View Full Version : Why Should I Keep Playing On Erica?

Ok fellas, whats going on??! the economy if this server is bananas! i almost cant afford to play cuz everything is soooo expensive! i mean come on, grab some sense!
im a BD lvl 57 (20% to go) and its getting to the point where im about to quit this server and start over somewhere else..
everywhere u go there is some party of bots KSing (Kill Steal) ur mobs and even attacking u if u try to do the same to them ( happened to me last night and had to send 8 toons to bot's heavens),then i had to spend an hour working off 10k of karma.. i know it sucks, but i refuse to get killed by some stupid bot program.
the only reason im still playing in this server is because of my good friends (Coolrage,DAFNI,IronWind,IndiraRose,GrenadeJumper and the rest )and clanmates From FateSpinners ( Illathyn,ObsidianButerfly,xSirenx and Alishaa ).
now i ask myself "How Can This Be Fixed?" , not by myself,but there must be some kind of light at the end of the tunnel or i see this server getting to the point when the only players in it will be bots.
i know yall heard all of this before and i understand, but i cant take it anymore,i play this game ONLY, i stopped playing my other games cuz i got hooked in L2 and i wanna keep hooked to it. there is sooo much to do and im starting to feel like in the long run, this server will not be good for me.
and another thing, have u guys noticed how many few players we have? just take a look at the sieges. if u ever have a chance just go and watch one. i did it and then went to another server (Bartz) and noticed a more crowded and more active siege.. ok.. ill stop now,i know only few of u will understand this and some will be like "Dude, just move to another server if u dont like it" , but i dont wanna move, i wanna call Erica "My Virtual Home" and grow my toons stronger and make hero and all that nice stuff that L2 has to offer...

You answered your own reason for why you should stay.... the people. Erica has a lot of problems but the people who stick it out here are really great people.
I wish things were different as well... but we deal with what we have.
I guess the real question is whether or not it's possible for us to make it better and how we can work towards that goal.
There is no doubt that the economy is going to kill erica; no one can possibly make 750 mil adena to buy a weapon in order to compete with ebayers. Truth is I no longer expect anything othere than to play with friends and slowly move up the chain...
I share your concerns and simply do not think of L2 as the same game it was a year ago..

No one has to buy at those ridiculous prices. I know it's not the easiest thing to do but it is possible to gather the materials and craft stuff for yourself. Takes a clan dedicated to doing that though, near impossible to go it alone.
BTW GrenadeJumper will be gone from the game for about a week and a half. Lucky kid is going to Hawaii. :p

lol..there is a long thread about the game's prices and mob drops...search for it under mob drops are too low.
I am hooked on lineage2 as well, but I feel most people will not get the drops needed to take their toon into the next level. With the drop system, a person will out level their equipment and mobs will turn blue and then they will never get a drop.

well fellas, i've decided to keep only my BD on Erica and move to another server.. i've invested so much time on him and brings so many good memories that i refuse to retire him.. i guess i'll be on erica for a long time, as a Dark Elf named ShyRu....

not for free u can't, i still have to buy SS,Pots and scolls. not to mention Grade A gear in 6 more lvls.. so free stuff is out of the question. sorry
but i have some gear i can sell u for cheap,i mean really cheap, if ur a Fighter or Grade D Mage.. PM me sometime this weekend.

only if you are buying adena. This person moving servers for this reason is rediculous.
Use the manor, make millions.
If you can get stuff for free whilelvling, then sell it at really high prices, are you not making money? More than if you had sold those items at lower prices? Some people are really missing the boat here.
Enjoy the other servers ;-)
I've found the manor on Erica to be frustrating...awhile ago when the castles were held by other clans it was good. But lately Gludio and Oren have been frustrating.

Hi, Shyru. It's Tegid. I raided with you a few days back. Don't know if you remember, but anyways, if you're looking to join a new clan, pm me here, and we can talk.
I came over from Lionna, and have went back a few times. Most of the things there are cheaper, but some things are more expensive. The only real consistantly cheap thing there are crystals and shots.
I have also seiged over there quite a few times, and just recently attaned two seiges here. Big difference in the number of people. Here, there were just enough to rush the door. A few of the times on Lionna, I saw seige golems and hog cannons. Quite a sight to see 3 golems and two cannons blasting away on a wall, while 2 - 3 groups go for the door and still at least a full group guarding each flag. Fun stuff.

See the sad thing here is that theres 2 big clans, that realy hold back all the fun :(. i know ive playd this game for 1 1/2 years, and well this server its not how it use to be eny more :confused:. all the fun is with just thos two big clans well the rest of use suffer. i dont play L2 like i use to eny more just cuz of them. and the DAMM BOT's :mad:. so im with you there.

This game has never been easy for anyone that can't stay online 24/7; and no, I'm not talking about "that" program. I'm talking about buying/selling. As long as this game doesn't have offline selling, the dial-up and/or casual player (often the same) is in for a rough ride.
However, making large amounts of money isn't impossible for those that can just stay connected. I have a friend approaching 700m in cash. It's taken him a looong time, but he's doing it. He even manages to have fun with some of his cash along the way.
This game needs an offline selling option. It would benefit everyone.

Giran reminds me of a Midieval Market. Well, since I wasn't alive in 1200AD I don't really know what one was like, but it reminds me of what I think it was like!
Its fun to browse, to grumble at prices, to rejoice in bargins, to run into old friends and chat, to watch your wallet to protect it from cutpurses. In other words, it is fun!
So if the goal of the game is to have fun, let us happily sacrifice a bit of modern efficiency to that goal.
