I realize this will probably sound familiar and silly to older players, but I think there are many players new to the game on Magmeld, and this post is adressed to them.
Please start using the party matching system, it's extremely useful! :)
Benefits of using party matching compared to shouting in towns:
-Every player in every town can see your party list, and the classes you are looking for.
-You can set the minimum and maximum level requirements for players that want to join your party. (Helps to avoid errors with levels when entering instances like kamaloka or Soi)
-You can check the instance zone restrictions for each of your party members (Helps to avoid "instance in reuse" problems)
-You can see the classes of players entering your party room, and pick the best class for your party.
-You can recruit party members or replacements from the "Waiting list" (you can send invites straight to the players that fit best)
-...many more, this list could go on forever so I'll stop here and now ;)
How to use party matching:
Use the party matching button to open the party matching window.

If you are looking for a party, check the list of party rooms. If you find a party that you wish to join, you can enter the party room in the list.
If you want to create a party, click the Create Room button.

You can set the title of your party room, the level requirements, and the maximum number of players in room.

Once you opened your party room, you can click on the names of players in your party to check instance restrictions, location of party members, level range, etc.

You can also modify your party's title (Room Info button in the lower left corner) if the initial title needs change (e.g. you needed damage dealers in the beginning but now you also need a buffer).
I hope this will help some people, and help improve the party creation on the server, it's really a disaster now
Best regards,
Ari

For a second there I thought this was about that little orange button I see every time I log in and cancel because it is an annoyance just like the L2 Store button is.
But I agree, people need to learn to start using it. Creating party rooms showing "PT LF DD + WC/OL" doesn't help much if there's no one on the waiting list or using Party Match to see that there's a group looking for their class. Plus it's more convenient because you're not limited to sitting in the area/in Aden to see if people are looking for parties or filling them up.

Really great.
I hope, people starting to use this, but reality seems to be different. I think the most people are to lazy an love to cry out in chats. They want to do less and get more for it.
Its to easy to spam the chat with a macro where everybody can ... have to see it, and the very first a**-licker invite them or do other nice things with them.
If there is an intelligence on Magmeld, plz use this fantastic and usefull feature. ;)

Indeed Magmeld is a very lazy server. Go to Naia or Chronos, the two servers before GoD was released, you barely spammed chat looking for a group but rather searched the rooms and sat in the waiting list.
Decided to log on my old main yesterday on Chronos and holy **** it's nice to see a scroll bar for rooms and the waiting list for people wanting to level and get groups going.
Plus I don't think people realize it's an excellent tool to use when you're doing your dailies and waiting for a group to pick you up. Dailies are good but wouldn't it be nice to get a group while doing it instead of later which could take a while?

I don't think this is about being lazy, is about there not being enough info about it.
when you log in you have an in-your-face button but no explanation anywhere on how it works. Then you go to town and you see people spam chat to make parties, so you do the same because you think that's how it's done.
L2 is a big game and stuff like these are easily overlooked when we trying to learn/relearn the game. I think NCsoft should make a better effort to educate the players of all the game's features.

Raging, you wrote it
That's the idea: make this tiny button in the corner to an in-you-face button, or somehow bigger and more in sight of the interface.
Is it in the suggestion section already?:D

I agree, thank you for this helpful thread, I will deff read up on it better and get to know the system ( tho I'm not one for random pting)
I also agree, I don't think it's about being lazy but a lot of ppl coming back to play l2 because it went free, or because of players coming from private servers who have never seen this system before and don' know how to use it.
It's been almost a year since the last time I played and their wasn't this matching system set up. I kept telling myself I would look it up but felt no need because as of yet it hasn't been too hard to find pt. Due to the busy population.
Thanks again for useful help :D +1 rep ^^

I used to be able to make some kama/laba parties with this system easy but now barely anyone uses it anymore. Instead people shout "lv xx lfp laba" not mentioning their class or anything and being surprised they get kicked in every party after they got invited.
Such a nice feature not being used.

That probably happens once in a thousand replaces. Very few people abuse this to get the 10 min buff for 3% more exp which is kind of garbage. Around 500 bonus exp with full party at ToI floor 11 where u get 35-45k exp (with vit, no rune). Tbh I'm really happy with this replace addition, keeps parties going for a long time much easier.
Another small trick to get for example more archers in a party if there are slots left.
- Replace an archer that's currently in the party.
- When he/she gets switched and the new player shows up, invite the previous player again.
- Enjoy the expanded party without any hassle of picking up players.
(works with any class obviously)

would be nice, the replacement would be used more.
I was several hours online with a healer and several with a DD, but wasn't invitet to a party.
So I hunted alone an saw many poeple soloing. A little bit funny

When you log in game you get the "auto party matching" status that as soon as is needed you will replace some other member in a party...
is there a way to enter this status while you are already logged in? I mean any command or button i havent seen, so we dont have to relog to get to this "Auto party matching" que?
also how is the replacement working exactly? Class differences, lvl differences etc anyone knows? (i understand that after awakening there isnt going to be mixes with the classes but what about the levels?)

In the actions window you got a section with party relevant actions, the last one toggles the replacement stat on and off.

Opening your actions menu you can go to the party section and hit the button that says "auto" on it. You'll be back in the queue.
And honestly I've been in a few parties that have used it but it was only to received the XP boost for 5 minutes instead of using it for its proper use. One time have I seen it been used for its intended purposes. We needed to replace a Blade Dancer and we received a replacement one a few minutes later. I have a huge feeling it is class for class and roughly 9+/- levels from your highest party member or according to the party leader.
Far as the Awakened groups go, it is probably going to be far easier since the classes are going to be narrowed down oppose to a wide range with the third class transfer.

lol now i am sure i must be blind, i had looked so many times the actions but never i actually "saw" it
anyway thanks for the tip, its good to know it,
regarding the "proper" use of this service i must say that in Naia (that i play) we use it all the time and i never found anyone that abused it

I stumbled upon this lonely feature in game and came looking for other people who might have found it in the past. It's a shame this post has disappeared within the forums. Everyone should use this feature!
PS: Please sticky this in the general discussion subforum so everyone can see.
