We’re aware of ongoing distributed denial of service attacks directed at our games and are working to mitigate them. If you’ve been experiencing connection drops or sporadic high latency, please know that we’re closely watching the situation and reducing game service impact as much as possible. We'll be posting updates on the @L2andAionOps account on this and any other service impacting issues.

If you’re experiencing connection or latency issues which you believe to be outside of these attacks, we ask that you please submit a support ticket so we can collect additional information.

DDOS attack is no excuse because with NcSoft caliber financial revenue for Lineage2 and other NC Titles, DDOS can be planned in advance and be prevented. I worked professionally in the network industry @CCIE level for over 20 years and Best Practice is to have a mock DDOS attack once every 2 weeks. Please let me know if future plans are in place to minimize the effect of future DDOS attacks. While we are on this subject of High Availability, make sure you use VMotion or the latest VM technology to minimize server downtime whenever there is. Always plan and use Best Practices when implementing and review and update your technology every 2-3 years in your weaker areas. Weekly planned server reset can be aggressively shortened with latest technology in SSD, Xeon v4 much improved memory-cpu-storage high bandwidth bus technology.

If you look at my creation of this account, you know I’ve been a long time loyal customer. I have spent money on Lineage2 for 14 years across multiple accounts. Please take my recommendation seriously as mutual respect for your customer is a win-win for all parties. Others have spent far more than me I am sure but it’s not a competition here but for whatever it’s worth, I know I am not alone.

Also noteworthy is the lack of Lineag2.com announcement regarding DDOS attack. We're use to see server maintenance as you guys are good doing that in the past but network connectivity updates do also need to be on the Lineage2.com website so customers know you're aware and working toward a solution. What do you think?

I can only hope but reality is everything comes down to budget. Ask for more budget if that’s what it takes to make a case for ROI and customer satisfaction are key to retention and growth. Do say nothing or avoid this post to translate that this is a game where owners do not care so I can also make plans for Exit Strategy.

As a player truth I don’t care from we’re ddos comming from . Every now and then there are ddos in this game . So my question is why nc does nothing about it ? Or what they do is not enough . It’s been a week now i can’t enjoy the game and same freezes happened to siege , oly . Nc knows the biggest events in game and does nothing to stop ddos . The nc support is good when you make a ticket or smithing . But when it comes to quality game this is not quality . My friends before they log they ask so you lag ? I’m like yes . - ok nvm cya tomorrow I go play smithing elce . We want to play l2 and we care about the game why nc does nothing as return . We don’t ask Mutch . Just to play the game with quality .

Hello. I bought heine baits with my real money, a ton of them, but I'm beeing dc/ed with all of my toons (3 toons) every 2 minutes.
In just 1 hour I'm loosing 150 baits= $ 1.50 x hour.

If you aren't able to fix the problem, please, shut down the servers untill someone returns from his holidays.

+ on this, I was lagging like everyone else the past few days but last night I was on for 4+ hours with no issues or disconnections, so it seems lag is gone for the time being.

MashaWithoutBear, please submit a ticket regarding your purchased items affected by the issue.

The issue isn't simply a simple issue. Our engineers are working around the clock to mitigate the attacks, which unfortunately translate into moments of lag or disconnect. The attacks impacts are reduced, but not eliminated.

I've definitely seem the fruits of your labors. The lags and d/cs have not been eliminated but they have been greatly reduced. Please keep after it until you have it fully under control. And thanks very much fro communicating.
