Hi, im shii

I have been playing lineage 2 on and off for the past 5 years, i only have 1 class and that is an elemental master.Im going to be making this FAQ about this rare/uncommon class in lineage2.I will post questions and answers from many questions i can think off, any other that might miss or want answered, ill do my best to update.

Basics:

1)Q: Should i go Spell Singer (SPS) or Elemental summoner (ES)
a:This is one that depends on you. (SPS) are speed nukers, there main atribute its do water based damage as fast as possible.(ES)Are hybrid class between a mage and a warrior. The character itself acts as a support of its summon.A summoner cannot survive without hes summon creature.

2)Q: What class is easier to play?
A: (SPS) is faster and can experience faster as long as it has another character boosting hes (MP)"mana/magic points".(ES) can feel slow and it is...very...slow to experience but its a very complex class to play and fun. Both classes are fun but it depends in the play style you are looking.

3)Q: Are summoners an expensive class?
a:Yes and soon no.As it stands to properly fight along side your summon you need the following(blessed spirit shots,soulshots,A/b/c/d Crystals,Pet soulshots/Pet spiritshots,Spirit ore) Freya will change this by eliminating the need of Crystals for Spirit ore.

4)Q: Do we use "nukes" or offensive magic?(by sercatum)
a:When you are ES around 40 up to 76 it is very efficient to use solar-spark

It is 35 lvl nuke : "Inflicts divine damage on the enemy with 55 Power added to M. Atk. Over-hit is possible."

Many mobs are holy-weak so that nuke is preatty devastating.
With seraphin buffs (emp/acu/WM) your M-atack is preatty good and with nice chance of critic.
It is northing unusual that I do critic in ToI (mobs 72+) around 2000-3000 dmg.

Advance:

1)Q: Should i put robes or light armor?
a:I wont go too deep in this and save you allot of trouble here.

Light armor is only good if your assisting your summon while he attacks.Once you hit 40+ you don't get any more offensive spells, only support spells. If you feel like doing extra dmg to the mobs you can put light armor and any weapon of your choice.Light armor makes you cast spell allot slower, so in an emergency were you need to for "X" reason heal like a madman before your summon dies, light armor is going to kill you.As i said earlier your nothing without your summon, at lvl 79 your p.atk can be mediocre.Do not try to prove me wrong by using light armor, it does work on pve but dont try it on pvp cause your going to die and that's a 100% fact.

Robes on the other side make you cast allot faster, you do lose some p.def but its worth it due to your battle heal can be spammed as a last resort and many times saving your life.By the time your 79 you have all 3 skill shelf's out and have to look at over 25+ skills to support your summon properly, for this YOU NEED ROBES.On the other side you don't do much aside from healing and curing and such.Allso we have transfer pain at lvl 5 "50% of dmg you receive will pass to your summon" acts as a light armor and better and finally the mp boost is awsome.

2)Q: Why does my healing cubic fires all the time but my aqua doesn't?
a:HES A LAZY MO....hes lazy...Hes programing its made to randomly calculate if it has to activate it self every time you attack. While your healing one use to be as lazy but now it heals most of the time as long as he sees hp lower than 100%.

3)Q: Lineage2 is a pve but mainly pvp game, How will i do in pvp as a summoner?
a:If your going against a friend in similar equipment/lvl you might have a chase to win, if that is not the case your going to get rolled 75% of the time...summons will die from 2 critical hits from an archer and then you kiss your *** goodbye...until 79, 1-78 pets are from past times, they don't have and never will get the proper update to make them pvp worth while EXCEPT the lvl 79 summon's.They can seriously hurt people...and i mean a world of pain.

4)Q: Why does my summon receive so much dmg from other players?!!
a:Simple. They are NPC's the dmg you do to a npc is greater than the dmg done to a player, this also "sadly" counts for summon's.Thats why robe beats light armor, you need to heal that summon until your pantyhose drop.

5)Q: So basically i will lose allot until i hit 79?
A:yes

6)Q: Is there any advantage to being a summoner at all?
A:YES! We have really good caster classes buff's and we are masters of 1v1 fighting, we can win 90% of the time.We are self sufficient and once you hit 79 Magnus the unicorn can AOE water nuke for alot of dmg and if it crits in a pvp field "castle siege" your going to see alot of players drop dead.

Information about (ES) Unicorn Summon's and there skills(by nefer)

Boxer - Recharges you (will take 0% of your exp in freya, for now, takes 14% at +0 at lvl 74+)

Mirage - Wind Nuke (re-use time, as usual, sucks) 90% of exp taken from you, and this dos not change in freya.

Merrow - AoE Water Nuke (will take 0% of your exp in freya, for now, takes 0% exp at lvl 68+)

Seraphim - Buffs (will take 0% of your exp in freya, for now, takes 0% exp at lvl 68+)

Magnus - Stun, AoE Water Nuke (takes 0% exp)

Personal Advice on equipment

Staff's with Casting speed and Water stones to 150 or 300 atribute
Robes set
Spare light armor just in case
Hell knife or sprite staff for mental resist buff "trust me you will need this"
Dual swords for when your 2 bored to just watch your summon do all the work in pve.

Light armor side note: As far as lightarmor goes for ES class. Its nice to have in pve sometimes in pvp vs other summoners. But in the future i think it might be more usefull and give a more diverse tactic than using robes, but for now..please stick with robes.

Nice Guide Shii! :D

Besides DC buffs what buffs are helpful to the ES and to his pony, if any? Mainly interested in the SE buffs since our raid party today :p but in general, which buffs do you like? (I know mental shield). Any EE buffs or OL? (besides zerk2 which you like) :)

(ps: I'm Aphraell too)

Anything that gives more atk speed or patk is good.

Great manual!
I just add some things.

When you are ES around 40 up to 76 it is very efficient to use solar-spark

It is northing unusual that I do critic in ToI (mobs 72+) around 2000-3000 dmg.

And most important, using that skill it is wise exp - over hit is GOOD :)

About EM 79+.
OK, nuke is really powerful, but future Magnus users, don't be too enthusiastic!

His AoE nuke is able to 1 hit all mobs in Dino crater.
True .. but chance that his cast will get interrupted is around... 50%.

I was many times with EM there (as ES with Seraphin or in diffrent role) and we died / had to BSOE many times due to interrupt of cast and death of Magnus or master :)

About mass PvP.
EM still has ONE big problem.
Erase.
Good thing is many people don't know how to fight against summoner :)

Thanks for the info. Can you give a little info on each of the unicorns? I noticed that we still get skills for each one but it seems that they are all pretty useless other than Merrow.

PS: Sercatum , over-hit is good, but SP wise, it will start to hurt...and the divine nuke re-use time is awfull, really, for a nuker better make a real one ;)
Also, mental shield helps a ton with erase, that, coupled with the fact that summoners are not a primary target in PvP makes erase not that of a big problem (its still a problem, just a smaller one ^^)

Nefer, could you edit your post to make a distinction what nukes are aoe and which ones arent? Since this is supposed to be a FAQ thread about the summoner and its servitors.

Thank you for the heads up Smittie, did not notice I had not made said distinction.

Tested EM with Magnus +1 on PTS. Damage of his nuke is crazy, but eats loads of his MP :)
I'm thinking of enchant servitor recharge, but what route will be better in your opinion? MP cost or power? Ofc in fields with mana herbs it's not a huge problem, but when I'll be hunting on mobs *xHP (for example on 79 in catas (he rocks there :D)) his mana will be eaten.

And about smart cubic. This little thing as I see can heal, can hit mob with a dot, can heal from debuffs. It's multiple cubic in 1, right? :)

About fields where a pony trainers can exp from 79. Can someone who has this crazy horse can write here where is good place for xp? :) (I can have buffs from SE or DC)

Thanks ^^

I enchanted servitor recharge cost, because to me power was...bleh, since in the end its mana pool is so tiny that a few extra mp/recharge is not going to make a huge difference, you'll still have to recharge it alot if you get unlucky and have no mana herbs around (or a recharger).

As lvling spots at 79, I advise Dino island nest (where the T-rexes are) but to train AoE you can go to the other side (wild striders etc), its far easier, but the exp is a lot less.

A word of advice, don't get nuts and make huge trains, the horse gets interrupted too **** much >__>

And yes, smart cubic is a 3 in one - as far as I can see it has a wind nuke, stun and cleanse, cleanse is pure awesome <3.

What skills do you all up first im only lvl 78.3
right now im at:

Merrew Lvl 5 (so he's lvl 79)
Seraphim Lvl 1 (so he was lvl 78)
Life Cubic lvl 3
Serv. empower lvl 3
Mass Surrender to water lvl 5

What else do you up? I figure ill be stuck at 79 for a while doing my best to keep enough SP for Magnus as soon as i hit 79 as thats important ^^ with upcoming merger i figure i may need to pvp for spots to exp so anyhelp would be nice ;)

Summoner Update:

After finally hitting 79 and geting to use magnus i have encountered the following problems.

Magnus is an allrounded summon with good dmg bouth melle and magic. But as far as pvp wise its starting to look bad. The summon reuse time is too slow and eats to much mana.Everytime you fight someone outside of oly they will use cp pots. The reuse time on nuke is so slow that it allows the enemy to quickly heal hes cp faster than you can nuke hem agein. Being summoners we have no offensive skill so we rely on agument nukes to compensate.

Sadly it is more efficient to lvl up seraphin and have 4 different augment nukes in 4 different weapons so you can nuke one after another using seraphins reuse buff. It beats the magnus by a land sly due to the fact cubic gives stun.Kohek wich is the hero of EM in phoenix mainly due to lack of competition, uses this style of fighting. I have asked around and its allways recommended to use this style of fight. Making finally magnus utterly useless for pvp.

Lineage is a kill quick game...the 8 second reuse on the magnus nuke is killing this class. It got nerfed and here are the consequence.

Maybe once they bring in the awakening system and allow us to summon two maybe it will include our own pets so say Seraphim and Magnus that might be better ^^
