I am going to sub a WC & I have a lvl 55 Great Wolf I can use to solo with.

If the wolf will be doing most of the damage, is it better to just gear up the WC in Nuker/Buffer Robe gear & just heal/buff the wolf ?

Or spend the $ on fighter gear ?

I already have C-S Grade Robe Sets & good mage weapons.

WC is not nuker. nuker`s spells cost 4-5 times less MP, for an example.

you can use Life Drain to keep you alive

you can do tanking with your WC, and let the wolf do the DD part, go on PL+6 (for boosted MP regen) and fighters weapon with focus (sword perhaps, i didn't try with 2 handed sword, and daggers, dualswords etc are not prefered)

your lvl-ing spot must be with 1x HP mobs or 2x with slightly weak Pdef

a tip. do a timing between the buffs, this will give you time to regain MP and if you lucky, you can pick good herbs who will help you with MP regen (also you can try talismans, i heared somewhere that they just do the right, but i`m not sure if you had to make Drain .. this is something that you can ty ;) )

afterall everything is an options if your wolf can handle the mobs, keep your robe, but go for +STR if you want to be DD (for an example 74 WC self buffs kesh+focus(only that) PL+6, the other items are common .. exping spot - BS near the "water pools" usually i hit for 300, but crit for 1100 (172 crit if i`m correct))

I have never liked tanking with the wolf. There's just no way to heal it efficiently as WC. If I were you I would put on BW heavy and use a focus weapon. A +4 str tattoo wouldn't hurt either. Anything that keeps your wolf from tanking is good :)

If the Wolf has full gear it will massacure lvl 40/50 area's. At lvl 60 if u have vr by that time it should still be ok up to the mid 60's. After that u will have to tank for the wolf since u have no way to effectivly heal it.

I did just about the same thing you with the sub, butI mostly raised my wolves with a WC.

since your wolf is higher then once you sub. Dont worry taking too may hits. Stock up on enough Gsaps to get you to haste level2 GHP's or being smart with shop Hp pots till you get a decent VR.

Ok so your C grd. I did Theca and a Axe w/e that top C axe is and I went with Common. No need for Sa's but you can if you like.

Now once B and I use this setup even now. Bluewolf light and Conversion weapon now you should have plenty of Mana even at 63+ when noobie are gone. You shouldnt be taking anyhits anyway and if you take too much Essence.

Now I would suggest farm while you can and d-level I did this alot with my Alt WC. Get good buffs and d-level back around 4 levels. Better buffs on weaker and still growing wolf makes for easier farming and less of everything used.

Now is you find yourself in a mana jam for w/e reason pick up the cheapest common A crap robe you can, this should be more then enough to get your mana fix in. Yes I know, no bonus who cares you dont really want it for that just the mana bonus.

Now if you like I wuold say use a blunt always screw using a dagger it dont stun and for certain it's Matk is lower so it's up to you, but I wouldnt be caught dead with one. Well besides buffer one but that another story.

So to sum it up light armor, axe for better mob control dont matter which one at C. Also Gsaps, GHPS or Hp pots from store. Down the road do dye's I nerfed STR I can only say I don't need it for my own personal reason's.

So anyway HF and GL

This is coming from a 73 OL perspective but I level with VR 4 (SE 73) and Great Wolf 58 top gear.

When I was using my +3 Soul Sep. w/crit dmg I realized I was missing a lot and the wolf was hitting for more than I was. Since his dmg output was higher than mine he was taking agro from me and then eithe dying because of ridiculous crit's etc or stun on my SE.

Now I am using +5 Dam*Tal Augmented with 13 crit. and I noticed that mobs drop much quicker than before! not to mention my wolf does not die as often ^_^ (currently 58 and 45%).

As for Armor choice I would say heavy so you can take that extra dmg when you out fighting, ultimately making you a tank-that-does-not-have-agro-skills ;P

My wc often has vitality to burn so thinking about solo`ing it with my great wolf a little to even the levels and vitality with my destroyer.

My wc is 62, wolf 65.

Any solo leveling tips would be appreciated.

Use robes, u want the casting speed.

Dreaming spirit is ur best friend. The wolf has no problem fighting one mob at a time, so make sure it does. No servitor is supposed to tank multiple mobs prior to 76 and elemental defense.

+6 BW light Set. You will have casting Speed and enough P defense 2 tank.

Then get a Blunt, with you tanking the Mob you will get back mp fast even with soulcry on all the time and you can chain Stun which will keep the wolf from needed 2 many heals.

Robes are not needed. I'm 76+ and never run out mp and my Soulcry is always on.

In fact just with the Gear you see me on with Here (http://home.comcast.net/~ashleymivida/MiVida.jpg) and a 74 Wolf I can solo the first 8 Mob rooms at Dark Omens. If I transform to a Tiger I don't even need 2 heal the wolf because then the Mobs stay on me because I have 40 STR and AOE fear.

dreaming spirit is very useful indeed, and you can use it on single mob combat if you just want to lower it's dps by forcing it to stop attack for a moment...

My 2 adenas.
1. I would suggest to skip leveling with a wolf till you are in 5lvls range with wolf. If wolf is higher it, will take much more exp and you grind will be slow.
2. most of you forgot that wc can play as dd. There are few things to mention: normal hits returns some portion of mp. So mana is not a problem for ginding wc anymore. Toggle on soulcry, hit mobs even higher and get your mana after buff round even faster (1-2min). Soulcry + dager would be nice, but you mis a lot of hits. You may try to invest to fist weapons+soulcry.

Best exp strategy is when wolf with vr will keep his hp at max. You can reach this by hunting green mobs. Keep in mind that 55lvl great wolf damage dealing is near like 70lvl damage dealer. Ok, wolf can not tank as 70lvl char :) So duo with wolf is like duo with 70lvl char. Leave herb areas, go to x2, x4 areas.

I leveled a WC/GW from 40/58 to 70/76. WC had brig+6 at early 40s, now is in common robes with tsu*sls+4, GW has top gear.

At start (i.e. without good heal and/or VR) the trick was to start hitting a mob with the WC and then command the wolf to attack.

At level 70 in Swamp of Screams (@needles), the wolf barely loses some health and my WC lazily follows around, doing just "next target/petattack" (plus a few hits after rebuffing to fill up).

Melee is more or less your only way since with the MP VR the WC never ever runs oom.

My wc is 62, wolf 65.

Any solo leveling tips would be appreciated.
Swamp of Screams, but since you don't have targeted heals you must be a bit careful.

With the above setup, I found the GW 58 to be a superb power leveler for my WC 40

I fought same way when I sub'ed to AW. Difference is that mine wolf was 64lvl. Can't control it till 19lvl difference. When I reached 45lvl with AW tried to duo with G wolf in 50+ catas.
Easily could clear 2 rooms, but exp was ~20k per mob. Not much if you keep in mind that it were x4 mobs. So wolf "eats" most of exp. I found better solo place at alligator island and future spots, and started to use wolf when I reached 62lvl with AW.

Not to forget to mention, I prefer x4 x5 or even x6 areas to herb areas -> good exp per mob, mobs dies really fast, not so many running as in herb areas.
