I've been on since 1pm GMT and its pretty impossible to play. The server seems to experience some big lag issue (all players on were having huge lags too).
May we have some infos about whats going on Mystril? =)
Thx and have fun on Franz

Yes very bad 15 to 30 sec lag spikes, unplayable :(

I agree. Usually I have no problem at all with lag, but this day I've been barely able to play decently. Hopefully they already know this and are working on this as we write here.

hope they will do something. It would be VERY unpleasant after a 3hrs server down during high play time, a few days ago, a night of lags that makes the game unplayable.
Aye. Game is totally unplayable. Hope they will fix it soon. Seems everyone is having this issue, so have to be something with the server.

Or not. It very well could be their provider.

The team has been investigating the reports of lag on Teon and Franz, but it doesn't appear to be a server issue at this time. Please contact Technical Support (http://support.lineage2.com) if you haven't already for assistance. Thanks!

Mistryl how can u say it isnt a problem with the servers or for that sake your isp. Both servers complain over the lag, and its not like its local, like only players from a certain arear, but its players from all over europe that complains.
u are pushing the responsebility away from u, trying to blame the paying customer here. If it was only me that was lagging, yes then its my problem. but its not only me. so plz come up with a prober answer insted of blaming us. Atleast u could say that u are aware of the problem, and return when u got a solution.

She said to contact NCSoft support. How is that saying it's not their fault?

09-14-2006, 08:23 AM
It may be related to ISPs, which is why it would help for all players to experiencing this issue to contact Technical Support so we can find the cause of the issue. I apologize if you have the impression that "blame" is being placed anywhere -- that is not my intention. Thank you!

What she said was the servers seem to be find that they are not laging, which means that there is some problem that is out of their hands.
You don't expect her to fix the internet do you?

Nah... we get it. We know blame isn't being placed anywhere specifically. We especially know that the blame isn't being placed on the servers... even though everyone else is saying otherwise~
I guess I have to put off the quests for another time. It's a shame too.... I haven't done any quests in this game for years. Whoever's fault it is... I hope their womb falls out

LOL :) cmon guys, problem is obviusly on their ends, too many ppl having the same issue...
Mistryl how can it be that players all over the world are ALL having the same lag problem?
edit: ddnt saw the answer of mistryl :)

i dotn expect her to fix the entire internet, but as i said, dont just say its not the servers, but give a temp message insted and say they will get back when they can pinpoint the problem.

I'm getting occasional disconnects as well as the lag, so I would agree that it's probably not the server. It's more likely to be a router problem.
Has anyone checked the routers Mistryl ?????

From the information she was given the servers are ok, but they are looking into it. What more do you want?

Look the way I see it, the problem is not on the server machines so its not directly their problem, the problem is on the ISP they are cooperating with (except if the ISP is theirs so its NCSofts problem). Anyway my guess is that the ISP that the servers are hosted here in Europe, is suffering from MAJOR packet loss hence the huge lag spikes we are all experiencing...
Maybe NCSoft should consider changing ISP on the Europe machines cause this cannot continue to happen...
Imagine this happening during a siege... Lots of ****** of players :P

They use Level3 for transit, and I even have a Level3 connection myself and its laggy, so its not even using any other network its going straight to where the servers are hosted.
NCSoft need to be speaking with Level3 since they'll be a customer, we can't do anything.

Looks like its a problem within NCSoft's network there in Germany, i'm having no issues running tests against Level3's network before it hits those NCSoft addresses...

This happened a while ago on Lionna, It turns out they had to
change some of the IP addresses on the game servers.
These new IP's didnt propogate to all the routers and switches
down the chain right away. It took more than a month for the
problem to clear up. Unfortunately NCSoft has no control over
the ISP's flushing the cache on all these routers and various hardware.

Same here from Portugal is impossible play with this stupid lag and all the player im finding in dwarvven village: france Uk, Moldavia are getting this **** lag too
yeah same problem here in Denmark.
The lag only exists on Teon and Franz - but it does makes it impossible to hunt - since you get either a) disconnected or b) lag spikes on 10 sec or more - so your most likely dead when you get the "control" again. So please fix this - as this makes it impossible to play :(

I agree it is probably an ISP or Router problem that NCSoft has control of, however, I also beleive we should get extra days added to our accounts for not being able to play. Although I understand that would be rather difficult since they cant be too sure as to who plays on teon/franz.

Yes major lag here too, i keep on getting disconnected from server cos of timeout :(
Some ppl think its cos some guys got banned for the obvious reasons, and are seeking revenge by doing a denial of service attack on Franz.

I thought NCsoft protected themselves against ddosing, sql injects, and the like.
If not.. you'd think it'd happen sooner then this.
TukumiSushi
09-14-2006, 04:07 PM
SQL inject they can protect themselves from, just put the database on a machine that doesn't have direct access to the net, preferably behind another firewall.
Denial of service is more difficult as the attacker can spoof their IP making it difficult to know the source of IP traffic spam.
Anyway its all speculation, the machine might just need a reboot.
