View Full Version : Red's harassing lowbies
Seems that lately there are a few high level reds showing up in the 20 somthing areas doing alot of PKing. So far it looks like they are running around pretty well unchecked. Any ideas on what can be done? A few mid lvl charictars are trying to provide protection but there doesn't seem to be enough of them. My thought was, offer a bounty but we would need a kind hero to do the shout. I just hate to see the lowbies gettin picked on with no way to retaliate.

Wow, I didn't know people were still doing this. Not only is it rather unfair (not that fairness is a top priority value in L2), it's highly counterproductive in getting new people into the game and playing long enough to participate in our server politics and high-end pvp.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye out next time I have to visit a lowbie area for a quest or something. Maybe I'll even get lucky and loot a short bow or a wooden set :p

I know right now there are reds trying to take out bot parties in dion area and other ares. But they first ask if your a bot and such.
So far I have not had any troubles.

True, true. I've talked to a few folks around there that are trying to do some good for us with their pk toons. Unfortunately the bad ones are using the same excuse. My wife's poor lvl 22 archer has been trying to grind on the adept of taste quest solo... she has been PKed 5 times! I felt bad for her when she tried to rally support in Dion the response was
"They do that to everyone get over it"
Ouch...
Not sure if it says somthing about the 20 somthings on our sever or not but I would still like to find a way to help the folks who want help ya know.
BTW, would it be in bad taste to name the PKrs here?

I think the best thing we can do is name the red's characters & area's they are most commonly in. Then we put a hunting team together (of people who want to get rid of them) and hunt them down, if we see someone shout in Dion that theres a red outside or something. It actually works. I was on my lowbie DW & a guy in Cruma named "freak" was killing people & I called in some friends and he called friends & killed Freak. Not once but a few times till Freak stopped showing up. I know it wont get rid of them permantly, but it's worth a shot. At least it gave others & I a few weeks to level in that area in peace! :)
No, freak is now a bot-killer.. He even has a clan named BotsBeware.. :)
I'll actualy repost this in a new thred so I can continualy edit it but here is the list so far:
Freak - Stalks EG & Dion area
MrsLadyJane - Seems to stalk RoA & RoD
ArthurCC - Stalks the Gludin area
A note on Freak: I've heard a few people saying he has gone strictly bot killer. I have trouble believing that because just a few days ago he took out my poor wife. (witch BTW has now been dubbed the PK magnet :p) If you ask me its pretty easy to tell if a bow user is botted. So I'm having trouble with beliving that. I hope its true though.
I'd also like to give a big SHOUT OUT to MasterOrc and Morningstar. They saved countless lowbies from an untimely death last night. Thanks you two. :D

Hi ppl from other server, You are not alone with your problem, I done rerolls and and when I'm grinding them in noob areas I generaly log 2 of my higher lvl toons in that area. Evan though i might not be able to kill them alone there are enough ppl in that area to help kill the low life, for this I don't mind losing exp when the end result is a dead noob greifer. On my server (Dev.) some good ppl with high lvl toons hang around and wait for them to appear and start there crap these ppl that greif noobs with high lvl toons generaly tend to be insecure inmature punks that will run (or force log) when faced with a fair fight, pvp is part of the game but it should be a mutual thing, and with some fairness to it, There is no glory in pk'n a toon 5 or more lvls below you that is just mean, do they toment small defensless animals too?

Freak is a lowbie-greifing tool. No amount of "bot-killing" makes up for his need to pump his ego at the expense of driving away new players to the game. I see him red, I'm taking him down.
MasterOrc is awesome. Those guys in FO are a great group of players. Shame they aren't in ARKTIC *sigh*

freak used to pk me alot around the orc around oren, untill i got another sr and we beat him down and he droped all his gear. but he is a nice PKer, well he used to be, he would only pk higher levels. but i did hear too that he is stricky a bot killer now. but again hard to change some people. and i'm always patroling around my home village , Elven Village, I'll give a shout out to see if there is anyone around then pm them and ask about pkers. cause that's what a Silver Ranger is, protector of the elven forest...is he not?
:) Now this is what I am talking about. I love PvP when the system works like its supposed to. You can kill anyone you want but beware the players that watch out for eachother. It brings good balance to the game. I'll never complain about being PKed if I know someone will avenge me! :D

My DW was also pked by Freak.. So whenever I'm in Dion and someone shouts & gives me the chance to take him out I WILL DO IT!!!! :D Bot killer or not. Doesn't matter he made many mistakes and killed innocent lowbies & deserves to be punished! *He messed with the wrong crowd*
Yes that is what SR's are for to kite, run fast & protect the elven forest heh :cool:

I remember both of them very well. MickyLee was a very high level TH I believe. I know this because he could kill the guards at Gludin. I knew what clan he was part of with his main and called them for him to stop and he did for awhile. Toe was an archer but it was just plain fun tracking him down. I was bidding my time before going after him and it payed off. He finally quit the server because we knew his log on spots and groups watched them in DP.
I will bring my OL down to Gludin and help out also. :)

Missladyjane used to hang out in EG and Pked me once or twice. A bow weilding ******.
For the real young players, my advice is to only hunt in area where there are scouts or fairys around. Pkers usually avoid these areas.
Keep a personal list of those that pked you or cheated you for no reason when you were a newbie. Payback is like a woman scorned.

If anyone see these chars we should be listing where the logged & where they were last seen (lowbie area's) So we have a good idea of where to go hunting :)

Yeah, I usually go after reds whenever someone PMs me about them, and I tell all my friends to PM me whenever theyre PKd.. I went after LadyMaryJane, but she's hard to catch bc she fake death and logs every single time.. But I'll keep going, I just need to get on sleep range once.. :)

Have done my share of running behind lowbie killers myself and help out new players to gain back the lost experience. :)
If they are true pain in the buts going about low level players then they need a spanking ^^

When we had a clan hall in Gludin, it was commonplace for us to patrol Gludin and AC for griefers. LordRipp and LoH used to join the patrols quite often.
We developed a mild reputation for helping new players and lower level people against punks. We still help where we can, but people must remember that we have our own grinding/questing to do on top of being at war with NFI/Blaze (with IC added to the mix) and as such can't be expected to jump on command and march to EG/Dion/Branded/etc. every time someone gets PK'd.
We will assist when it is reasonable for us to do so, but we do ask that people respect our priorities and right to play the game we pay for as well. (Not pointed at anyone in particular)

No one is being forced into this, I also wont be pming you to help out unless you actually ask me too! This thread was more to in form people of the common pker's usually seen in the lowbie leveling area's. A hunting party is more for people who want to do this for fun & to help out others, it doesn't mean that if you don't join the hunt that you don't help people out. Everyone does stuff in there own way. Many of us are also probably in clans that are at war. (my clan is at war with at least 3 clans) so we understand if your time is more dedicated somewhere else. I would be glad to add who ever wants to go hunting to my friends list. That way we can contact eachother if we are bored or someone is in trouble and go hunting. :) It's a great idea guys, and even just posting some trouble makers in this thread with char names & locations is more help then nothing at all.

LOL! Thanks Tiffy. My post wasn't directed at you. These boards actually get a fair amount of traffic from new players and I get a good number of PMs from players I don't know.
That's cool but I just want expectation levels to be within reason.

If I'm not doing anything important, I don't mind going to kill someone bothering low level people. The other day I went to EG to kill a few reds and got a fair amount of mats, so it was worth the trip :D

Freak is back to killing everyone.
Me and two friends go through EG everyonce and a while to see what we can snag.
We aren't high level but a WC, BD and a Tyrant all high 40s low 50s can take down a red easy.
We got Ceades who was being a big pain in EG the other day and dropped his Crafted Dagger and all his shots.
He keeps and alt on close by to rez him and give him new equipment. so if you hang aournd for a bit you can nail him 2 3 times before he logs.
LadyMaryJane hasn't been as active as freak has and not as nice as Freak.

I got some stuff i have to take care of irl so the game ends till i have fixed all of it and it will take some time to do so. Im not a member in unity1 at the momemt i quit the clan to make room for another active prophet. Think i will be back when c5 comes and then there will be more room in the clan i hope :)

Yesterday i got killed by Freak :mad:. I think this kind of people must be banned. This is not fair pvp. I am just lvl 30, and he is 50? 60? i have no chances to fight against him. So why dont admins ban this people that dont want to play in a good way (without going bothering other people). If pks have balls enough they will go ALONE to kill toons of the SAME lvl than him. But Freak, and all those that like take advantaje of their lvl, are frustrated people that when fight in a fair situation usually die. I am prettty shure of that. The pvp/pk system of this game is unbalanced. Simply, 2 toons that have 10 lvl of difference shall not be allow to attack each other. Want to pk me? try to do it whit a toon near my lvl. U gonna be surprised about my skills on fighting. But beeing 10, 20, 30 or more lvls lower, there is nothing i can do. And i think many people thinks like me.

L II is a pvp game where everyone can kill everyone anytime...enough said.
If a PK'er kills you and you can't handle it alone, call in your high lvl friends. Only solution.

Yeah, what stupid i am...i supossed pks ever keep waiting on the same place they killed me for those "friends of mine higher lvl" that will go to kill them...
Next time try to put your self in the situation and think on the "game parameters". No pk keep on the same place where he killed. No pk will tell u where to find him. Is just a mother of luck finding him and more luck if you have lvl enough to defend your self. And please, read again the first conduct rule of this game, cause is pretty clear.

Yes it is, it doesn't state Freak made a violation there.
And please don't whine at me...killing a Pk'er ain't that hard, only need some planning, organisation, patience and fast kill. If you can't handle that, then probably L II is not your game. No hard feelings there. Why do you even think I can't place myself in your situation? Do you think I don't play lower lvl alts?

I can still recall a LOoonng leveling period for my toon when she was in her mid 30's working towards those 2nd class change level...She's been PK'd so many times at a certain point she was making negative XP instead of positive...
I didn't wine about it, I just put my hard head in the game which is known to be PvP minded at any time any place, and I bit off when I had a chance (not winning though LOL) but at least the attacker knew I wouldn't sit and stay inert, letting my head hang and wine about the lost 8% (or was it 4%...)
Sorry but at a level 30 something you win that back in no time...Try getting to 60 and being killed repeatedly and heading down your level 4 times in a row and trying to still win your ground ^^ It's douable and I'm proof of it :)
And if you note down some of the names in this topic you will have enough people to help you out when pm'ing them that a red player is spotted in your region ;)

They aren't trying to get mad at you they are only trying to help! I know the pkers suck but the only thing you can do it beat them at there own game. If you don't have any high level friends online, try yelling in town & see if anyone will help if still no help, if I am on, try pming my character & I know a lot of people who would love to hunt these reds down :)

Well if i respect his way of playing, and i let him enjoy the game kkilling people, why he dont do the same? He likes pking? go and do that whit those that can defend their selves. But not, he comes and kill low lvls, kill me and dont respect my right to enjoy the game. Cause i enjoy the game lvling up and pvping, but, as i said, when i am doing this whit someone that is at my lvl and the victory depends on how good i were fighting. And not when i get pked without posibility of fight for my life. Dont think i am new on this. I have been playing this game since C1 but on private servers. I have been willing to play on a real one for a long time, and now that i can afford this (i dont play from america) i hope to see a diferent behaviour from those that call themselves "pk".
Do u think is honorable go killing a toon 30 lvls lower than you?
You said this is a pvp game. I know that pretty good, i like pvp. But there is no pvp in a fight of a lvl 30 toon against a lvl 60+.
Sory for my english, maybe i am not being so clear.
I just hope to lvl up fast to show him some orc power :)

Everyone knows it's unfair, thats why this thread exsits. A lot of us have one way or another been pked & now that some of us are higher in level we hope to try & prevent it a bit & help the lower level toons out, so they aren't "fighting for their lives." This ia pvp game & although it does say they aren't allowed th threaten or harass you, pkers killing low level toons in there eyes is not considered harassment in anyway! THats all we are trying to tell you. We all hear what your saying & we know it's happening, but it's a matter we have to take into our own hands in order to see any justice be done. :)

I have been willing to play on a real one for a long time, and now that i can afford this (i dont play from america) i hope to see a diferent behaviour from those that call themselves "pk".
Do u think is honorable go killing a toon 30 lvls lower than you?
You said this is a pvp game. I know that pretty good, i like pvp. But there is no pvp in a fight of a lvl 30 toon against a lvl 60+.

oh boy your in for a rough ride.. incase ya had'nt worked out L2 is the FPS of MMORPGS ,Sieghardts is a an increadibly rough server.

You are playing an open PvP game. PKing you, endlessly if desired, is part of this game. That is not against the eula or rules. The parts of eula you quote have long been addressed by the moderators and it extends to outside harrassment. In-game, your toon is free game to any mob or pc that decides to fight you.
Maybe L2 isn't the best game for you?
:eek: As much as i loath the lowbie PKers I can honestly say I'm glad that they don't get banned. What makes this game great is you can PK anyone, anytime, anywhere (almost) IMO the best justice is player justice. Freak and that bunch have got nailed alot of people but then just look at all the high lvl folks willing to pitch in. They aren't just giving lip service. I've seen many of these guys and girls in the lowbie areas patroling.
I know this may be hard to swallow but be glad you can get PKd! Its what makes this game so much fun... REVENGE! :D
