View Full Version : Interlude skills at site.

It's been 2 months since interlude update, and the skills at the site are still C5. Can you please update them? Or we must wait another Cronicle for site update?

jkoster

We probably need to wait for a web designer to be brought onto the team.

If I recall correctly, Mistryl was doing a lot of the web work, and there is currently an opening for their web team on the NCSoft employment page.

It's not that we wait until the next update so much as we wait for the cubicles to be filled.

Any update on this?

What you talking about the c5 items and skills that were added then are not in the database, unless you count the posting in the news tab. If they would get their act together we might be able to get some new players.

Who would start a new to a game when the people running it don't care enough to even update their site more than once a year?

Spudnik

cry more.

the items and skills databases are interlude compatible at a lot of other fansites. do yourself a favour and get to know these fansites as often they will have info re: new patches etc before they arrive.

Who here is crying??? How many times have you seen a post about there being no population?? Or the lack of new players coming into the game?? It is a fact that the site is way out dated, to the fact that it looks like there is nothing being done with the game. Who would start playing a game that the people running it cant update their site with the info that was released last year??

Yes I know and use the fan sites, what really matters anyways. You should try doing something other than just coming into a post and flaming away.

Fact is the site is overly outdated, but that just shows the difference of the NA servers to the Koren one.

everyone knows that official game sites NEVER list the details of the game - the official sites only offer glimpses into the world.

WOW's website, MXO, COV/COH, GW, even official sites for FPS games do not offer compendiums of complete libraries.

to ask this is to ruin the game.

to keep the website 1 update behind = good planning. the players who are really looking for this info can find it from fellow players.

WOW's fanbase created skill indexes, and talent trees long before they were "proper" on official sites.

so honestly, go cry emo noob.

Kachme

Actual they were around long before WoW ever existed. And several other games I played actually updated their sites shortly after that made changes in game.

Just remember WoW wasn't the first mmog. UO was around long before and is still going. EQ Updated theirs as the expansions came to. Yes, at first they are vague but over a couple months they would update them completely.

This site isn't just 1 conical behind its 2. The skills and items haven't been updated sense c4.

Actually skills are updated to C5.

There is nothing wrong about asking when the website gets updated. And yea I think that we wount see anything before they get a webmanager, If I dident have to move to austin I would get the job ASAP :D

Look at Korean version of L2 site. There is so much info! Even where the mobs are!

This is no glimpse of world. They started listing weapon, armor sets, skills, so they should continue with it, and not stop at c4.

Spudnik, think sometimes, not you are... to NCSoft... ==" Ruin the game, LOL. Obviously Koreans don't think so, yet you must be more saint than the Pope.

If the fans make something more proper than the official site, then it's something wrong with the official site. And with the people working there.

The korean site is supported by around a million players, while the NA site is only supported by around 80.000 players. Can't really expect that much data there.

I think we are talking about a relatively small update, I think a decent web designer would add the skills in less than 2 days of work. You could just hire a freelancer to do it, instead of getting one into your staff...

80,000 x $15 = 1,200,000 each month, I would hope they could hire a Web guy within an annual budget of 12 million dollars.

gotta laugh at this,

what was the NA figure? 32million grossed from 2006 if i saw it correctly somewhere, so there is 20mill from game sales and "non players", and most of it will be from non players :>

Been wondering about this site and it not being updated for a long long time now (could be me).

If I was the new CM I would atleast update the team bios section or have it updated if the website is not part of my job as CM.

In short reasons for updated:
1# It would prevent us newbies/returning players from wondering who you are.. (I know almost impossible to NOT notice when people read the forum).
2# It would show (to me) you take pride in your work keeping things crispy etc and what not.

So Alyra show some pride will you and update atleast that part asap. (Well, unless you think this is an in-between job ofcourse)

I wish I could show you all my to-do list. It's a couple pages long. ^^; Updating the team bios section is definitely on my list, and is one of the more important things on it. As far as the site itself is concerned, we're currently solidifying our update process for quests, items, and that sort of thing.

I also mentioned in another thread that I'll be opening up a forum section for The Chaotic Throne: The Kamael a little closer to the update's release on the Korean PTS.

-----------------------

Errr,

When then?

I'm trying, believe me. (I can understand why it might not look that way.) If it were something that I and I alone could do, it'd be done by now. >.<; Without going into too much boring detail about how web stuff gets done, I do write the web content, but anything database related, I work with the web team to get implemented.

As for The Chaotic Throne forum, let me double check on that. I should be able to open it up very soon.

Lovely then, looking forward to it.

Small suggestion here.
Lay off the trail accounts for abit. With mass PM's and what not going on you do not want to pile even more stuff on your "things-to-do-list".
Same goes for your co-workers.

(Btw I like boring details. The more the better as it gives me a better inside of what goes on.)
(Btw2 I would start myself with the adding of a CT1-thread so people can write the info they have into it and start their speculations/insides ***-bits etc. Hell who knows you could cut and past from it while you get the content sorted.)

Just a suggestion

before you release a new chronicle, make sure everything in library is updated to that chronicle.
Then when the chronicle is released u can watch the brand new website while you wait for the game to be updated.

Spudnik

time for reading comprehension. we want the skills HERE for 2 reasons, nobody in L2NA respects the Koreans in the first place let alone has the time energy and patience to learn korean. we have no respect because Korea does not respect US. respect is a two way street.

also, bringing the skills to THIS website makes it easier for us to use only 1 site instead of 3 or 4 to gather information.

one step towards a healthier friendship between L2NA and L2KR would be mutuality of information. it seems when Korea gets a Patch everyone has to translate it for themselves or find someone who Reads Korean to tell us what changes occurred.

dont tell me learn korean. korea needs to learn english.

I notice, that on the Korean site, they list how much SP you need per skill level. That'd be really cool, if they could include that when they update this site.

There are plenty of sites on the internet (in English) with updated skill lists, items etc. but I guess it is a bit odd that one must consult other websites for information about their game.

IMO translating eveything is child's play for NCSoft, so I fail to see why they don't do it. Updating the site is child's play also.
I work in e-commerce and web development, and doing this is CHILD'S PLAY on every accountable level.
Even paying a profesional translator to do all the texts is cheap if *dear GOD no* they don't have a koreean that speaks english very well or vice versa.

So, should i repeat myself once more? :)

You are basically implying that they don’t want to keep the NA Lineage][ site updated. That it would be very easy to maintain the NA “Official” Lineage][ website if they actually wanted it current. I find this hard to believe, why would they not “want” current and relevant information on the Official Site?

We already have that on Stratics, and any future updates to it will include this too (and any other cool features you guys can come up with).

Expect Interlude skills in the not too far off future and in all likelyhood we should have CT1 skill too.

Well, that's a thought, but honestly, what are they doing? Makes no sense whatsoever, i wonder if this is somewhere in the project list in their offices even, and with a status to "N/A" ?? :(. Wish i knew Korean well, i would email them the work done, that's how much i like Lineage 2 :(.

Please folks at NCSoft, update the site before we hit CT1, or are you going to give us the site updated after CT1? :)

This is hardly an excuse for the long delay. And in any case, this is not the community's concern. If the CM doesn't have enough time to do it and NC needs to hire a new person (on permanent or temporary base), by all means, they should do so.

We pay money and we expect some things from the game. If we don't find them, we simply walk away.

It could be, if I may play devil's advocate here, that the web team works on every product site, so they are updating everything found at plaync.com (including Guild Wars and its expansions, Co*, L1, L2, etc).

I'm not excusing them (if anything, I'm saying they need more people). But it could be that they are busy with the other projects and, quite simply, we weren't a priority (shameful, if that's the truth).
