Well I have an idea.

I see that alot of posters have the game info in their sig.'s. IE: chr name, class, clan, alt's.

What I was thinking was do something like my clan does on their home page.

the suggestion:
Make it so instead of loc under players name.
Server: ....
chr Name: ........
Class: ......
Clan: .....
level: .....
Alts: .....

Then that way we don't have to see sig's with 5alts and a main, and can use it for quotes, etc.
We shouldn't have to use the loc. to state what class we are. or a small wording. I suggest removing loc. or make it a on/off option.

IE:
Server: Bartz
Chr name: InfernalWrath
Class: plains walker
Clan: ironforge
level:61+
loc: usa, U.K., etc.

all of this should display under their avatar, and post count.

Why not. Sounds fair enough to me. Having a server field would be cool also.

I'll see if that's something that is possible to change in the forum software. Thanks for the great idea!

Newer boards (my favorite being VBulletin) supports quite a number of things... including everything mentioned..

But these boards, we'll have to find out

I'm told that this particular forum program doesn't have the option to change the info beneath the character avatar. The only option would be to create a new tool to allow those changes. We're going to be looking into possible new forum programs that would support this kind of feature. I'd like to get this implemented one way or another, but it'll take time either way.

Patients is a virtue..

May i suggest vbulletin if you looking at alternative forum software? (imo, the easiest, most powerful, most flexible forum software that can ACTUALLY operate as a full fledge webpage and would probably make it much easier to add new things to a database for say library for the game info and other such things......

Flash is a very VERY big secuity issues.....

As it requires some pretty critical secuity features to be disabled and some features that open up alot of holes to be enabled...

idk can you really sneak much into a computer using flash?
not really sure if you could execute anything in the way of dangerous code just using flash. activeX on the other hand....

Trust me... i can talk to 3 people RIGHT NOW.. that could probably manage something.. while not strickly FLASH baised, but what flash requires to run, would allow other such things to run as well..

However on the site that doesn't allow flash anything for other people, it's only for privilaged users, and they can't submit it themselves.. they have to give it to an admin to look over.. and approve it first.. and then implement it themselves..... with zero user ability to modify....

I kinda like that my forums character is separate from my in-game characters.

Flash and active-x aren't a plus imo.
Forums where people go whole-hog on avatars and sigs quickly you can't harldy see any of the discussion, not to mention all the broken links and laggy load times.
