Iron and coal can be acquired using the manor system, using the dwarven skills "spoil and sweep" or as a drop from monsters.

However, it is usually more advisable to sell the materials to players crafting more valueable items and buy the item you want from an NPC store - those higher-level players will gladly pay you a little fortune for your materials.

The way to Giran is long, but if you can make that treck you can probably get a very nice price for your materials. Avoid selling in Gludin or your hometown, as most people buying materials there are offering a price several times lower than that which you can receive in Giran.

Papoosh!

or find another friend along the way to buy your mats. as for giran, it is generally felt that most of those prices for items being sold are over-priced, and severly under priced for those shop set up to buy items. ... but this is a (generally) free world, you have choices.

At least on Devianne and Lionna (when I played it) as well as Hindemith, mats had their highest prices in Giran (which is good for new players), and gears had its highest in Dion.

if you craft that sword i'll pk you
ive said it time and time again dont craft anything till C grade (some d grade stuff can make a profit but it isnt worth the effort)

Brig helmets are well worth it - so are all the top D Grade boots/gloves if you already have the mats, since they barely cost any base mats at all.

If in Erica atleast, I can buy coal and iron ore for like 300-400 adena in Gludin (I could maybe get for cheaper but I do not want to completely rip off people) and then after I get a good amount, Giran time, sell it for like 3-4 times more than how much I bought for.

I say sell all your iron ore and coal to Giran.

What lvl are you? And what town do you usually come to?

Very good point there. More than once when playing a twink and asked some low lvl to like come from dion to gludio (or giran or whatever), I got the following answer: "sorry, but i have to farm some money first for the port costs".

I mean, what are they thinking? If you are short on adena, porting is the absolutely LAST thing to spend money on! I think I never used the GK before like lvl 50 with my first char...

I think NC should include a tutorial on using SoE's between towns and what porting zones are...
