clan lvl 5 quest

i could be mistaken it was a long time ago that i did this before and im assuming that with the giants cave mobs changing they altered this quest a little :-S

anyway after getting the drake eggs etc it sent me off to kill spiteful soul captains to collect there energy - several deaths later i came back with 10 items but they arent energies they are spitful soul vengence (says on description they cant be formed in to energy and are worthless).

has anyone done this quest recently or know of a current walkthrough or indeed know how i capture a spiteful souls energy ?

you will get a level 2 recipe for the Fields of Massacre part. That recipe is only usable by Warsmiths since not even Bounty Hunters have level 2 craft.
With the recipe you can craft Spiteful Soul Energy (the one's you really need) from the Spiteful Soul Vengeance (the "broken" quest items that are useless unless crafted into Energy) items you'll also get.

You get the recipe from the dorf outside the blacksmith shop in hunters, he should be the next step after handing in the brooch in Giran.

just a ps for anyone doing this, the recipie doesnt appear to be tradeable so if possible transfer leader to a crafter before taking the quest ^^

did you try trading the recipe to a ws in the clan? because that would just be borked having to make a ws the leader just to do quest >< you used to be able to trade it in the old quest

no i dont have a warsmith in clan basically the clan is me and me lol i did try to trade to another clan member and it didnt show up - i do have a warsmith friend but would have to ask them to leave there current clan to test that.

Ive sorta put it on the back burner for now - i can keep the items (vengence thingies) and trade them i believe u can also trade the wyrm eggs (didnt try) so ill cancel quest try again make a warsmith trade eggs transfer leader etc etc - guess dorfs finally got a break lol :-S

This is a know issue with the new Recipe. I have placed 10 Spiteful Soul Energy to your character, so you can go back to Balthazar to turn in the items. You do not need to register or use that recipe then.

he should do,

when u did the part with the eggs did u remember to deliver (i think it was) magpie feather to another npc as well as handing in the eggs ?

i know i forgot that the first try and had to redo.

FYI, I had just completed the clan lvl 4 quest, it did take me two trys to get it. The reason, first time I had healer and buffer who were not in clan in the groups party. The second time around it was just clan members and out of party buffs and heals. This is key other wise you will not get the herb drops. I am currently at the Spiteful Soul Energy as compared to the Vengeance (two stones kind of similar but only the energy counts). Very slow drop rate about one in 5 to 7 kills of that group. I will update this as I follow the quest along.

Update----------

Took about 45 mins per stone in fields of massacre, this is the worst drop rate ever I've seen for a quest so far. The rest is same off to aden and then cemetary.. etc..

Quest was fixed:
Get the recipe (it's common craft now) and use the Vengeance.
Shouldn't take more than 1h to get all Energies that way.
