War system

I’ve been fighting in the Epoch vs. Storm/FS war for about a month. During that month, I have witnessed the breakup of Storm, gained one of their clan halls, equipment and seen them lose a castle and Pked over 100 times by ONE of our members.

My question is when is this a victory?
Is it when someone cancels the war?
Losing 1% per kill is not really putting any pressure on anyone to pull out. I continue to XP and gain levels probably faster with the CH buffs then I did before the war.
Even if we keep gaining gear and causing them XP, they still can (find other ways to gain adena and level).
I really don’t see stopping the war as a victory on either side.

So what would you guys consider a victory? The war system seems flawed to me. There is no flag to capture or anything to siege. What’s the point except to basically have free PVP? 1% loss with a 45% rez is nothing.

Personally I would like to see no war tags and just go red on them and them on you. Full 4% loss and chance of you losing some gear.

I personally enjoy the new system because there is such little pvp on hindemith that when there is a PK war, someone on either side wants to get their XP back, so ppl stop showing up to fight. I'd rather just take the 1% hit, say GF, get buffs, and go back. Imo, that would be the most fun.

PK wars never last. Ally wars are the only way to get a fair fight.

I really think the new war system is cool because people get to learn real pvp.

having a clan/ally war is way much different than arena scenario so it's fun and 1% is not worthy at all and anyway and sometimes u gotta lose to win. (FS won't win anyway:P)

war system isn't flawed and there are objectives. You can take over an enemies exp spot, but thats very unlikely, cause if you kill a full group, they will just send 50 people to kill you if you hunt there.

I guess if you didn't like the pvp system you could turn carebear :P

I don't think the developers considered the warring system to have a point at all except the one PLAYERS give it. People war other people to kill them without penalty. They don't expect new armor after the 100 PvP or something, they just wanna kill eachother. Take it for what its for, not try to make it something its not.

Its almost a good system. The only draw back is you go red on a clan when they haven't accepted. i.e. Redguards for me.

The c3 war system basicly folded 2 great alliances. When DarkLegion split due to internal strife we all went to war. It ended up ending our Aliance. There should be a victory point where noone has to stoop low enought to conceade the war. It just keeps going and startes to ruin good clans/alliances.

Well, for one, Epoch did not cause the breahup of Storm. Domisun is leaving L2, thats the reason Storm is dissolving. Kind of hard to have an alliance when the alliance leader is quitting L2. And the clan hall, lmao. 300 vs 15 for a pos clan hall, its all yours. I would be more interested in the 1b epoch paid for a clan hall then lost back to the npc. That's much more funny imo.

Ok, I have talked to Domi about this several times.. and I'm speaking as an individual here, not EPOCH.

In reguards to the "300 vs 15 for a POS clan hall" lol @ that. We didnt have 300 people, and its not our fault if Storm didnt wanna defend one of their clan halls. Get people in your clan/ally that care about it and have them fight.

He's referring to the Silver clan hall in Giran that went on sale right after Partisan's. But hey if you wanna get grumpy with LA, he's not hard to find...I'd just...you know...be concerned for your health if ya tried.

No Epoch clan held that hall. BladeNKnight and Buccaneers bid on two different Giran clan halls at the start of C4. BladeNKnight lost to a 1 man FS clan and my clan lost to DwarvenSyndicate. Buccanneers bid on Silver Chamber when it came up recently and was outbid by BraveHeartII. Try getting the facts straight next time :p

Let me get this straight. If my clan declares war on your clan, and your clan happens to decline the invite, it becomes a "1-sided-war" correct?

From what I understand, I someone in my clan kills someone in the other clan(still under 1-sided-war) then my clanni will go red, and the dead guy only loses 1%? I thought this new "clan0war" system was supposed to open up pvp/war opportunities, not close them.

Yea, and some people don't like the fact that you go purple if you attack, because it means that unclanned people can then attack you.

However, it keeps the clan you're warring from having a buttload of untagged healers that run behind them, healing them without turning purple.

Clan "A" declares war on clan "RG"
Clan "RG" declines
Clan "A" must flag and gain karma to kill clan "RG"
Clan "RG" loses full exp as a penalty
Clan "A" , when killed by Clan "RG" loses 1/4 % exp regardless of status of Clan "A"(even chaotic)

The pros of this, your clan that declares war only loses 1%

The cons are you still gain pk count and karma.

Clan "RG" then abuses this by waiting til you pk one, then they farm the chaotic player as well as the raid bosses.

Andothe had it, I think BlitzkriegKnight is understanding wrong.

A declares war on B. B does not counter-declare.
A kills B: A goes red, B loses 4%.
B kills A: B does not go red, A loses 1%.

In a one sided - war, all go red if not flagged or attacking chaotic players. The only difference is experience % lost by the different clans.
