How much money does it take to play Lineage2?

Hello there friends,

So many people seem to think that playing Lineage2 takes a lot of real life money, so I just thought I talk about this subject this time.

O.K. It's time to tell you the truth and not the sugar coated version.

To tell you the truth, it doesn't take a lot of money to play until LvL 100, and you can do quite a lot until LvL 100, too. So if you are not sure whether you want to spend money on this game or not, I suggest you just play the game until LvL 100 and see if you like it or not. Go ahead and explore! why not play different classes and races and see which you like? The game is free and you are free to do whatever you want, so why not just play?

After LvL100, this is the Adena you will need to be a respectable party member

Tank, Iss, Healer = +8 Bloody set = 40B = $400 USD

DD = +8 Bloody set + 12 Bloody weapon = 40B + 35B = 75B = $750 USD

If you do Zero farming in game, this is how much it will cost.

Personally, this is not so bad when considering the game is Free to play and when games like WOW charges $35 USD monthly subscription. For lineage2, it's like you just gotta pay once then you can just enjoy the game.

Just out of curiosity, how could one get 40B adena for $400USD? You cannot buy adena from NC Store and selling stuff you bought for $400-worth NC Coins such as GemR or GE would give you around 25bil. Maybe Passes do better?

Given the market is a bit frozen after the fishing nerf as people stopped buying stuff you also need to consider it may take a while before you are able to get your money.

Are you forgeting dyes, accesorie, earrings, rings, necklace, belt, cloak, talismans, jewels, consumables, augments...

To make you competitive, even if we are talking about pve $750 is not even a start.

I agree that if you want to be a respectable party member you need that adena. But if you want only to play that adena are not necessary. Ιss & healer can do instances 100+ with no enchant armor. Tank are ok with +6 armor. DD need +12 r99 weapon (not bloody) & no enchant armor.

Especially for tank i think with a gear that cost about 8-10 billion it's ok. (Yes i know you are the last choice of the parties & healers wondering why you take so damage but you survive ).

Where I want to end up is that if you want to play the game you do not have to spend a huge amount of money. Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.

I think it much better then in Lineage. It's what make main source of income of them. So they don't have to add items into shop which influences game and everyone have to own it. Actually in WoW ingame store are only cosmetic things.

Buy sell on events play smart and you can make a lot more than 40b . Check posts about guides ppl have posted before .

Just take an example from real test result. 10k Baits will give you 6,5k successful fish. No matter what bait's (Normal R99, Event R99, 102, 105). It is the NCSoft rate, and that go in everything.
From your invest of 400$ you will get only 240-250$, the rest will get lost due to NCSoft system policy.
Player speak about l2 market, and forget that for the time they spend in that activity if they do it in a brook company , their incoming will be far much better and with real $$$. So forget about those looser and think the game as fan hour in your real life.

I highly doubt WoW's main income is the monthly subscriptions since you can now buy your time with in-game gold, and doing dailies nets you waayyy enough gold to afford the ''1 month playtime'' item. They make more than enough money from the micro transactions even if they are strictly cosmetics, they aren't greedy ***** like NC Soft.

To be decent, on low cost mode, as support ( ISS, TANK) Heal need less, this also allow you to not get 1 shoted on pvp, can have some fun on sieges... (unless someon hit you with break enchanted skill , only way to surv that is with 90%+ pvp reduction)

Armor:+8 bless seraph / TW is OK. 12-14B (sph) / 8B (tw)
Jewels: Diamond lvl 3/4, Pearl lvl 3/4, obsidian lvl 3/4. (12 b if go with lvl 3 , all of them)
Talisman: Abundance lvl 1 (8B) (maybe some hellfire or longing, but honestly dont need that XD)
Weapon: any 2 SA x Health / ideal put sigel SA / can also tauti + sigel SA. (weapon can cost like 600kk if apo+4 XD + 8b Sigel SA)
Belt: cheap oly 7% pvp/pve damage reduction (600kk each - 1.2B both)
earrings: istina earring normal ( stun+high mdef cheap-- 800kk) / pvp stun 40% now is around 1b ?? maybe Orfen soul thats super cheap 400kk
Rings: queen ant soul 2b // baium soul 3.5B or creation 2.5B
Necklace: fritnezza soul 1.2B or so
DYE: CON +5 x3 (2.5B)
Head gear: con+pdef 1b (ideal 1 slot)
Agathion: rudolph 5 USD...
Cloack : Exalted ( free ) can also go cheap: +5 Ferios cloack event one (with 30 USD on event can do it, or even less) this low enchant get 5% on full buff can be 750 pdef or little more v/s exalted.
Shirt: Istina / octa ---- 400kk // if can put some cash +5 or+ 6 physical shirt (also 30 USD or so.. this low enchant get 5/6% on full buff can be 750 pdef or little more v/s exalted. If you add this 2 low enchant store crap is like having another diamond lvl 4...

So is around 52B + 65 USD to get **** +6, cloack +5 ( fail very little to that lvls)
So if we use your 10 USD er Billion we get 585 USD, a little more of what you suggested but provide full mid grade gear that provides also some pvp protection ( 34%-38% depends on obsidian lvl) from gear, wich you can add dity + pot and get 51% pvp reduction , 61% with freya protec.
If you buy all smart and get the most of the store i think you can achive it with 500 USD ..
With this you will reach, or be very close to 150k HP on rose and defensive AP / HP dual.. wich will allow you to tank any content on game // on iss i think can be less, but with this will be pretty decent (not a one shot iss XD)

So your money is not that wrong, but you have to choose better on what u use it..
And i think a little extra cash to get a +8 bless Eternal will be good, to improve it to Dark later and with that you will be very decent on sieges,
For oly need topaz and better weapon XD, but can have fun....

Honestly never seen the point to get a bloody armor for tank or iss on this game....
Bloody is for DD that get hit heavy on pve..... well maybe on next content that change dont know

In my opinion l2 is not only one good set and good weapon there is others stuffs if you wanna play to conquer casttles, kill dragons, rbs and olly.

Drops instances and mobs dont give money for competition.

Normality is to pay x0 usd to enjoy the game ...100 times less its normality.
Afterall, its a 15 y old game ffs
