Hello everyone
I recently subbed tyrant and I was wondering what would be the best setups to use to level it. I got it to level 50 already but people are telling me to use this and that and I really dunno what to do. For now I'm using +9 fisted blades with haste and a plated leather set. No tattoos. I also have a dual boxed SE that is same level as me.
What would be the best armor and weapon to use for C, B and A grade ? And also what tatts. Some tyrants also told me to try AOE and that it was nice. If so what would be the armor / tatts to use for it? :)

what you use now in C will do for AOE until A grade believe it or not. STR is what makes your skills crit.
to aoe, focus force as much as you can and get MIGHT buffs as much as possible, go to a big room of 1x mobs (doesnt work on higher X mobs - aoe skills arent potent enough even fully levelled. btw only get from lvl 1-4 of each aoe skill, the MP cost to use it is tremendously too high after that - and some just use lvl 1) make sure the mobs are white/green con. use wolf, run and pull the aggro mobs to the place your SE box chooses to sit. no worries for VR on this one, just keep the recharge handy. when wolf is about to recharge, pop Bear. keep running for a bit let the mobs catch up to within the 2nd circle on your radar and fire off Force storm (the ranged aoe nuke) and quickly kite. even with SS spam (which triples the power of all your skills now) you wont drop them in 1 hit. before Bear wears off, cast force storm again until the mob train dies.
this method is useable to "continuous train" mobs that are aggro 1x and effectively 2shot them. the first hit will take them down to 3/4 hp.
do yourself a favour, use GSAP and Zerk if you can get it. the Atk speed recharges your skills faster so you can spam faster. but you knew this already ;)
i dont usually reccommend a tattoo setup for a tyrant, but some say -dex +str if youre going to keep the PL set. as i said your skills crit more often with higher value of STR.
in your B grades seeing you probly would like to free up some inventory space for something other than shots, get either BW light (highest Pdef light armor and best Mp pool/regen/Mdef for your money) or doom light as the traditional tyrants do. if you get the BW set, dont use VR. why? well you are better off with RSK haste fists anyway (faster atk speed, keeps you from the monotonous point-click-watch mob bleed to death routine.) which also give you inherently faster atk speed. i would go Bellion Cestus rsk haste.
in A its again a toss up. some do Tallum Heavy. some tallum light, some DC heavy, some DC light, others actually Maj light believe it or not. and then some as well who are pve focused are NM light for inherent VR. these guys are complete numbnuts tho. you DONT want VR if youre using RSK haste or Bison totem. and since all the high lvl tyrants use bison (not Hawk) it would be fair to say never use vr at all.
in A (and S) use Health fists. why? well Bison gets to the good bit at 30% HP, and Zealot can be used at this point too. you want the most HP left over at 30% so you dont die so easily. at 68 some decide to leave the STR tattoo for a +Con tattoo too. this also boosts your HP by a lot and helps you survive easier in pvp vs stunshot etc. but not by much.
for pvp at any level i have posted already a great method, but one that consumes a lot of MP in the process.
you need to focus up,and puma, try to have Zealot up too, be buffed to the wazoo for atk speed, and USE YOUR TOGGLE!!
launch your Long range blaster (force storm), try to charge in for Cripple+force burst+force blaster+Soul breaker+swing. try to watch at this point what your opponent is doing. if he runs away tail him and keep blasting. if he stands and fights, remember to stun first, and if it fails always cripple. it seldom doesnt land. at this point you should have at least the 60% HP required to see some effect of Bison so throw it and keep tailing your target until you can smack him around. sparingly, cp spam. i say sparingly because you WANT your hp to bleed off to the 30% where its goodbye charlie with Bison up. if you are completely buffed however, you wont make it that far and usually your target will be already dead.
this works vs melee and casters who dont have Curse of doom. physical silence means either bsoe or die. vs caster remember to take Mdef buffs, and use Wolf to run up to them, stun + cripple, and use puma to start fighting. stun seldom DOESNT land on a caster. and your skills all work through the shield they carry. no worries. most of them drop all CP from one blaster. by the time youve shot off Storm+blaster+whatever else you choose to fire, theyre down.
in B grades the BW is great vs casters. youll pretty rarely get anchored/para'd too.
try the AOE thing in Pavel ruins. works marvellously. head to the outer+inner courts of Archaic lab, frozen labyrinth, and youre set from 50-60. 60+ try to hunt with your clan. its pretty tough from 60-68 without Haste/RSKhaste fists.
hope this helps.

Well by AOE I meant...with a pole =O

lol, in a pole group? ok, you pull, run into the corner, and blast force storm once and let the poler smack them for an easy vr-less pole group.
tyrants cant use poles. their skills dont work with it. it would be silly at best. your skills are far more powerful than any poler could ever dream of thunderstomping out.
best buffless aoe group is a dwarf, a tyrant and a destro.
stick the destro down, and the tyrant, let the dwarf run around pulling mobs onto them. destro swings once, tyrant blasts once, dwarf swings once, instant 50 mob death.
and nobody uses ghp's either. the dwarf maybe ww2, the tyrant maybe a scroll of might (maybe) but it doesnt take much more than self buffs.
edit:
another good pole group is sws+tyrant. sws singing speed runnin round pickin up a train, come into the corner, sing hunter, swing (any SA works for this, health works best tho) and tyrant blast Storm+burst = dead again 50mob train.
take a sorc and a tyrant out for an aoe session, what do you get? a pulling tyrant and a standing sorc. pull to corner, blast once, sorc follows with auraflash/rain of fire/blazingcircle whatever one they choose. and again dead 20 mobs (magic aoe limited to 20 mobs, and 15 in CT1).
its so **** easy to set an aoe party up for a tyrant. with a prophet, greater might and a PL set (+extra 5 STR tattoo) makes it easier to crit skills on the higher con mobs. 2x and 3x arent so tough to aoe with prophet's greater might (or war chant) and highly OE'd fists.

pretty sure there are limits on how many mobs you can hit with blaster (like all skills)

[/ QUOTE ] o rly ? force blaster, hurricane assault, force burst and force storm can all crit. and blah says STR affects the crit rate of glad/tyrant skills. while it doesnt give too much into about numbers, check this (http://www.l2guru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83672&highlight=tyrant+skill+crit ) out. everyone there who has a tyrant says the same thing and only one figure is posted as to exact numbers. 23% with +9 str. so you SHOULD be critting your skills around 1/5 times.

doesnt matter what you levels are. only what value your STR is at.
if you arent critting, you arent using a skill that CAN crit in the first place.
Stun does not crit.

well just use a pole there is no use for you to run around with a mob train after you when you can just get a pole and go to a cata and get 5+ lvl's aday using a pole, all you need is a SE, i'v lvled my SR like that got 4 lvl's same day as i subed.
and speaking about tyrants in NM light armor, even if you use bison that is a good armor, it dosnt give you so much back that you are gaining HP, but just keeps you form useing healing pots all the time, i know a few tyrans that use it and they hunt fine just with a boxed prophet.
so i'll say save you healing pots for l8r, and go NM light.

Yea I wanted to try AOEing with a pole but wonder what tatts I should get for that. I kinda lowered my con for exping with fists since I have a SE and with VR I never really need the hp. Always at 100% hp with VR or close enough. Have to use a pot once every 5 minutes <.<
I suppose I whould get all my con back for solo AOEing but what would be the best tatts for it else than that ?

i think you sould just leave ur tats as they are, and use wolf when you pull and baer or ogre when you kill, im not sure tho, try it out and see how it gos^^
maybe a +4 dex -4 con would be good for the extre atk speed/crit rate, but i dont think it is needed
