I remember this being discussed a while back, but don't remember what the verdict was...
Are Nostromo Speedpads and other "alternative input devices" against the EULA?
I'm guessing they're not as the game has options for "gamepad" support...

The question should be "not is it against the EULA" BUT "will gameguard let me use it"? ;)

I've been using the Nostromo N52 Speedpad for over a year.
It's just considered an input device.

I have had mine on for quite a while now. Works. Which when compaired to the Logitech Gamer's keyboard is great, since the keyboard is a dumb keyboard in game :(
NcSoft has said that is just not supported, but it has never been considered against the rules.
Oh, it is a great input device. It really does add alot to the lack of macro's and hotbars in the game, especially if you play something that is a bit more complex than just hit-hit-hit.

I think I remember an official statement that the gamepads are ok. It was a long time ago, maybe before we had these new boards.

Yes it is ok I had unrelated problem and needed GM assistance, mentioned to the Gm that I was using N52 and no further discusion as to the leagality of use. BTW GM was helpfull and tried to answer a few other questions I had.

yeah they basically said if you are at the keyboard pressing the buttons and can reply to the gms its not a third party program
i suspect they really dont know what nostromo is capable of
i dont use it because i duel instance and not duel box but if i did you could expect to see me buffing every 20 minuets on the dot, crafting SS with recharge on 2 clients without ever pressing a button and chat spamming every 2 minuets that i want to sell an item

The N52 is very sweet. I don't use timed macros since it is (imho) way too close to botting. Playing without it sucks badly once you get used to it.

I'm sure at the expected price of $1500+ (£790) and production figures of 400 per month by January 2008, everyone will be buying one of those keyboards. ;)
