July is rapidly approaching and we've got an event headed your way! I dont know about that. I blew up a weapon going from +2 to +3 (just kidding) and failed to enchant my skills with a 97% chance for success. So I may have you beat!!

The rewards will be set for each level of enchantment. If you turn in a +20 for example, you'll get one of the 3 +20 rewards. (All of which are of the same type, no low rewards mixed in)

This sounds like a sweet event, thanks NC! It's nice to finally have an event that rewards you based on your accomplishment, rather than pure luck (even if it requires pure luck to hit that accomplishment!).

I'm curious as to whether or not enchanting for this event can be compared to regular enchanting? If that's the case, wouldn't the maximum OE be +24? Or is that not the limit in regular OE'ing either (it's the highest I've personally seen)?

You take a weapon,for 1000 adena.You start OE,and you think that +17 is enough for your stomach and you decide to return it to Yoda.He rewards you depending on the OE +++ you got.
someone else maybe try for +23,the rewards will be better here.

You maybe "broke" it on +3----->+4,you buy a new weapon and start all over again.

Weird thing is,,,, I was looking for C crystals one day and I didn't see anyone selling them anywhere around. So I had like 10 EWC from the cubics in my wh and I had to buy a Top C from Giran store. My goal was to get crystals from it. I went all the way to +10... ROFL.... first time for me :S other than that, I broke aobas, damascus, FB going to +4

Dont get too excited till we see, the reward / tiers for different enchants. Its not a detailed enough description of rewards. Always vague. I hope this doesnt give alot of peoples hopes up.

i am sure no one will ever get s grade or s 80 stuff, the santa event was the best so far because of the good buffs you got and i never heard anyone getting 1 of the +10 weapons that is all talk no show, but atleast they are trying to keep everyone here lol

Thanks for the update :D The enchant levels for the rewards look pretty reasonable as long as the weapon enchant formula is used. One question though, are the rewards totally random or will we get to choose which we want? For example for +20, do we get to choose what color crystal or do we get a random color?

enchants D and C at least shouldnt be reward on event's anymore, that Wondrous Cubic allready gave me too much D and C enchants, i would rather prefer buff potions :> tier 4~7 prices are better than 8~11 eheh :D

Success rate to get anything good (+13) +14 or over

to get to +14 you have lets say around in the best of time 150 trials (~120 trials if you in each and every time succeds going to +13 and blows on +14)

150 trials * 0.7%^14 success rate equals to 1set of +14 weapon

Lets say you want to go for +22 or +23 (0.1%, 0.08%) then you need around

6-7 accounts for +22 and 8-9 accounts for +23 if you still have 150 trial sets...

If you sell each enchant scroll for lets say 50 k adena then you can get on one account around 67 m adena...

If you can buy enchants for a price of 50k to 75k adna then..

1 S80 armour and s80 weapon would cost around 400 to 700 m adena

Better to sell enchants or to buy enchants? Hmm this time its a hard question.. but as always if you have the spare adena to go for it...

The "Chest" Is non tradeable it has yet to be determined if whats inside is tradeable. Reason being say you get a chest its like getting a lvl 1 bag back in the other event big reward but its random so you sell the bag instead of opening it if you dont need it to split the difference with this event you cant do that gotta open it yourself

i expect the shadow hats to not be tradeable, as most shadow items are not.

but... for some recent events, the Event hats were also not tradeable...

if the OE chances are like these for normal weapons, I doubt there will be many stuff over +17.

jfyi after +15 OE is very low chance, like 16% or something like that.

with 1300 scrolls one can get for the duration of the event per acc, probably a couple of +16 will be possible, but over that, very unlikely. this is logical because as you see teh prizes that DO matter only start from +20. the rest is mostly being sold for the price of crystals, except for S grade armor but EWS is better than that considering chances...

That would be more in favor of the farmers than the way the event is set up. The farmers would just farm 49403928 scrolls by the end of the event and then spend a week enchanting staffs to +4, they still have a low chance to get S80+ items just like anybody else, but the fact that they have so many resources puts them ahead of everyone else : /

Except it's a mage weapon, so if they didn't touch the code, the success rate is 40% up to +15 and 20% after that. That said they could have changed the rate specificly for that staff and that Enchant Weapon Scroll, but if they did it like they put the C letter or the new rewards for the squash event... you know what I mean.

No blessed scrolls were promised, it was just said another event was coming.

Well Blessed scrolls were mentioned they were not put in as a drop in last event. That was why they were launching this new event to begin with.

So you mention blessed scrolls and than have no blessed scrolls. Its a communication issue not anyones direct fault imo. Alot better rewards depending on the enchanting luck.

I hope we get alot of people with great rewards. But ill believe it when i see it =).

If we count with success rate 2/3 for OE and ench price 77k then we can see that prices are I would say normal for Phoenix economic. But on Teon for example people with a lot of money will be be still in plus according statistics. I am not very happy with sellable event items. Especially when price is shared on all servers.

I'm guessing all accessories that actually have any grade, in this case S, (i.e. Jewelry, Belts, Bracelets).

who told you that crap about different enchant success rate?

In-game experience. Different item type (fighter weapons, mage weapons, jewelry, armor) have different success rate for enchants. Try to get an armor set to +6, and then we'll see what you think of "2/3 success rate per enchant" :D

I did not believe it at first, either - but my experience trying to get dozens of D grade jewelry and armors higher than +4 or +5 convinced me that there is no general "2/3 success" rule. And it is easier to enchant e.g. a dagger to high + and then switch it to a mage weapon instead of directly enchanting the mage weapon.

Stuff with "(shadow)" written on it is shadow and decays. Stuff with "(event)" written on it has "(event)" written on it ingame and that's it. Like the birthday hat.

Does the S weapon/armor "Event" means that after the event the item dissapear? or remains in game it just cant be trade and have the title "Event" on it?

Also They should remove the D Enchanted scrolls... at this point in game, that kind of reward doesn't benefit anybody at all... the cubic quest gives more than enough of D scrolls, I have hundreds in my wh, waiting for somebody to buy them, no gonna happen..., so is kind of unnecessary to have that in the reward list.

Also the Life stones should be remove all over and be replace by something more useful, because of farmers, the life stone market has lose its value so much, that is not worth a dim. Only ebayers buy them for more than 10mil, that already is just too much.

Red, Green, Blue Soul Crystal - Stage 11,12,13

should be add to the list, you know there are people that cant afford a S-grade weapon and only have A-grade item at best at level 76.


Other than that, everything is good, so good event.

If some suggestions from this thread can actually reach the CM it will be wonderfull and a good start for a new CM, showing that is capable of editing the event to reflect our player base, the previous two events were a failfure because of the lack of knowledge of the people running them, not been able to actually correct the problem, by turnning off the servers, making the right adjustments, and then turning them on, but thats another story.

I see that there are a few questions about the "Event" items that are listed. These items are not shadow items nor are they temporary. The (Event) text that you see does not indicate anything other than where the item came from. All of these items will last on past the end of the event.

At the end of the event on July 14th, only the Master Yogi Staff and Master Yogi Enchant Scrolls will disappear. All other items (including the event chests) will remain after the event.

In-game experience. Different item type (fighter weapons, mage weapons, jewelry, armor) have different success rate for enchants. Try to get an armor set to +6, and then we'll see what you think of "2/3 success rate per enchant" :D

I did not believe it at first, either - but my experience trying to get dozens of D grade jewelry and armors higher than +4 or +5 convinced me that there is no general "2/3 success" rule. And it is easier to enchant e.g. a dagger to high + and then switch it to a mage weapon instead of directly enchanting the mage weapon.

For armors the enchant rates are different, IE +3 to +4 is different success rate than +4 to +5 (its lower as you go higher).

And farther more when talking about armors, going +1 over the safe enchant is the same for any item, going +2 is same for any items. WHat I mean by this is when talking about armors whose main piece is 1 piece. A NM heavy main piece success rate going to +4 to +5 is the same success rate of a DC light top going from +3 to +4. Hence the reason why it is super easy to get a +6 main piece armor compared to enchanting other armors to +6.




All in all, Just dont compare enchanting weapons to armors, they arent the same. Weapons are always 2/3, even if people wanna assume mage weapons enchant better than warrioer weapons (and Ive even heard its better to do mana up mage weapons cause they have a higher success rate than acumen weapons!)

I don't know where you get such superstitious claims, but nobody said mage weapons were enchanted better with or without mana up. That's quite the contrary, mage weapons have a lower success rate.

There is no 2/3 general rule that applies to weapons and armor. There is a 2/3 rules that applies to weapons.

Weapon OEing rates are 2/3. Armors have different success rates.

Mage weapons with mana up = 2/3 rate.
Mage weapons with acu = 2/3 rate.
Warrior weapons = 2/3 rate.
Weapons = 2/3 rate.
Armors = something WAY different

There is no point stating mage weapons enchant rates are similiar to fighter one's,many have tried to enchant both fighter and mage weapons,and there is a diffrence.
And another proof to that,why you only see over enchanted AS/Drac bow/other fighter weapon to +7 or higher,even a +10 or more isnt so rare,but you dont see any mage weapons above +6,only random AM +7-9 that cost 8-20kkk each.

I love how an event, with enchanting is bringing out people whining on about over enchanting.

Well since no ones running around town with +23 or +22 weapons. I dont think this event has the same success rate as lets say actually over enchanting.

Lets hope the devs realized this when doing there math. To say no one listened to the other thread we wrote during the squash event is ridicolous its obvious. They listned somewhat to the extent of bot trains getting to do the event nonstop. They even added a way for you to sit in town and do it for just having 1 account.

I think thats great lets see the over enchant rate for this competition. If its completely random. Some of us are going to have good luck and others are going to have really bad luck,

Im hoping its super easy to get to +14, If we dont hear people getting s grade / level 14 crystals , than its a bad event.

Statistical Trivia

IF (and this is a big IF) the event scrolls have the same 2/3 chance of success that normal scrolls have, then I was wondering how many scrolls it would take to reach each of the '+' levels.

Now these are NOT guaranteed numbers of scrolls needed. Rather they are Average number of scrolls needed. In other words, if you use this many scrolls the odds are that you will get the '+' level indicated. You may well get it quicker (with less scrolls) or you may need a lot more scrolls, but this is an expected average number of scrolls to use to get the desired level of enchantment.

+6 21 scrolls
+10 180 scrolls
+12 456 scrolls
+13 741 scrolls
+14 1218 scrolls
+15 1935 scrolls
+16 2918 scrolls
+17 4624 scrolls
+23 76,404 scrolls

I believe that these numbers are valid for normal weapon enchants also.

Yes, this is one event I like. Till now rabitting was highest on the list, but this is much cooler.
Regarding success rates you can seriously screw up for a difference of a few %.
You either flood the server with s80 items or nobody gets anything, or almost nobody.
This is an exponential thing regarding luck, meaning you need lots more for the higher levels than for the lowest, exponentially more.
I hate only one thing tho... The amount of time lost with the enchanting. If it is done the old way, will mean a lot of work. If you just click the enchant, then it is cool :)
Franz is favoured because there is lots of adena there, unlike other servers. But we should see the success rate, that is the most important question right now.

Most likely means it's a chest or container you open up with normal armor or weapon inside.

It is NOT dependant on your connection speed, at least that is not the main factor. I have like 10 connections to choose from, ranging from 3g to fiberoptic with 15 Mbps. Sometimes the ADSL is the fastest, sometimes the cable is fastest, sometimes they go roughly the same, there is a real mistery on how this works. My ADSLs are like 6 Mb each, cable is 4, 3g 7.2, but none reach that speed, they are all best effort, usually in the evening there is hard, but all updates come in the evening, all connections go roughly the same time to update, so why sometimes one computer finishes faster and another the rest of the times, is not solved yet. Even when they are on same connection, can be twice as fast on one, not always the same... Real mistery here...

I have an unsolved mistery too. From time to time, but at least ONCE in 3 months my ingame laggs are reaching their TOP numbers I guess. So, at least once in 3 months I can't play for like 2-3 weeks. IDN why, but it laggs like I've never seen before...I asked my friend from the same country I leave in about this issue, and what I heared is that he had the same problem as I did. He leaves in another city.
So...well...IDN how to explain it. And the bad thing is, THIS week, is the second week of these extream laggs! And this awesome event is coming up...and I won't be able to play.. hmm.. :/

Not exactly overwhelmed by the drop rate on Aria for the scrolls from hunting mobs.

1:33 mobs, 1:18 mobs, 1:39 mobs.

At level 50 hunting mostly white with some green mobs thrown in--that was the better part of a whole vitality level. 3 event scrolls.

Might as well not even take my DA out! At the rate he kills mobs, he'll need 2 hours to kill 90 mobs for 3 scrolls!!

As per the usual the farmers will farm the event 24/7 and we may see prices drop a little bit for items obtained through it. If you can sell the scrolls you'd be better off, the more rare they are the more you should be able to sell em for... hopefully anyways.

Enchant your staff to at least +8 and wait 'till tomorrow. Login the next day and start enchanting again. You will reach at least +13 - +14. The 3rd day.. I dunno :P If it breaks and you enchant again you'll reach around +6 then it'll break again , if you try to enchant again it'll break at +4 all the time until tomorrow , this happened to 2 of my characters (different accounts) and to a friend's char.

Well when i was enchanting all my staff broke going for +8.
My highest staff before was +11.
Then my kamael started dancing and *****ing to staff how useless she is to break all the time and then a miracle happened. Got the staff to +14 and exchanged it for black mask :P
That helped me to get my next staff after the +14 staff to +12 staff ( couldnt enchant more ran out of scrolls) :)

My best was +8 till now. I will gather now every 5 hours the scrolls and at the last day, try to enchant. got 210 scrolls till now. hm, maybe if the give some good adena i will sell them :p

Finaly got 1 to +17 today and stopped there and got the EWS other than that nothing past +11 all day. So far I since the event started I have done over 1600 scrolls and 14 of them I got to +15 just wish I had stopped there every time and took the top LS would have defiantly made a bit of adena then. As it is now im down about 15mil down. Not to bad for all the enchanting I did.

Past 24-36 hrs highest I've had was +13, with loads failing from +4 to +7 and a couple at +9. Seems harder than first day of the event, but thats probably random chance / bad luck.

Hey everyone.

Just thought I'd give my opinion.

I've used about 1,200 scrolls now.

I've hit +15 on the last attempt and traded it in straight away.

Trying +18 now.

I don't think there's anything that can be done to increase the chance of success. There is no secret.

However, I have noticed that I only break staffs going +4, +8, +12, and +15.

I don't remember breaking any in between those. e.g. never broke going +5, +6, +7, but maybe its just me. lol.

After countless of hours wasting scrolls, I came to the conclusion that
"This event its just pure luck"

Pointless to buy the scrolls from any store other than the NPC, let the farmers keep them.

With 100 scrolls you may hit the jackpot. Does not matter how many you use... this event is all about pure luck.

so Somebody with less than 100 scrolls may reach the S armor event item without the need to use 1000+.

The main problem is that nobody is aiming for crappy event rewards prior to the 14 enchanted, meaning a great % of the population are not very happy with this event at all.

why would anyone buy scrolls from npc for 78k if players are selling them for 30k. no adena out of the system, at all, sorry.

would make sense if they made scrolls untradable as originally intended, though.

Does the S grade and S80 Armor chest give a SET of armor or a SINGLE piece of armor?

More l2 enchanting superstitions today i just got my highest and very first +14 lol,they way i seem to get the highest enchants so far imo is by putting the staff in then sticking that many staffs in on the staff enchant a total of what + your going to.
EX. the staff is +7 i want to go to +8 i put the staff in then put it in 7 more times to make a total of 8,so far this worked for my, got me my top hat.
But this is just superstition you can try it tho :D

this event is taking a lot of my money out of my system and putting it onto somebody else's system. i don't like this event. i think it's total bogus. what i spend on trying to get a fake hat i can use to buy 10 real hats. it just doesn't make sense. why put something in there that a player can never get to. you could lower the rewards so that it's at least attainable.

70mil down already and still no hat. and the longer you wait the less money i'm going to have to pay for your scrolls. as it is now prices down to 20k/scroll and dropping.

it's amazing someone who wants something as simple as a hat to make him look taller can't get it and someone who wants an armor piece gets it but don't want it. i guess you just have to set your standards a little higher than what you want in order to really get what you want.

all the years of savings. all gone by 1 event. now that's just sad. i just wish i'd kept my lilttle red staff and run around with it, would've prolly have more fun that way.

though, i find that when you don't expect to get it you'll get it. when you know you want it you won't.

and yes, the 24 scrolls will still be available for purchase untill the very last day.

I bet when or if NCsoft analyse when staffs were turned in they will probably find that only +7, +14, +15, +17 onwards were traded in (except for people who made a mistake or just needed one more EWA to make a +3 :D).
