Default Account Migration for NCSOFT Master Accounts

Adventurers,

We will be upgrading our account systems after tomorrow's maintenance to provide you with better service and enhanced features. Most players will not have to do anything to take advantage of the upgrade.

However, some players are still playing on older accounts (“NCSOFT Master Accounts”). If you are using a “user name” to log into the game, you will need to migrate over to our new system to continue the use of your accounts and to play NCSOFT games. Migrating your account is easy, completely free, and takes only a few minutes. And, as a special bonus for all our longtime players, people who complete their account migrations before May 1, 2015 will receive 400 NCoin to spend in-game.

Don’t wait too long. If you do not migrate your account, it will be deleted from our system. Once this happens, we will be unable to recover your account and any associated characters, items, or data.

We realize that this probably doesn’t apply to current players who use their email to log in to the game, but if you have friends or family members, who might not be aware of this, please pass the information along.

To migrate your account, log in at https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/plaync_login.pl and you will be guided through the process.

FAQ

Q: I tried to log in to a game and was told that I need to migrate my account. What do I do?
A: Log in to your account at NCSOFT.com and you will be taken through the process.

Q: What do I need to migrate my account?
A: All you need is a valid email address that is currently not in use for any other NCSOFT accounts.

Q: So what happens once I provide an email address?
A: Once you enter a valid email address and a display name, you will receive a verification email. Click the “verify now” link in that email. Once your email is confirmed, you are almost done. Click “continue” and confirm the final step in the process.

Q: Once I’ve migrated, what do I use to log in to the games?
A: You use the email address you just provided. That is now your game and website login.

Q: I have an NCoin balance. Will it transfer over?
A: Yes. You will be able to access your NCoin as usual after you migrate.

Q: I’m not sure if I have to migrate my account. How do I check?
A: If you do not use an email to log into your account, you will need to migrate. To check, log in to your account at NCSOFT.com and if you need to migrate your account, you will be told and taken through the process.

Q: I’m a new player. Will I need to migrate?
A: No. Players who have created accounts after July 12, 2012 do not need to migrate.

Q: What’s this about free NCoin?
A: We want to say thank you to players who take the time to migrate their NCSOFT Master accounts over to our new system. We’re offering 400 NCoin as a reward for those who migrate by May 1, 2015.

Q: When will I get the free NCoin?
The NCoin will be delivered to the account at a later date.

Q: What if I play multiple NCSOFT games? Can I get the 400NCoin more than once?
A: Each migrated account will only be eligible for one (1) 400 NCoin bonus.

Q: What happens if I don’t migrate?
A: Your account will be deleted from our account system, and we will be unable to restore it or any characters or data associated with it.

Q: When will you delete accounts that haven’t migrated?
A: We will be deleting unmigrated accounts in early May 2015.

Q: I have friends or family that have bought and played Lineage II way back. What should they do?
Please have them read this announcement to migrate their accounts. If they are having trouble logging into the website, please have them contact Customer Support here.

Q: I don’t want to migrate but can I come back and play Lineage II later?
Accounts that have not migrated by early May will be removed from our system. Lineage II accounts are free to create so you can always create an account later.

I have 5 master accounts (Not a bot I swear) that havent migrated yet. Do all 5 of them receive the 400 ncoin if I migrate or just one??

I have my brother's account created 11 years ago, brother died 5 years ago. ARE YOU GOING TO KILL HIS ACCOUNT ALSO? SERIOSLY?

I just had to log to offboard after 6 months.
Due to this brilliant idea of NCW i will loose this account.

I have created my MA back in early 2006. No idea which infos i put in.
Also the original Email Account i had is closed for years. Already had the discussion with the support "team" back as this change happened few years ago. The result was that they said i should keep my account like it is and keep playing.
There is no harm lvl wise as the highest char here is lvl90, but loosing all the toons i experienced so much from creating my first clan, a pk group with friends to honour everRed, the first Ally Raidings and so on.

Now all you gonna say is " Lineage II accounts are free to create so you can always create an account later"

That's the way to deal with people playing 9 years the same game

Only 1 week notice for a change of this severity is not acceptable especially for a game people spent time and money on.

I didn't see this post until it was too late to transfer items off of accounts that were made 4+ years ago that i lost info for. In the process i lost expensive items and my lvl 7 clan that took a long time to create thats not including the characters that are getting deleted i have 3 accounts unmigrated made 2011

My suggestion would be to delay this change and give people ample time to revert to the new system funny thing is im subscribed to your twitter account and this big change wasnt even announced there.

There was no notice, they had the first post "hidden" as you can see the first actual reply is from this morning.
NCSoft, delay this whole migration for ALEAST another week as you have not given us any heads up for this whole change.

One week to me doesn't seem enough compared to the length of time we had these accounts created and for the outcome of having them deleted if you cant find the info but I wont complain.

Please do an emergency maintenance and revert this change as i cant do anything on my day off work.

If what your saying is true is this a plan to put the final nail in the coffin for L2? (conspiracy theorist here) i love this game please dont kill it for the people that enjoy it

The migration can occur. But locking you out of the in game accounts until you do it is idiotic.

I don't have much of value on the accounts, but I also don't want to have them deleted either. Especially with what amounted to almost no warning.

The new requirements can often lead to you receiving an error that states:

"There was a problem updating your account. Please try again later. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Support."

The new requirements for passwords mean you may not use:

- A password you have used previously

- Common passwords like 'password'

- Passwords commonly used by many users (ex: lineage)"

If you use a strong/complex password and are still having issues migrating after the other troubleshooting steps/FAQ, please submit a Support ticket, which you can do from the link above.

I must set "random" ticket w/o number because i not may log in my master to send from there

What can be done, if after you try to reset your password, you don't remember the answers on the security questions?

great BUT I HAVE BEEN ON ABOUT THIS MONTHS AND YOU DID NOTHING to tell me what to do in my post, HAVE YOU SEEN HOW OLD MY ACCOUNTS ARE got no hope of getting them back, gd ninja update

Can't use the ticket support system to reset a password because your account is migrated. I know you didn't design this system but it is horrible

I cant migrate my acc because i got message that my user name or password is WRONG. But its not true. I try to log in many times, but now i have message "Too many failed login attempts, login temporarily disabled. Please try again in a few minutes.". I posted request in servise support before i can login with migrated accounts, but now i cant login wit ANY of my acc's, because it say that "login temporarily disabled because of too many failed logins" and i eve cant see the status of my issue!!!!!!
Ty God i can use forum wit 1 of my acc data......

Unmigrated accounts won't be deleted until early May, you still have time to migrate and save your account. If you're having problems migrating, contact Customer Support here.
