Not entirely! I found out france beat Brazil through the hero chat. It can be useful after all!

It's not trashtalk per se. Just random chatter, kinda like he was using it to replace most of his other chat channels simultaneously.

meh sometimes they're selling gear i can use and i know that since there are so many Inv heros we can sometimes get them to advertise for us. That aside most hero's don't use it that often so it doesn't really get in the way much.

just like you turn on any chat. It is the chat for those who have become heros for the server. It is server wide and dark blue in color.
