Benediction

I read on another thread some guy saying the bishop skill, benediction, was useless and a waste of SP. Is this true? What does it do, anyway? For how much does it heal?

Or.. if you're being mana burnt, spam it in the hope of a last chance cast. Though, if I was being mana burnt, I'd be spamming trance on the bint who was hitting me.

The problem with a high level cardinal is he/she has too many icons to place on the hotbars so although the benediction has some marginal value there simply is no free slot for it.

My Bishop, not Cardi, already needs a 4th bar. Groan..

It use to work as a full party heal when the bishop was under like 20% health, which was really only good for when people were falling off the cliff from HV to the cata down there. Um, FP? it's been a while.

But now it's based on mp and still just as situational. Think the only time I ever used it was during one of those 7 sign festivals when everyone was taking a lot of damage. Usually if the bishop is that low on mp, they are probably almost dead or about to die in 2 seconds anyway.

Spamming group heal/balance/bow/prayer will lower your mp quite fast. Benediction is one of those skills that heals the party to full, something a balance + Group heal will do (roughly same mana cost, and twice as fast). It's cooldown is quite long however, so use it once you're below 25% hp, and people's hp is dropping. Stay there if you can until it's needed, then regen yourself after you use it. When I raid, I keep myself below 25% mp so I can use this skill as often as possible. Great for Tiat raids when the mobs hurt. And whoever said it's a waste of SP, you're dumb. it's only 280k SP, that's 1 skill enchant. Not a big deal. Will you use it often? well that's up to if you know how/when to use it. By far an underrated skill a cardi has. Learn to play the class, and you'll love this skill.

PvP, yes, I'd say benediction is a 1 time thing. Cardi's should not have low mp all the time in pvp. however you do get there.

I usually have at least 1 SE/EE to recharge me in Tiat (and other raids) so the opportunity to use it rarely comes up. Maybe you need better parties at Tiat, or maybe some live rechargers...

It is amazing when I remember in other situations where a recharger is not with us or we are over our heads. That doesn't really happen too often, since we make proper parties.

I hit bishop about five years ago and I have never cast it.

Just take the skill, put it on your hotbar .... after while ( atleast for most cardinals ) it will be replaced on the bar by something else and you will forget you ever took it.
