Well Im stumped... I can never get the same spec error.
New system running: GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Im using the newest drivers available from nvidia. First I noticed that my gfx textures completely spazzed out. Half the objects ingame were completely white, or had textures I had never seen anywhere. Goddard had a dark elf face on every flat object haha. Anyway I restarted, now I get this regularly: 2008.12.17 00:38:56 OS : Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU : AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ -3337 MHz with 2047MB RAM Video : NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (8048) PosCode : LS1:148008:-55332:-2735 2/1 General protection fault! History: AActor: estroy <- UObject::ConditionalDestroy <- (PlayerController 24_16.PlayerController273) <- ULevel: estroyActor <- (PlayerController 24_16.PlayerController273) <- UGameEngine::OnTeleportToLocation <- UNetworkHandler::Tick <- Function Name=TeleportToLocat <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoopBut the CPU sped is always changing. Lowest IVe seen is -3777mhz. This system is not overclocked, everything is set on auto. Please help... this was for the gf for xmas and it doesnt to much good if its crashing nonstop! |

Did you build it yourself or was it from a retailer?

go here:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/..._13118,00.html and download "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer" that should fix the problem that says your CPU is running at -xxxx mhz and maybe also the rest of your problems to (not the lighting problems...that's a problem you have to talk to NVidia about).

Thought I would say that the dual core thing helped alot... however I ended up getting memory dumps.
Now I have bad memory to deal with. Oh well

here is one of the best tools to check if you have bad memory http://www.memtest.org/ also try to pull one of the RAM cards out and see if it helps, if not pull out the last one and put in the one you took out 1st and see if it runs better. If it's still the same and memtest don't give you any errors then I don't know what can be the problem exept that the antivirus/antispyware/firewall may interfear with L2 causing memory dumps.
