Only your screen? Or sleep/hibernate mode as well?

My Power Settings are set to turn off the display after 5 mins, the PC its self does not hibernate or go to sleep. Those settings are turned off.

Eventually I have the same problem when I block Win10, so unwanted guests will not mess with the laptop.

And when returning, entering the password, the critical error described occurs, usually in one or two logged boxes.

When you turn off a display which is connected through DisplayPort, the monitor device vanishes from the device manager in Windows and the game crashes with D3DERR_DEVICELOST. Windows simulates a screen when the display is off and you can set some properties of the "SIMULATED" screen in the registry to prevent windows from resizing (default is too small), but it doesn't really fix the issue with the device lost in D3D. I haven't figured out how to solve this properly yet.
The only thing that works for me is resizing the game to 1024x768 or similar (small) resolution before turning off the display. That way it doesn't crash.

Hi Alexiel,

You seem to be onto something as this screen is connected via display port and my other computers are just using DVI the resolution is set to 2560x1377 when the screens turn off.
