Noob Question: Death Penalty

I just started up a charactor and I died at level 10 which invoked death penalty effect #1. My charactor is now level 14 and two days later I still have death penalty effect. I have not died again so it is still the same penalty. I thought it would just go away on its own or by killing a certain number of monsters. Am I missing something here? Is there something I have to actively do to get rid of the effect of the death penalty?

go to the shop, but a "recovery scroll: non grade" and use it.

thats the ONLY way to get rid of the penalty.

Thanks for the quick answer.

I was worried it might not be fixable because of the stange way I had died. I fell out of the sky if you would beleive and took over a million points of damage.

yeah well they tried to eliminate all those walk-over places, some of them they just inserted fall damage and aggro mobs at the bottom.

i am assuming you died from a mob hitting you once, cause you cant die from fall damage. its like poison or bleed; they dont kill you, just take you to 1 hp.
