Soooo.........
thought it would be cool to be a teleporter.......
anyone want to add on on what it might have?
I mean as far as skills go

A gating class would really be cool, but it should probably be built on the Elder if at all - Return to Friend (requiring some kind of component to use), Recover (summons a corpse to your location) and similar spells all might be useful and fun. ^^

Although people would probably cry if they couldn't camp corpses any more. >.>

In another game I played you could send a familiar anywhere and then gate to the familiar. I don't believe it could be attacked either.

Summon corpse would be cool so a healer doesnt have to go looking for you to rez and aggro a bunch of mobs. Maybe another cool skill could be port to a certain location by using the /loc in game.

1. Dimensional Pull - Teleports enemy at your feet, range 1300 :P
2. Dimensional Push - Teleports enemy away , can crit for more distance.
2. Dimensional Fling - Teleports enemy far above ground, can crit for more distance.
3. Chaos Field (taken from D&D) Lvl 80 fusion skill - randomly teleports enemies around area of effect, also prevents enemies from escaping this area (they will be instantly ported back upon leaving). Enemy looses his current target when teleporting.

and also make some knig of teleporting shop, so u leave u character in that state adn teleport people for some price, like NPC )))). I think it will give lots of money )

I think just flat out pulling dead bodies to town might be a little overpowered... but again from another game, maybe if the healer had to cast a "shroud" on the dead person first, THEN they could retrieve them later on, that would work.

The game i saw this in was city of heroes....
the skill was in a pool called teleportation
in this game, any one can choos from "pool" powers
and anyone can get the skills
there are about 7-8 pools
the teleport pool consists of
teleporting a friend
teleporting a team
teleporting a foe
and phase shift (makes target friend or foe entangable)

there where clans (called supergroups)
that all they did was port people around the map
the paragon city taxi service was what they where called..
and yah..they made alot of money.
in pvp it was a great power too
tho teleporting someone in pvp...it had a low acuracy of hitting...or seems to

so based on what i've seen i beleive a gatekeeping class would be a great asset to this game experiance, even if people used there toons just for a utility.

and NcSoft.....dont give up on the giant idea!
Bring Giants to L2 as a playable race as well!
o.0 maybe gatekeeper could be one of there professions?
or would it be possible to come from that other race that they are working on?

I might actually start to take an interest in PvP if we had a race of giants in the game. It might be kinda fun to kill the giants with my Destroyer (plus maybe a few friends ). For that matter, a race or group of giants as mobs in the game might be kinda fun too.

Well, currently they have Summon friend
In Interlude they'll have Chant of Gate and the clan leader member call thingy.

On the corpse thing, I think people should be able to pick up corpses and carry them off. Friends or enemies should be able to do this. Kill an enemy, grab the corpse, and drop it in the forge of the gods. Of course weight problems still apply and you can't teleport when carrying a corpse. Of course the corpse can vanish when the owner decides to go to town. Of course... I just wanted to type that.

that would be nice to have gatekeeper class....though I would love to see if we can have druid class also in L2......so one can shapeshift to an animal or golemn or whatever.....^ ^

Nice stuff, but ... who would play such class? What fighting skills does it have? Or will it be yet another boxed character raised only to do teleporting? I think we have enough boxes anyway ...

Even if it were a class, I don't think they'd be very wealthy. They had two classes in the original EQ that could teleport themselves and other players to specific destinations. As the game wore on, so many people played these classes, as well as the introduction of a sort of "hub" zone that could teleport you to any of the major cities anywhere in the world (Plane of Knowledge) that these classes lost nearly all the income that their abilities allowed.

In L2, because its possible to power-level a character so very quickly, you'll pretty soon see "Gate Shops" selling ports at cost +1 adena.

I also think that, with a collection of skills centered around teleporting the party to cities other than the closest (a la PR), they're going to be nearly useless outside of a party.
