View Full Version : Lineage II at PAX Prime - August 27
Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, Lineage II will be at PAX Prime, in Seattle, WA, USA on Saturday, August 27, 2011! Moxie and I will be at both events!
At 2:30pm we'll have a speaking panel at the PAX Expo where we'll present a walkthrough of some of the key features in Goddess of Destruction. We'll also have some time for questions and answers with the audience, and we'll hand out some swag at the end of the panel. A PAX ticket is required in order to attend the panel.
Later that day, from 7 to 10pm, all players and fans are invited to come to our free Meet & Greet party at a bar/restaurant only 3 blocks away from the PAX Expo! No PAX ticket is required to come to the party, you don't even have to be a player. But to enter you do need to show a physical print-out or digital image (like showing it on a smartphone) of our Meet & Greet flyer to get in. We'll be sharing the party space with Aion so there will be players of both games there, but (hehe) we'll have more swag to give out than Aion. :D
Since the first time we announced our PAX plans in July, we've confirmed that we will have a raffle, free pool, food and drinks, swag and karaoke at the Meet & Greet! Another change is that we will not be filming the panel itself, as originally planned, however we will create video coverage of the GD walkthrough afterwards and share it with players.

will Ncsoft have live stream from Pax like from Gamescom?
Will the PAX will be recorded in any way yes ? :D

Funny, this is a form of advertising. Or have you never seen companies do live promotions?
I'm looking forward to it! We have a babysitter all lined up, and he'll pay us to come down and enjoy the night!
More people need babysitters that pay them!

u are right but is not NCWest case.....they should advertise their game on internet/tv/radio not on some event in Seattle not even with live stream
NC is advertising their game only for ppl that are already playing this game by sending mails with new chronicles

I for one think that L2 will be at PAX is a great thing, and one could only wish for more of these kinds of things. As I don't live in the US I will not participate but I wish I could be there.
Things like this is great advertising for the game, and builds the community of l2.

We've also been able to 'advertise' at gaming conventions in New York and Boston in the last 12 months. At ComicCon, San Diego last month, we could not have a definitive Lineage II presence but we were able to give some promotional flyers with free trial codes out to anyone that came by the NCsoft booth.
All in all, I understand your concern. Moxie has said in the Player Staff Focus Chat that we do have plans to advertise (beyond having presence at some gaming conventions) in the future. In the meantime, we are happy to be able to engage players, fans, and potential players at PAX this weekend. :)

I'm working up a write-up of the meet & greet, when I'm not actually working my 9-5. It should be posted in the next day or two.
The PAX panel went great! :) We had over 50 attendees. We went over some general Lineage II background then we did a walkthrough on the GD QA client to show off some of the new features. There were also some good questions asked by audience members. Everyone got a free Elpy plushie and some game time for attending.
The Aion & Lineage II Meet & Greet party was a smash-hit! Who knew that players liked karaoke so much! It was an intimate setting, some free drinks and snacks, free swag all around (mostly Lineage II stuff, in fact), a raffle with 12 winners, and players enjoyed meeting the staff and each other.
I was not personally able to take any pictures but I'll see if any of the other staff did. In a few days I'll post a synopsis and pics on the PAX news article page, just like I did for the PAX East event. :)

I really happy, that the Lineage 2 was successful on the PAX this is the reason why you need to join with the Lineage 2 on every gameshows to where you can just take the game and not only in the USA.
