I believe allowing this will help legitimate players compete with those using 3rd party programs.

I'd like to begin working on modifying the volume on specific sounds so that I can hear those things happen over others.

The sound for my weapon equipping/de-equipping for instance - I would like to make that sound louder on my client so that when I am disarmed by a duelist or kamael, I can hear that happen.

Please let me know if this is alright to do.

what are you not watching when you get disarmed?
i mean it's fairly obvious.

there is much i need to be looking at visually. making one of the visual cues audible would be a great help.

There is an Option for underlining keywords in Chat, but its rather limited.

In Everquest we could make complete lists of sentences and add sounds to them
"Hatchet swings his Giant Axe in an Arc around him" -> Sound "Duck for Cover.wav"
Theese were just in a textfile for easy sharing and modification.

And Everquest is a few years older than L2 ;)

Also Everquest had the option to send all chat to a Textfile. You could parse it then and compare DPS, Crits, and anything else you could search for.

The more comfort functions you put into the game the less important become the illegal Helper-Programs

Modifying the client files by any way it's illegal, even if It's for a person who needs it (like a physical handicap)

go into "chat options" - the little hammer icon to left of chat in game... click the chat options tab, check the box for "keyword filtering", type "disarm" in one of the slots then check the box down below that says "notify with effect sound"

there ya go

Has anyone ever heard the "effect sound"?

I'm afraid I might be deaf while playing L2 >.<

after doing some testing...
i have determined the reason i never heard that sound is due to my SFX volume being on the lowest non off setting.
by moving that up one notch or more there is a little bell jingling as a notification.

would be nice if it could be on a different sound slider.
because the sounds in this game are so loud already...

Is the notification being muffled by the sound of hitting mobs with shots?

Coz I still cant hear it at loudest SFX.

>.<

The only time I play with sounds is the 4th part of 79 epic quest. So I can hear when the stealth skill is refreshed.
