What is needed more?

So currently I'm a lvl 17 L.Elf trying to figure out what I should go down the road. I hear TKs are very rare (as are all tanks) but SwS are really awesome for raid groups. Any input into the matter would be great. Thanks for your time!

what do you like more? being the thing that absorbs damage and gives it out in miniscule amounts? or the guy who gives his friends some stat boosts and can dish out a fair chunk of damage at higher levels using a bow?

It doesn't really matter to me. I have fun playing any class. I just really like playing the rare classes. My friend is a lvl 67 TK on the server and he's telling me that TKs are extremely rare. So that's all I'm wondering - which is more needed.

if your friend really wants you to party with him, make an EE/Prophet or warcrier, not a fighter. if youre bent on fighting, try the swordsinger.

SWS are really awesome to group no matter what the case they are really loved by Melee DDs and Archers though after level 49

SwS are a great asset to any group - temple knights are rare because there are many problems with the class, not just on a whim. They are excellent high-defense tanks, but there is no need for tanks in standard PvE - and the Shillien Knight by contrast offers virtually the same defensive assets as the TK with so much more punch it is not even funny.

If you like rare, go TK - but be prepared for a lot of soloing, then the sliver of light at the horizon that is raiding, only to realise that the tank party gets crap for all exp.

TKs are rare, SKs are rarer :P and thats because they are the harder classes to play/level (too much solo). I know, I have a lvl61 Shilen Knight.

Try making a SwS, you will love it as you will be welcome in every clan of the server Everybody wants a SwS in his party. I know we want one and always looking for a good friend

I love to party with SWS but I don't need (want) a tank to pve, the same happens to rest of the players. We need buffs and help, solo for a tank is a very difficult matter.

I think TKs are actually really rarer, but I know they are an excellent class to play (my wife played one). They have the best abilities for party tanking since they can keep aggro the best with the new cubic, they are excellent for AoE parties since they are fast, and have excellent tanking assets for raids like the SK. Their damage output is lower but that is relative when considering the right tattoos and/or gear.
They are also very nice for PvP against BOTH nukers and archers, but SWS are also strong PvP classes from what I hear.
Btw the looks of LE heavy armor is much better now (less bulky "wings"), so I would go for the TK for looks too!)
