Hi there fellow DoomCryers / Dominators, just reach 76 and i wanted to ask you, since you're more experienced in this then i am. I want to buy a S-grade weapon but i dont know wich one, Dragon Hunter Axe ( for those Stuns ) or Demon Splinter ( fast atk speed / hp / mp regen ). At Lv. 76 i will probably lvl alone for 1 hour and most of the time i will lvl with my clan, also i will farm KE's with my wolf.
So what do you think?
- Dragon Hunter Axe?
- Demon Splinter ( probably gonna put the Critical stun effect)
Thanks in Advance =)

Why wind?
I am using BBH (HP Drain) in combination with Dynasty Light and it works quite well with a shield. With wolf or in a group. Casting speed is not that much of a problem that I would need to worry about - for these purposes I got Mysterious Swork (Acumen).
But any weapon will do fine, just make sure you get your toggle to +1, there is a big jump in the added P.Attack.

Any fighter weapon will do fine, use shield if its 1 handed. Make soulcry +1 and for bit more casting speed +5 WIT/-5 MEN tatoos. I use Duals and robe.

i would suggest going one handed blunt/sword.
Fists are not as nice as you would think...
they worked fine for b grade, maybe even A grade, but for S the're just too slow and cumbersome.
i used a two handed sword, but i missed often enough to be frustrated...
one handed weapons attack faster, ultimately = if not more dps based on misses.
another good option might be the Dagger...
AS crit damage, or dynasty focus.
you can also get focus on one handed swords.
burning chop can be used with any weapon excluding bow/crossbow.
i myself wore Drac light, and til this day...
i like the drac set bonus more than the dynasty.
if you get dynasty, go robes.
the bonus to p.def from the dynasty light is just not worth the loss of cast speed without any p.attack bonus.
i had a cougar as support, but it's really not needed anymore, as it was mainly for haste/focus and vampiric rage, and we get 2/3 of those, and can already drain hp pretty effectively.
Good Luck.

If you solo then a dagger is the way to go; don't even think about anything else. Especially the focus one, outdamages any other weapon available. If you can afford a dynasty go for it; otherwise an AS. If you can afford a second S-grade weapon you can get an arcana or dynasty mace with accumen SA. It will help you stun and cast faster and it is the weapon you are bound to use in parties. The weapon element is nothing much to worry. DC has no skills that benefit from elements. Exceptions are stun (need earth element) and freezing flame (need fire element) but their importance is minor. My suggestion (if you could afford them of course) would be: get a dagger focus with holy element since most mobs are dark and get a dynasty mace with accumen and earth element to help with stuns.
When it comes to armor I can only think of one option: Dynasty light with level 1 pads (enchanter). It outshines anything else and you will probably stick with it at 84+. It adds more Pdef than any robe set (even vesper), it has only slightly less casting speed (around 5%) and less MP pool. Both disadvantages are minor unless you pvp in sieges. Especially after 83 you will need to get near mobs to use burning chop in order to fire great fury (ofc it works on party members too but being flagged is not always the best option)

i have to agree with Fidgit/Andreask here about weapon. Go dagger all the way, fists are bad for only 1 reason - lowest crit rate in game (same as blunts), and your damage will come from crits (good chunk of it). Best choice is dynasty knife with focus. I prefer focus on orc mages over crit damage since we dont have crit passives. If you want to save money go angel slayer w/CD
For armor i recommend drac set, better casting speed than heavy and nice dps boost.
If you're casting alot of curses or any sort of crowd control then go for major arcana robes for m-atk. If you pvp go dynasty mace acumen and dyn robe
welcome to s grade :)

1 handed sword focus > dagger
you can cap attack speed very easy so whats the point of having faster atk speed of dagger when you could have more patk and still cap atk speed w/ sword?
drac set for melee
morai and acum weapon for oly or crowd control

1 handed sword focus > dagger
Dynasty sword focus->adds 111 crit rate. Dynasty knife adds 116 crit rate (plus 40 base crit rate more than sword)
Dynasty sword Patk=333. Dynasty knife Patk=291
Sword attack speed class: Fast. Dagger attack speed class: Very fast.
Are you serious? Sword outdamages dagger because it has 42 Patk more? Are you even playing L2?

Really? A 76 DC can cap attack speed solo? Can you please elaborate on this?

Draconic set is a choice, but a better one is dynasty light with pads (level one is fine, no need to spend money ontwo unless you do quest)
Moirai is level 80 set. OP is 76 and I think he is more intrested in exp than Olympiads at the moment.

Hi
DC is a hybrid class and playing you should read the enemy info
Using dagger on mobs with evasion is crappy;)
Using fists on high p.def also crappy;)
Using robe + blunt without party also crappy;)
I mean that you need to make your own play style that suits your needs.
First of all if you are soloing be sure you got pets FENRIR and COUGA.
Personally im using Icarus fists (focus, holy) and moirai heavy and im fine:)

Fully agree ;), it depends on your playstyle.
My opinion: I played with blunt and Draco light some time but never will back to that **** weapon. Sometimes you will say: "but you have hammer crush", a yes of course but it's a **** and lands rarely - not enchanted skill. And I don't believe that element helps on land in stun lol :p
Personally I will be using duals and moirai heavy on 80 since I'm mostly pve only on this char. NO for dynasty enchanter set :p
Dagger is imo paraolympiad fight with mobs on your level and with high evasion :D
Sword? It's not bad.
And of course with wolf it's a great solo pve machine.

the op wont always be 76 and alot of the post here are not talking about only lvl 76
you talk about sticking to certain setups till 84+
you also talk about attack speed and crit rate... other have also talked about the same things...
i mentioned that you can cap atk speed (1500) and crit rate (500) w/ a 1 handed sword very easily, but you cant cap patk... so... a sword is a obvious better choice for melee killing since you have the same atk speed and crit rate but more patk....
Dyn Enchanter - INT -1; MEN +2; WIT -1; Casting Spd. +15%; Max MP +321; Resistance to Dark +8; MP consumption of magic skills -5%
Drac - DEX+1, STR+1, CON-2, Atk. Spd./P. Atk +4%, Max MP +289, and Weight Limit +5759.
now you tell me wich of these sets helps you kill faster?
you talk to the op about using a dagger if they solo but then you suggest a armor set that does not increae any melee stats at all for faster solo kills...
Dyn light is a set made for buffing... +mp regen, +max mp, -mp use, -matk.... -1 wit +15% cast speed - there is other sets available if you want a buffer setup. dyn robs is basically same bonus cet it doesnt -wit and it gives less chance to be cancled while casting. so if you want a buffer set dyn robes > light.
buffing in drac takes 10 seconds and doesnt use all your mp, you kill 1 mob and you have enuff to to rebuff... so why would you trade a good set bonus for a buffer bonus thatisnt even the best buffer bonus?
"Are you even playing L2?"
SRSLY???

Thanks for the info, guys and sry for the late "thanks", working very hard to put my DC to lvl 78 to get me some cov powa ^_^.
Now i will get my DC to lvl 80 eventually but im curious in something, the skills i see in 79 and up are all basicly mage skills, so in my subs setup i was thinking of doing SwS for the mp steal, spoiler for the atk. speed and Warlock for the +p.atk/atk speed for the physical dmg setup, but if the higher DC are mages so this setup is wrong ?
And yes someday i will try out the olys ^_^
Thanks =)

the bonus to p.def from the dynasty light is just not worth the loss of cast speed without any p.attack bonus.
rong. Dyn light Enchanter set gives +15% cast speed, so it is pretty darn nice with the added pdef, and orc can vr mp so don't need bigger mp pool of robes.
But yes, Drac is better for damage output for xp. Moirai robes = stun bait, I do not recommend to spend money on it ever. You will probably need stun resist for pvp so Arcana robes or Moirai heavy is good (things that stun are fighters so high pdef and stun resist of heavy set could be good), and upgrade to vesper robes at 84.
Do NOT get fists, those are useless. For xp, focus dagger or sword is great. Get an acumen blunt also.
About subs, everyone pretty much always takes enchanter (bd, sws, or pp) for chance invincibility, and then tank for chance low-level ud (which activate often when you take damage). mp steal is junk, and not an option of sws sub anyway (sws is enchanter; and mp regen subskill is junk also). Spoiler or other warrior for chance haste is good for xp, and you can change the warrior specific subskill to +cp or resist trait later also. Not sure how well summoner zerk works, it is also a chance one.

So Dagger focus and Blunt acumen for xp/pvp/olys right? And about the armor? Dinasty Leather Enchanter or Moirai Leather?
Its too bad that my only nuke skill is Steal Essence, is it enchantable?
Sorry for all this questions, but i really like my DC, i've invested much time in it, just to be a buffer..wanna do something better of him that can be good in pvp partys etc too

I loved using a Angel slayer with haste while wearing Draconic Leather to solo my face off.
Actually yesterday while lvling my WC sub... i had a BD in party i've never met in my life while in hot springs doing a quest.... and wearing tallum + Nagastorm... he was amazed that i was doing so much damage so quickly... he thought i was a dagger before....
I get that quite often... i've had KAMA groups actually laugh at me when i'd join them as a DD.... but afterwards they were a little amazed.
Provided with what you personally wish to do.. and how you want to play.. you can go one of 3 ways..
Nuker style, Neutral/combo, DD Malee style..
Nuker obviously is with robes and mace..
Neutral would probably be a combination of both... be it mace or blunt or even sword... or multiple weapons.... sometimes i see some neutral combo DCs wearing light armor and beasting with nukes and doing well malee.. nothing amazing in either but healthy balance..
And I personally love the malee capabilities of my DC... I'm a brute with a polearm too.
Just for FACTS sake..
My Current lvl 76 Adventurer with Tallum heavy and nagastorm ... +5dex +4 str tats (+6 str with armor set).. managed with same buffs as DC, roughly 1150 patk.... where as my 76 DC with +4str +4dex +4 wit tats (+6str) with buffs INCLUDING the DC toggle that increases patk... clocks in at nearly 1300patk.. ... it's patk is not all that much slower though.... and it's crit rate and crit damange isn't quite as high... but if i were not use any skill on my Adventurer... they'd probably both average out to doing about the same speed..... the DC of course marginally slower.. but just barely..
This is going by my own account of doing the 50/50/50 Hot springs quest and how quickly things went as well as many other things.
DC's are insanely versatile..... doesn't matter what play style you enjoy.... this class basically can do it all provided with the time and gear to setup for it..
And they are just outright BAD *** in pvp too.
What i couldn't do on my BD.... did better on my SWS... i can best both of them at the same time on my DC... the +4wit -4 men isn't a problem due to spamming steal essense using mp like crazy ... and then just wacking them a few times to regain it all back in a split second due to the high dex/str....
the -con costs me a lot in pvp due to anyone that is able to stun.. but even with -10 con.. i've managed to still resist many a shield slam and rush impacts...
Actually i've had a lot of fun play my DC... It's quite refreshing to jump from my main lvl 83 BD and bring the pain with the scrub 76DC..... specially when they think i'm a dagger and will go down fast...... confuses the hell out of people.... "Did that dagger just use a nuke?"

Ok now im almost at lv. 80 =) hehe :D ( lv. 79 with 70% and still have to do epic quest soo im practically lv.80 ) already have the LA Moirai Set and gonna exchange my weapon for a AS, my friend will probably lend me his SoV +7 with acumen atm that i still missing the AM /Acumen. So my question is where can i lvl alone with my fenrir? I know Sel Mahum in oren is pretty nice but thats for lvl 82 :P, so where can i go that have nice quests to do/ XP/Adena drop? ( with this gear ) :D

for good xp, best option is get a GC party (use party matching), fire stones drop there but you will probably be sharing drops with 8 other people so you might only get 1 stone in 1-2 hours xp. good solo xp is silent valley under gc, but drops are junk, money is ok. Den of Evil should drop stones, and is easy to solo with pot drops and fast mob respawn, but a lot of running. Altho I've had bad luck getting stones to drop with my lvl 79 sub so maybe wait till 80 before go there. Varka is decent solo xp but no stones drop there. Not many quests I can think of that make much adena besides Sel Mahum.
However, you don't have to worry so much about stones for your weapon, save them for your armor. Steal Ess is non-elemental so you don't need element on your weapon really, and enchant it for power. Depending on how fast you level I would say save up for vesper or vorpal robes, 84 will come faster than you think, and element on armor is SOOOOOO important. I will 2-3 shot people with no elemen; with element resist I hit for much less. Having element on armor helps you survive MUCH longer. (Except vs Anakim ofc).
The problem with the game now is it's so easy to get 85 now but, people still don't have money to put element on armor so I kill them still as easily as an A-grader even if they are in vesper/vorpal. In the end, gear is still what separates the haves from the have-nots, it's just easier to get 85, but nearly irrelevant lol
