" Video game publisher THQ and tabletop game publisher Games Workshop have already enjoyed great success since 2004 with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, the popular real-time strategy game based on the gritty and brutal Warhammer 40,000 sci-fi universe. The game has given rise to two expansion packs, the most recent of which won GameSpot's award for Best Expansion Pack of 2006 and remains a popular title with strategy enthusiasts.
Today, the two publishers are announcing an extension to their licensing agreement to work together on new projects, including a Warhammer 40,000 massively multiplayer online game. The first hints at such a project came last November, when Relic Entertainment, developer of the Warhammer 40,000 real-time strategy series, posted a want ad for MMOG developers. As it turns out, though, another studio--Austin, Texas-based Vigil Games, will be working on the new project, which should not be confused with the swords-and-sorcery MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. "
At last !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably the only MMO i'd play besides L2 !
(and of course Star Wars if they start it all over again with a new MMO studio)
Hell yes! This news has made my day.

If they have a "paint your own model" option, I might jump ship.
I kid, I kid. :p
Seriously though, I loved painting those models. :o

I've heared that there will be no space marines and necrons in that mmorpg. Ofc that wont stop me from checking out the game on trial account...
I wonder if my pc will be able to run the game properly, but i guess its to early to ask for system requirements.

Hey you know what ?
I think WH40K will be compatible with Vista, unlike Lineage II :)

I'm not into this whole operating system stuff, but i don't uderstand why some people are rushing towards vista, especially those people who play games... and alot. IMO im staying with my xp until... until... bah
The greatest flaw of vista is that you cant have illegal programs on your pc when using it (i'm are 100% legal...no, really... and NO, i'm not saying this with sarcasm).

Not in the same sence as the other deamons. I think that they turned him to a demon status in the revised version of 40k. Dont remember what it said in the old Eldar codex ^^
Avatar is the embodiment of Khaela Mensha Khaine, the God of War for Eldars. Who died or some such if I remember right.
Anyway, been a long time since I read any of the codex^^

Trust me, the Avatar was always a Daemon, since RT days.

Could be GREAT figh against another orks to be the biggest and strongest one so they can call u the only Warboss orks armies allow...
The biggest and strongest will be the boss and only one boss can exist!"

" When talking about the Warhammer 40K MMO that is being developed. Erik [Mogensen, from Games Workshop] said the first thing that GW wants for players is "a really good MMO at the end of the day." THQ has had success with its Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War series and seem to be working very well with the IP. Vigil Games is the development studio with the task of building the game itself. GW plans to work closely with Vigil to oversee all aspects of the game. In the end GW will have full approval rights over Warhammer 40K. Erik said they do have a veto power, but he never looks at it that way. When working on a game he said that it usually never gets to that point. The developers work closely with GW throughout the process to present the Warhammer worlds in the best way for both teams. Erik mentioned that the development process is almost always a very positive atmosphere.
GW and Vigil hope to make sure every element of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is somehow represented in the game. As many know, this is not an easy task. Obviously some tough choices have to be made in regards to playable races, game interface, setting, and format (first person shooter, or third person RPG style). Both companies seem to have their sights in the right place as far as delivering the best MMO possible. On a side note, THQ also added the rights to Necromunda and Gorka Morka as part of the contract. For those who do not know, they are side games in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Check out the Games Workshop site for details. "

Right now it is fun and isn't fun.
Alot of things are still missing and are being added in the next big patch.
Its kinda like L2 and other games. has a bounty system which I think is really nice and grabbed me.
All in all its worth the money to me. (leveling isn't that hard)

Money? Archlord is F2P. You pay, what, $20 for the game?
It can be a fun game, though, I played it in Beta for awhile.

Hmm, fascinating RP opportunities there.
I wonder if they'll let us play Inquisitors or Sisters of Battle?
