Well, I'd go to the swamp if you're in DE village. Remember that you can also travel between all newbie towns with the newbie travel token (or whatever its called) but you need to go back to DE town (or Kamael) if you want to learn new skills.

Anyways, you can always open the map (Alt+M), click on "World Info", then "Hunting Zones" Tab, select an area (Dark elf/light elf towns are in oren, for example) and then sort it by level and you will be able to see which places might be good for you to hunt

Almarė

ps: If you want to know what "realm" are you in (be it oren, aden, gludio etc) you just have to find the manor manager and his title will tell you where are you. Or you can also click on "See the lord's taxes info" when speaking to any NPC shop!

Lyndalla's advice is good general purpose. But also, while are you in the starter villages, in general, the monster levels progress as you go further away from town. For a DE, this means until you get around the Neutral Zone, then you are progressing to the "mainland". In general, especially on your first character, stick to green or white monsters. You want monsters that are only going to take a few hits (or nukes) to kill, and not take much damage from the monsters.

Generally stay near your starter village. There are advantages to learning the monsters (because in each area it takes at least a little time to learn the new monsters!), knowing where you are going in town, etc.

DE village is a pain to run in and out of but the actual village underground is laid out in a relatively small space--which means you can run from the shop to the temple and so on quickly.

The starter areas were designed (mobs, items, quests) for you to go from lvl 1-20---up to your first class change quest.
It is often very efficient to stay put.

Then again, you can travel with newbie tokens to other starter areas for free and there's a lot of world out there and all of them are designed essentially the same so maybe looking around is your thing! (lol).

When I do rerolls/alts I run them up to 19 in the starter area and start the quest. It just seems more efficient. But then again, at this point I've seen all the starter areas multiple times.

Lvl 10 you're still killing mushrooms, goblins, and orcs if I recall. I think it's level 12 or maybe a bit higher before SODA or even the Swamp begin to work well.

Welcome and GL!

L10 or L70 it doesn't matter...you are always looking for mobs you can kill in as few shots as possible. The most useful ones are the ones that drop herbs, so you can avoid sitting for MP as much as possible.

From now until the time you hit 'end game', you want mobs that you can 1 to 2 shot. (And maybe smack once or twice to finish them off, if they have a sliver of health left.)

Look for mobs that have "[Slightly] Weak Mdef", no modifier, or are "Wind Weakness" for their stats. (Drop down by their 'target name' shows this info.)

"Slightly Strong Mdef" isn't too bad, but might take an extra low power nuke to finish off. Try to avoid mobs with "Very Strong Mdef" though. These will take 3-5 times more nuker to kill than a normal mob. Same goes for multi-hp mobs...they aren't worth the MP drain most of the time.

In general though:

Golems and Zombie type mobs are almost always "Very Strong Mdef".

Floating Eyeball mobs are almost always "Wind Weakness"

Spiders are usually "Flame Weakness".

Everything else is a bit of a mix, so check the stats whenever you get to a new area. For now, stick to the DE newbie lands until after first class change. (L20) Just kill Goblins -> Orcs -> Fungus -> Bats -> Spiders, until you hit 20 then do the quest to change class.

After that...explore the areas and check out the game world...leveling is going to take a long time anyway you may as well sightsee a bit. Don't forget to use your map's extra features to find quests and areas to hunt in. (They show the rough levels for each area...)
