so i feel sorry for the others nobless that cant win prophets , summoners and gladiators, at last the char of my friend that stoped playing lineage2 is the hero, yeah!!!!olympiad system ftw
