Usually its based on the crystal cost (C) plus the cost of the ore per combination (O) divided by the number of Shots returned per click (N), and add to that the desired profit margin (P).
[(C+O)/N] + P = per-shot price.

But the actual prevailing market price is determined by supply and demand, the 'invisible hand' of the market (per Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations). You will find economics courses very interesting, the L2 market is a wonderful introduction to economics.

It's determined by lag. I've seen a dwarf selling css 30a near GK in Giran, I was next by her selling 21a.
I got customers but so did she because people who teleport in don't see all the shops before a few minutes and many don't want to wait that long.

Plus speed of selling is a factor.
At your prices, you must sell out very fast. If I am actively selling, I sell at a lower price. However, if I set up the afk shop when I sleep, I sell at a higher price. I am no longer replacing shots that are bought so it doesnt make sense to move them quickly. 9 out of 10 times I am sold out anyway when I wake up.

[/ QUOTE ]Technically supply is infinite, because the ore and crystals can be gotten through the npc shops for D/C grade. Actual price of the shots depends on how many are selling atm, and how busy it is. usually at night you get a lot of people selling expensive, because they are sleeping and don't care about selling out fast. while in the day you (sometimes) get competition between 3-4 crafters in a town. and usually the price differs from town to town, because you don't have to compete with someone in dion if you're in giran. Since it's not worth it to use a few thousand adena to teleport just to check prices, you aren't guaranteed better prices anyway. just to check on them. |

It also helps to set up in the same location all the time, NOT right at the gk feet. That just get irritating. People get used to being able to find shots from a certain person in a certain place. We are creatures of habit.
