doesnt the valentine event seem like they took all the horrible aspects of the rudoplh event and repackaged them w/o the usefull bits?
now you get to collect useless items and run around w/ a crap summon. but instead of nice event weapons and profecy buffs you get a few fighter or mystic buffs...
srsly... we had a poll, i event got private mail from sace regarding the poll and they give us a event that is the complete opposite of what everyones feedback was?
im not a summoner other than sub but still 2 events in a row that screw summoners coupled w/ the fact that both events arent that great to begin w/....

Shouldn't you at least wait for the actual event before giving your analysis of the situation? For all you know the buffs and/or summons will rock.

Yeah, have to agree with this. Let's wait and see how good/bad the event is before we pass judgement.

I don't know, I'm not thrilled about this event either. The event describtion makes it perfectly obvious what the buffs do. The questions now are: a)will the summons that "fight alongside you" be useful? How do they like aoe I wonder? b)how frequent will the vitality replenish be? For the "JUST GIVE US VITA POPS!"-crowd.
Personally, I don't really care for summons that fight alongside me (hope they made them agathions rather then summons this time!), I don't care for lore, I don't care for an event that forces me to change my xp-habits, and quite frankly - I don't care for vitaitly as much as I should either. Everyone scrambling to get a piece of it and then going emo because it's not happening as often as they expected it to is more annoying then the potential benefits. (But I don't really agree with the OP either: the +'d up weapons were completely useless....)
I like simple events that don't require you to change your xp area and habits without annoying summons that get you stuck. Personally, I also prefer events that grant you items more then vitality events - but that's mainly because I'm at a point where I need a gear-upgrade more then a few % :D

if the summons rock please feel free to come back and flame me. the fact is these summon and item dropping events result in bugs, lag, and players being put at a disadvantage as to where/how they xp. i would be much happier w/ no events, no vit boost, no shadow items or hair pieces instead of a poorly thought out event. i can make good out of most events but the crappy aspects always outweigh the good.
my main "qq" point is i went out of my way to answer questions about the last event and then answerd mails on this forum from sace to further explain what i may not have been clear about.
i vote or participate in the event polls on a regular basis to apparently jus waste more of my time like i find myself compelled to do now. NC if your not going to pay attention jus dont bother asking... i dont expect you to build events to my liking since you dont have that power, but i only ask that when a obviously useless event comes your way from korea jus scrap it and wait till the next 1. yes i understand you feel the need to push events out since if a month goes by w/o you have to read post from lowbies who want events because they dont have anything else to do, but lets face it they are gonna complain after the event goes wrong also so you might as well just not do it... i dont complain when you dont do a event, only when you fudge 1 up. so already youve negated a round of complaints just by not doing it and have only to read the original we want a event post. its a good deal for you, its a good deal for me, the we want a event crew isnt happy but hey i really dont give a crap about them so its everybody wins in my eyes. =P

If you don't like the event and the rewards, don't participate ... I haven't participated in these events for years. Only annoyance will be the drops which you can't pick up and which will mess everybody's exp up but what can you do .... Hopefully by L3 they 'll figure out how to make event items drop only if you are participating in the event

it is a concept many have over looked. perhaps check your renew time and stop paying durring event periods.
every game has events the fact that our suck so bad sometimes i can only guess is the result of bad managment. yes all u out there at NCWEST
im sure you lol at us while ignoring people in aion as well going... what do you want from us we translate and babysit were not korea.
maybe you should craft durring the event or pk people n have a hatemongerer event. roll a die before killing someone
idk but i gave a perfectly good solution you just didnt like it but it was a suggestion.

im sparking conversation about the fact that i feel most of our events are a pain in the bum, some are ok some, are down right horrible... i play for events and i try to make the best out of it but that doesnt mean they are good.

you can read about the event via the interwebs vis a vis what the event will basically consist of....
i dont need to "think" when i can read.... i find thinking to be a superfluous action, obviously... i am here now.

i admit defeat, i under estimated the availability of the vita buff. I was wrong.
but...
whats great about it?
full vita couldnt be achived w/ a 300% xp week or a week long bday buff or 100 hour rune of xp or something?
we need the summons for what?
your party has to stop and get out of combat everytime they wanna replenish vita...
summoner have to unsummon thier summon, summon companion, unsummon, resummon thier summon, rebuff thier summon... every time you wanna replenish vita....
what is the point of all the BS... if ya wanna have a vita/xp event jus give a ++xp week and drop all the crap...
so here is what was fixed from the rudolph event to now...
*unlootable event items - they got rid of the horrible baskets and made a herb that you can get w/ or w/o the summon out... A+
*vita - you can get the vita reward easily and often, its not left up to chance. A+ also any reward that isnt left to chance is good.
and here is what i still think is a waste of time
*summons - they get in your way, you have to stop to get them out, and they are super squishy. the buffs arent bad if you dont have access to buffers but nothing special.
*rose petals - why even have them? you have to collect 10 but every mob drops them and they have a 5 minute timer... if it is impossible not to meet the prerequiste for the buff why not jus get rid of the prerequisite? if you want to make ppl work a little for it dont make the item drop off every mob...
*summoners - still a pain for summoners
so yes. you are right and i was wrong... much better event than last time but still alot of fat to trim. i jus want them to get rid of all the bells and whistles. the more excessive junk the better the chance for problems. its a grind game, keep it basic and cut out the extra steps in events. i guess im jus never happy
edit: afterthought, why o why did you put in a scrap item? not just 1 but 3? they should be tradable... but not dropable. adena art is fine but why suggest players toss excess items on the ground? its a punishable offense to drop excessive items at siege so obviously it causes lag and screws up gameplay. why add a usless item to do nothing more than take up wh/invo space and create lag?

because there is no point.... its a bunch of extra steps jus to be cute.
i thought of another thing they fixed since last event... you can still utilize the summon in a transformed state. bravo

The summon is great roughly like me buffalo but dont take xp.
And its not a pain for summoners. xped with two summoners today that loved the event.
Its the same pain for me when I I have to unsummon my buffalo just to get the vita buff just to have to summon it again.... yea thats a real pain. haha

And its not a pain for summoners. xped with two summoners today that loved the event.
Its the same pain for me when I I have to unsummon my buffalo just to get the vita buff just to have to summon it again.... yea thats a real pain. haha
ever in a hardcore fastpace party? since you need a buffalo to xp im assuming not... believe me its a pain to have to get out of combat for 30 or 40 seconds when there is alot going on.
unlimited vita is great, there is no question about that... i dont know if i care as much about it as all of you but i do like it. i jus dont like all the cute extra spam that goes w/ it... cute avatar stuff is great when there is $ to be made but cute w/ no other reason is a waste of time... they could have spent less time coding pets and roses in game and spent it fixing bugs or even typos... simplify the process, the scenic route is always prettier but a straight line is still the shortest distance.

Becuse when you use a buffalo to solo you never been in a fastpaced party? ok

If i can choose, i always take the scenic route. :p
I actually have to take my negative first impression back, I LOVE that you don't have to have the summons out constantly.
The only thing that's not so great is that in a group setting you can't keep your petal-buff up, so you're pretty much forced to solo/duo in 1x mob areas.

Awesome post dude, nice to admit you were wrong. My hat off to you.
I think it was too late for NCSoft to make this suggested change from the rudolph event to make the summon like the agathon thingie so that it could be out along with a pet/summon. They did make the event drop not block spam pickup which was the major problem with the last event.
It seems that our suggestions were heard and they did their best to address concerns as best they could. I suspect that future events in this genre will get refined more.
I really enjoy this event, and if you look at your pet's stats ... they can do some pretty nice damage. Great event all around NC.
I have made 34% (lv 77 atm soultaker) since the event started..a hour of 16 something like that. Anyway with this event i will make lv 79 in no time. Thanks a lot:)

hey hate do u realize that theres only bout 10% of ppl that xp in that manner? so for 90% of us that DONT want to xp in a hyper manner this is the best event since sliced cheese... and as u said urself vit events really dont matter much to u since u hyper xp with no vit ne ways.... so there fore just dont use it lol then what does it matter? lol or my suggestsion just make sure at the end of party solo to get vit log off and strt anew the next day with vit4 :)

Anyway, you don't need to unsummon them if you don't want it. Give them shots and let them fight along you for their 3 hours.

you don't HAVE to summon/unsummon every few minutes. just keep it always summoned, you'll get vita without stopping.
when 3 hours run out use spare summon which you save time on (summon/unsummon just for getting vit as you do now)
but 3 hrs of pure exping per day is more than enough I think unless you have a day job of playing lineage2
and tbh i dont get the summoners;' problem, why don't you just use event pets instead of your summons? they have good dps, also have magic version and don't consume exp ..
unless you're 76+ of course...

for me its because i use a 79 wolf on my 60's toons. if i use the event summons, they are the same lvl as ur char :)
