a Majestic Shield

You know for how much I love the Majestic Armor I had in the C4 Test Server the one thing that burned me was the knowledge that it has no shield, out of all the A grade stuff other than Tallum... it just happens to be one of the highest A grade Armor that has no Shield...
Is there a way that by any chance you can fix that problem? I mean I would really like to see Majestic get their own shield instead of using a shield of a different A grade armor.

Very few classes use majestic and a shield at the same time. With maj light you'll be holding a bow so you dont need it, Maj heavy is intended for DD armour, in most cases you have both hands equipped for weapons and dont use the shield, NM heavy is the tanks option. By adding a shield then you would have to consider adding a shield set bonus.

Well that's what I'm talking about, I mean Majestic would do awesome for Tanks, aka Knights, I mean I love the look of Majestic and I love the texture and everything about it.. it just sucks that you don't get a shield that helps with the defense you need.. I mean if the Blacksmith of Mammon gave an option to add a shield with it that would be really cool, that would do awesome with Tallum also.. that way you get a choice with armor like Majestic and Tallum to go commando or have a shield.

No i dont know what you mean. Tanks have NM heavy armour it gives them everything they need. If you want to be a tank at lvl 61+ then you should get nightmare. P def is for tanks, and P atk is for damage dealers.

Majestic and Tallum Heavy = DD heavy armors.
DC and NM Heavy = Tank heavy armors.

These are generalizations but they usually are true since the set bonuses of Maj and Tallum are more geared towards DDs and DC and NM have stats that are better for tanks. Perhaps this is why they have a shield and Maj/Tallum dont. If you look at B-grade, Doom/BW couple follows the same pattern. Doom is for tanks, with all stats mainly focusing on defensive attributes and BW is the all out DD armor with dmg enhancing abilities.

Very few tanks use Majestic or Tallum, as they dont have defensive stats like DC and NM so I dont see why they would need to add a shield for Majestic and Tallum sets. Gladis and Destros dont need a shield and they're the main classes using Maj/Tallum heavy.

I dont know, I think mages who use Majestic Robes would love to get a shield since, most of them use Sword of Miracles, which Im sure is a one-hander.

Most mages dont use Majestic anyways most use DC. I myself prefer Matk over Cast speed so I have NM robes. I pve 90% of the time if I pvp'd more often then I would go DC. In anyways both sets have a shield.

It seems the devs wanted diversity when they made the lowbie stuff. There's a couple of identical items/armor sets for ng and dgrade. For the lowest d-grade dagger, you have 2 different choices. For ng-robes your first upgrade can either be feriotic or cotton.

But by the time the devs got to the gear you stay in a while, they ran out of textures or something. Or perhaps they want everyone to look identical.

A matching shield would be nice - there needn't be a set-bonus for it, just a coordinated look. Even if people don't think you should play a dwarf in magestic (why not?), you might want to, and might want to avoid getting pegged as a fashion no-no.

Smart tanks know pdef isn't the most important thing for a tank. Smart tanks go Doom.

MAjestic fits the whole paladin thing better and it NEEDS a shield. Period. And a Majestic Sword. And Majestic jewelry. It should add a 95% in vogue fashion bonus.

LOL. Most nukers go DC for the +cast speed, +2 wit and decreased chance of interrupt. And DC robes are more expensive than majestic robes. period. (Maj robe is around 13mil, DC robe is around 35-40mil)

About Robe sets... NO ROBE SET HAS SHIELD BONUSES. DC/NM robes dont even list the shield as part of the set so your point of mages with majestic and som wanting a shield is moot. They can use a hoplon for all it matters since there is no bonus for having a shield of the same set. Shields are solely part of the Heavy sets.

Very true we dont get any shield bonus with robes. But going with the hole looks thing its nice that DC and NM have shields. PLus as a Sps I will never be caught without a shield it has saved me many many times.

Avadon has a matching shield :P Hmmm it's the only one I can think of. You should still have lots of shield options, even if people might not use them. I know most peopel that use maj robes use a NM shield, but a white one (like a knight shield) would be so sharp.

Get a Knights Shield (C grade) it fits the look perfectly.

Btw Saying Nightmare/Doom for tanks and thats it is not true.

DD armour helps us hold agro, the only time a tank needs Doom/Nightmare is for Raids and AoE.

I will never use Doom Heavy in PvE it just sucks all your damage.

No amount of DD armor will help a tank class hold aggro, unless he is partying with other tank classes >.> The dmg input of a tank is so insignificant compared to other melee classes that getting a DD armor for that is a waste of adena. And what if you get into PVP while you're hunting. A tank with BW is going down faster than a tank with Doom.

DC is more for PvP, Majestic is more for PvE. The only thing going for DC is the +2WIT on it but you loose men, which is already VERY LOW for mages if they have tatoos on them. Majestic gives you accelerated MP regen and more MP.

Really depends on your play style. Also, Majestic SET costs more than DC SET. you do know that the Majestic HELM costs upwards of 100m+

The price of maj helmet is server dependant, dont you agree? And most of the nukers out there are geared for pvp so ofcourse they will go for a pvp setup, thus using DC.

Yep. On kain majestic robes are 10 mill, boots and gloves a bout 12 each, and helm around 110 mill. Dark crystal robes are approaching 40 mill again, boots and gloves 5-6, and helm 70.

I got NM robes (10mil), Gloves&boots (8mil ea) and shield (3mil). But the helm I haven't gotten yet since it still goes for about 75mil. Have had everything else since holloween at that time the helm was going for 95-110mil. So needles to say im still in Demon.

lemme point it out for ya...

people in this game like:
looks (its an eye candy game..)
defense(for obvious reasons)

i guess its impossible for some ppl to look BEYOND set bonuses.

hint: a majestic shield is > hoplon
its called a shiled block rate
combine shield block rate and pdef w/ advanced block and bless shield = much much more pdef, along w/ a matching look

And the same people complain about helmets showing, or capes being introduced. Now they want a majestic shield cos it suits _them_. Matter of fact still is that Shields are primarily for heavy users, and unless there is a need for a shield in a heavy set, there wont most likely be one available for light/robe users who just want it for looks.

At some point, you must compromise looks if you want to optimize your toon. If you want looks, pick knight shield, but if you actually want a decent shield, pick nm or dc shield.

Hell, I want armor dyes, capes and helmets, but some shoot them down cos they dont fit their idea of L2. However, for not having a maj shield, we have a reason. The heavy set does not need one, so there is none.
