...and will any of you also play the new NCSoft game whenever it gets released? I could use a few good friends. The PVPVE thing really peaks my interest.

No its not a spin off of L2.

Far as I know, its designed to be more "casual" friendly, aimed squarly at the western market of a WoW type exp curve.

You can check out Hellrose's site for more info, aionfuse.com , with lots of translated reports, etc.

I don't think it's a spin off, but NC sure has a winged race fetish it seems. I'll give the game a try.

Looks like a similar game, but not related to L2. At any rate, I'll never play another NCSoft game after my experiences with them in L2. I don't care if Aion's the best game ever, NCSoft is often horrible. And if it uses GG, lol...I'll never touch another game with that piece of 923. I only stay here in L2 because of my friends.

I'm looking forward to it, primarily because it gives everyone a chance to start off on a more or less equal playing field. I realize some gamers with lots of time on their hands will have a bit more of an advantage over those of us who have less time to play, but that's fine by me. I just want a new thrill...or rather, the thrill that comes from playing something that is new.

Will they put Euro servers right from the start? Or server transfer later ... :(
Edit: Later =/= in something like C12.

I wouldn't call it a spin off of l2 because I think it may be better...

Will I play it? Most likely, but it will depend on a few things, such as what kind of PC will I need? Will I be able to get into beta, or will they have a 14 day free trial?

The game looks amazing. So far the only thing that seems to rival L2's artwork/graphics. The idea of aerial combat is novel.

Along with Hellrose's site, you can also check out aionsource.com which sometimes gets a few drop in visits from an employee for NCsoft working on Aion.

they have a team for Aion based out of their offices in Europe, so it would be safe to assume they'll have euro servers from the start. :)

Well, the NC representative on AionSource indicated that they haven't decided how their server structure will work yet. They are asking the fans their opinions on a few things though such as whether or not players from an opposing realm (it is a realm vs realm game) should be able to converse and whether or not players whose language is not english would prefer the classes to be translated to their language. Also, whether the classes should be "fighter", "mage" etc or something more world specific like L2's class names such as Abyss Walker, Spellhowler, etc.

dude you can count on me.

When I finally learn they are Doing the beta test for it, I'm canceling my L2 acc's and going to play Aion.

I just hope to god they don't Add GG to Aion...or I will leave NCsoft behind for ever....
